The Washington Capitals have acquired Mike Carman from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for Danny Richmond.
It was a deal for minor leaguers as Richmond will report to the Lake Erie Monsters while Carman, who was drafted in the 2006 Draft, 81st overall, will go to the Capitals AHL team in Hershey. Fri, Feb 3, 2012 07:47:00 AM

The Colorado Avalanche have signed Mike Carman to an entry-level contract.

Carman was the Avs third round selection in the 2006 Entry Draft. The University of Minnesota product had eight goals and 18 points in 39 games this season as a senior. He will finish out the season with the AHL Lake Erie Monsters. He does not have any fantasy value and projects to be a bottom-six forward at best in the NHL.
