The New Jersey Devils have hired Tom Fitzgerald as their new assistant General Manager.
Fitzgerald held the same position with the Pittsburgh Penguins last season, but he has opted to join former GM Ray Shero in New Jersey. "He's a very good hockey man," Pens' GM Jim Rutherford said. "He's a guy we'll miss in our department." After a 17-year-career in the NHL, Shero gave Fitzgerald his first front office opportunity, so the fact that they are working together again makes sense. The Penguins haven't found a replacement for him just yet, but Rutherford believes they will promote someone from within. Sat, Jul 25, 2015 09:27:00 AM

Tom Fitzgerald has retired.

"I'm very proud to retire as a Boston Bruin," said Fitzgerald. "I came to Boston with an agenda, which was to play here and live out a childhood dream. I did that and I'm very lucky and very fortunate. I took a lot of pride in wearing that sweater and I'm walking away a very happy man." Fitzgerald played in 17 NHL seasons, scoring 139 goals and 329 points in 1097 NHL games. We wish him well in his future endeavors.

Tom Fitzgerald hopes to re-sign with the Bruins.

The 38-year-old is from the surrounding area and does not believe he will play anywhere else next season. While he still can be a decent third or fourth line forward, he will not contribute enough to be considered for fantasy purposes, should he return to Boston.

Tom Fitzgerald will miss the final game of the season because of a dislocated left thumb suffered during the second period of Tuesday night's loss in Ottawa.

Fitzgerald's hand is in a cast, which he said he'll wear for the next four weeks.

UFA Tom Fitzgerald signed a two-year contract with the Bruins.

A Boston native, Fitzgerald will add forward depth to the Bruins' lineup as a third or fourth-liner. He is not a fantasy asset. However, it is a nice story that he is going home, and we wish him the best.

Tom Fitzgerald, who had dressed for all nine of the Maple Leafs' playoff games leading into last evening's contest, was a healthy sscratch last night.

Someone had to give way to create a roster spot for Wade Belak, and since Clark Wilm has been playing well, Fitzgerald was the obvious choice to sit.

Tom Fitzgerald will play this evening against Buffalo, reports the Toronto Star.

He has been out of action since January 21st with a foot injury. We doubt Fitzgerald is on your fantasy team, but if he is, feel free to activate him.

Tom Fitzgerald missed last night's game against Washington due to a foot injury, reports the Toronto Star.

He blocked a shot against the Islanders on Tuesday night, and his foot was still sore yesterday. Consider Fitzgerald day-to-day.

Tom Fitzgerald will likely play tomorrow night against the Devils, reports the Toronto Star.

He has missed the past 4 weeks with a shoulder injury, and will take the roster spot of Alexander Mogilny who is out with a groin injury. Fitzgerald will skate on Toronto's fourth line with Tie Domi and Wade Belak tomorrow evening.

Tom Fitzgerald will open the season on the injured list.

He has been nursing a shoulder injury. Fitzgerald is a fourth liner, and has no fantasy value even when perfectly healthy.

Tom Fitzgerald will be back for the Leafs tonight.

Fitzgerald is over the ankle injury that has caused him to miss the last 2 weeks. Where he fits in the new Leafs lineup however is another story. With Doug Gilmour, Gary Roberts and Darcy Tucker out of action, Fitzgerald will have a spot in the lineup, but once the above are healthy he is probably out of luck. Adjust your lineup accordingly.

Tom Fitzgerald left last night's game with an ankle injury.

Fitzgerald will miss the next 7-10 days with a high ankle sprain. His injury will allow Jonas Hoglund back in the Leafs' lineup. Adjust your lineup accordingly.
