Ryan Stanton is averaging just 15:15 minutes per game in 2014-15.

Stanton has been getting the least responsibility among the Canucks' defensemen so far this season. He had 16 points in 2013-14, but he probably won't come close to matching that mark this season. He has three assists in 23 contests so far.

The Vancouver Canucks have cleared Ryan Stanton (lower body) to play but he will likely be a healthy scratch on Saturday.

Yannick Weber has impressed coach Willie Desjardins since getting into the lineup and Desjardins likely will not make a change tonight. Stanton has no fantasy value so this news should not affect your fantasy team.

Ryan Stanton should be able to earn a roster spot with Vancouver next season.

"I've been confident in my abilities and ever since I started playing at the professional level, I thought I could play in the NHL," he said. "I don't get too excited or down. I just tried to be consistent." In 64 games with the Canucks in 2013-14, he recorded 16 points and a plus-5 rating. Stanton was claimed off waivers from Chicago on Sept. 30 and earned some playing time on a pairing with Kevin Bieksa.

Ryan Stanton has been claimed off of waivers by the Vancouver Canucks.

Stanton had 25 points and 126 penalty minutes in 73 AHL games last season. He was never able to earn regular playing time with the Chicago Blackhawks, but he might be a decent source of penalty minutes if he can earn a top-six role in Vancouver. That being said, we can't recommend picking him up in standard leagues at this time.

The Chicago Blackhawks waived defenseman Ryan Stanton on Sunday.

It's obviously difficult to make the cut for the defending Stanley Cup champions, but Stanton could serve as an occasional injury replacement if he clears waivers. Naturally, he's not really worth watching in fantasy at this point, though.
