Carter Hutton allowed five goals on 23 shots in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to Ottawa.

The last Senators goal was put into an empty net. The Blues have a serious dilemma between the pipes, as Hutton and Jake Allen have had issues with consistency this season. Hutton has a 6-6-2 record with a 2.70 goals-against-average and a .898 save percentage. Don't be surprised if St. Louis goes back to Allen in their next game.
Jan 17 - 11:13 PM

St. Louis will stick with Carter Hutton between the pipes when the team hosts Ottawa on Tuesday night.

He was in the starter's net during the morning skate and was the first goalie off the ice, so he will make his third straight start. Hutton started back-to-back games over the weekend and stopped 55 of 56 shots in a pair of wins over San Jose and Anaheim.
Jan 17 - 1:09 PM

Carter Hutton followed up a Saturday night shutout with a Sunday night victory over Anaheim, making 22 saves on 23 shots.

Hutton and the Blues scraped out a 2-1 win over the Ducks in overtime. That's two victories in as many days for the 31-year-old. His record improves to 5-5-2 with a 2.65 goals against average and .901 save percentage.

Carter Hutton will be in net against the Ducks on Sunday.

Hutton has been a bit better over his last five outings. He's gone 2-1 with a shutout and seven goals against. With the Blues rested and the Ducks playing last night, this could be another good one for him.
Jan 15 - 12:18 PM

Carter Hutton shut out the San Jose Sharks on Saturday as the St. Louis Blues won 4-0.

St. Louis made it fairly easy for its backup, only asking him to turn aside 23 SOG for the shutout, his second with the Blues. It's the fifth of his increasingly respectable career as an NHL backup.
Jan 15 - 1:36 AM

Carter Hutton gets the Sharks on Saturday.

Jake Allen's backup netminder hasn't been very good this season, unfortunately. Through 15 games and nine starts he's posted a 4-5-2 record with a 2.85 GAA and a .896 save percentage.
Jan 14 - 11:59 AM

Carter Hutton allowed one goal on 27 shots in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Bruins.

Hutton entered the game at the start of the second period because starter Jake Allen was given the hook. Even though he was handed the loss, Hutton played pretty well in this game. He has a 4-5-2 record with a 2.85 goals-against-average and a .896 save percentage in 2016-17.
Jan 10 - 11:11 PM

In case you didn't know, Carter Hutton is totally ready for when pitchers and catchers arrive for the St. Louis Cardinals for Spring Training.

In the clip below you'll see Hutton walk into the indoor batting cage inside of Busch Stadium and take some pitchers - while wearing full pads that is. Hutton makes like a goalie/catcher hybrid and on more than one occasion exclaims, "that's fast!" This may not be fantasy relevant, but it's certainly a fun way to spend 75 seconds.
Jan 8 - 3:33 PM

Carter Hutton faced 28 shots and let three goals get past him as the St Louis Blues beat the Dallas Stars 4-3 Saturday night.

Hutton was also credited with an assist on Paul Stastny’s first period goal, which made him a interesting fantasy value. This was the third time in his career that he has been credited with an assist with the latest coming last season with the Predators. Hutton’s save percentage of .893 was the second consecutive time that he narrowly missed the .900 mark and it almost exactly matched his season performance of .890.
Jan 8 - 2:20 AM

It's been confirmed that Carter Hutton will be in net against the Stars on Saturday.

Unfortunately you may wish to find a more favorable matchup. Through a dozen games and eight starts, Hutton has posted a 3-4-2 record with a 2.92 GAA and a .890 save percentage.
Jan 7 - 2:39 PM

With Jake Allen away from the team to be with his wife as she gets set to give birth, it's likely that Carter Hutton will be called on to make the stat on Saturday against the Stars.

Through a dozen games and eight starts, Hutton has posted a 3-4-2 record with a 2.92 GAA and a .890 save percentage. Unfortunately, we'd seek out a more favorable matchup.
Jan 6 - 9:12 PM

Carter Hutton stopped 17 of 20 shots in St. Louis' 6-3 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Flyers had a 3-2 lead in the third period, but they allowed the Blues to score four consecutive goals over the last 15 minutes of the game. Hutton wasn't really busy tonight, but he did enough to help his team win the game. The Blues backup has a 3-4-2 record with a 2.92 goals-against-average and a .890 save percentage in 2016-17. He has no fantasy value in standard leagues.
