Michael Hutchinson allowed three goals on 26 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Dallas Stars.
This was Hutchinson's third start of the season and he's allowed three goals or more in each of those outings. It's clear that the Jets will be splitting the workload evenly between Hutchinson and Connor Hellebuyck, but that could change if one of them starts to stand out. Hutchinson has a 1-2-0 record with a 3.70 goals-against-average and a .887 save percentage this season. Oct 26 - 12:50 AM

Michael Hutchinson will be in goal Tuesday when Winnipeg visits Dallas.

This will be Hutchinson's third start, as he continues to share the crease with Connor Hellebuyck. Neither netminder has performed very well this season, so the number one job is still up for grabs.
Oct 25 - 1:32 PM

Michael Hutchinson allowed four goals on 40 shots in Winnipeg's 5-4 overtime win over Toronto.

Hutchinson's night didn't get off to the greatest start, as the Leafs pounded him for four goals in the first 27 minutes of action. With the Jets down 4-0, something changed. They battled back and eventually scored five unanswered goals to win the game. Hutchinson has a 1-1-0 record with a 4.02 goals-against-average and a .887 save percentage this season.
Oct 19 - 11:33 PM

Michael Hutchinson is likely to start Wednesday's game against Toronto.

He was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate, so he is expected to get the nod. Hutchinson and Connor Hellebuyck have been sharing starts in the early going for the Jets, but neither of them has performed particularly well yet. Hutchinson allowed four goals on 31 shots in his first outing of the season.
Oct 19 - 2:53 PM

Michael Hutchinson gave up four goals on 31 shots Saturday night in the Winnipeg Jets 4-3 loss to the Minnesota Wild.

The wild overpowered the Jets in the second period. Three of the goals scored against Hutchinson’s came in the second when the Wild outshot the Jets 12-2. Hutchinson simply got gunned down in that period by a motivated Wild team. "There was choice words by Bruce (Boudreau), I guess you could say, but they were the right things said. I think everybody knew that if we got to our game and got on our toes a little bit more that we would feel the momentum shift, and it did,'' said center Eric Staal.

Michael Hutchinson will get the start against the Wild on Saturday.

Hutchinson doesn't have a lot of NHL experience, just 71 games, but he's seen more of Minnesota than anyone else. Over seven games against the Wild, Hutch has posted a 3-2-1 record with just 14 goals against. You may still wish to find a more favorable matchup, but the Wild don't exactly boast a ton of firepower either.
Oct 15 - 1:52 PM

Michael Hutchinson will compete for starts with Connor Hellebuyck this season.

The Jets placed Ondrej Pavelec on waivers Monday and if clears then he will be assigned to the minors. "Both are playing. Both will have to be given the opportunity to grab it," said coach Paul Maurice referring to Hutchinson and Hellebuyck. "And they're both going to grab it at different times and they're also going to lose it at different times. That's where the growth comes. It's not just keep throwing a guy in, no matter the result. That's absolutely not the case. They have to fight for it and then perform under that pressure."
Oct 11 - 10:01 AM

Michael Hutchinson faced a withering attack by the Minnesota Wild Saturday night and watched five pucks fly past in their 5-1 loss.

Hutchinson was simply gunned down in the third; 16 of the Wild’s 34 shots came in the final period, while the Jets could only manage three shots on goal in retaliation. On Thursday, 10/29 Winnipeg defeated Minnesota 4-1, so this was sweet revenge.
Oct 8 - 11:39 PM

Michael Hutchinson will start against the Wild in Saturday's pre-season finale.

Well this is a bit of a surprise, given that Ondrej Pavelec is still the (presumed) owner of Winnipeg's crease. That being said, the Jets' goalie situation is ripe for the picking to any netminder who dials in early. Here's another opportunity for Hutchinson.
Oct 8 - 12:28 PM

Michael Hutchinson will play between the pipes in Friday's preseason game versus Edmonton.

Hutchinson had a 2.84 GAA and .907 save percentage in 30 games last season. He's entering the season as the Jets' backup goalie, but could end up challenging Ondrej Pavelec for that role as the campaign progresses.
Sep 30 - 1:22 PM

Michael Hutchinson has signed a new two-year contract with the Winnipeg Jets.

His new deal carries a very affordable annual average value of $1.150 million. Hutchinson struggled in 2015-16 with a 9-15-3 record, a 2.84 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage.
Jun 21 - 10:20 AM

Michael Hutchinson is sick with the flu, and will not make his scheduled start against the Kings on Saturday night.

Hutchinson finishes the season with a 9-15-3 record with a .907 save percentage and a 2.84 GAA. Quite the let down following his rookie campaign.
Apr 9 - 9:37 PM

Michael Hutchinson will face the Kings on Saturday night.

Through 71 games and 64 starts in his career, Hutchinson has posted a 32-26-8 record with a .912 save percentage and 2.54 GAA. He's fared the best against Pacific division foes, going 3-2-1 with 13 goals against and a .924 save percentage.
Apr 9 - 2:34 PM

Michael Hutchinson turned aside 27-of-28 shots in earning a 2-1 OT win over Anaheim on Tuesday.

He made some of his best saves in OT, denying Ryan Getzlaf on a clearcut breakaway. He seems to rise to the occasion against the Ducks, making 33 saves the last time he faced them. It has not been a strong year overall for Hutchinson. His 9-15-3 record is indicative of his 2.84 GAA and .907 save percentage.
Apr 6 - 2:34 AM

Michael Hutchinson is going to be in the crease for Winnipeg on Tuesday against Anaheim.

He has gone winless in his last three appearances, which included a 3-2 overtime loss to the Ducks on Mar. 20.
