Brandon Bollig appeared in all 82 games for the Blackhawks this season.
However, Bollig isn't sure if he's guaranteed himself a spot in the lineup for the playoffs. "There are a lot of guys fighting for playing time right now and earning their way in," he said. "It's nice to have that competition — it keeps guys fresh and keeps guys honest. Nobody gets complacent, and everyone's kind of fighting every night. That can be very good for a team because obviously everyone wants to play every game. The competition keeps guys hungry." He finished the year with seven goals and 14 points after not recording a point in his previous 43 NHL outings. Apr 14 - 12:28 PM

The Chicago Blackhawks have signed Brandon Bollig to a three year extension.

Bollig will receive $3.75 million over the length of the contract. Bollig has six goals and 12 points in 62 games with 69 penalty minutes and leads the team with 138 hits.

Brandon Bollig scored Chicago's only goal Sunday night in the Blackhawks' 3-1 loss to the visiting Winnipeg Jets.

It was Bollig's sixth goal of the season. The goal was scored early -- 1:21 into the first period, but it pretty well was all Winnipeg after that, with the Jets producing all three of their goals in the third period.

Brandon Bollig scored in Chicago's 3-2 loss to the Rangers on Wednesday.

Bollig entered the 2013-14 campaign with no points in his 43 NHL games, but he's registered four goals and five assists in 46 contests this season. He also has 65 penalty minutes and 92 hits.
Jan 9 - 11:08 AM

Brandon Bollig ranks third on the Chicago Blackhawks with 86 hits.

Bollig also has eight points and 61 penalty minutes in 39 games this season. He's earned a regular spot as a bottom-six forward, but he isn't likely to climb much further in the Blackhawks depth charts. For that reason, he's only worth owning in deeper leagues that put value on hits.

Brandon Bollig was the surprise fantasy star of Chicago's 5-1 win over Winnipeg during a matinee contest on Saturday.

He recorded an impressive stat line of a game-winning goal, an assist, three shots, two penalty minutes, two hits and a plus-3 rating versus the Jets. Marcus Kruger had two assists in the match, while defenseman Nick Leddy notched a goal and a helper. Patrick Sharp, Ben Smith and Niklas Hjalmarsson had the Hawks' other tallies in the win.

Brandon Bollig registered his first career NHL assist.

It took Bollig 54 games to achieve that. He is good for about two penalty minutes a game, but as you might have guessed he will do very little offensively this season.

Brandon Bollig wanted to contribute more offensively this season and he scored his first career goal in Tuesday's win over Washington.

"It's nice to already surpass my offensive output from the last couple of seasons," Bollig said. "It's nice to get that first one and start the season off well." He had gone 43 games without finding the back of the net before getting on the board early in the first period of Chicago's 6-4 win. Bollig logged just 8:04 of ice time in the match and he co-led the team with five hits.

Brandon Bollig wants to be more than just an enforcer.

"My role is to be that physical presence and play well defensively," Bollig said. "My goal would be to expand my role and responsibility and get more playing time. I'm not here to put the puck in the net every night but it's an added bonus. I'd like to do that more often." Over the past two seasons, he has no points and 109 penalty minutes in 43 games. If he wants to do more than just get penalty minutes then he's going to have to rid himself of that monkey on his back and produce an NHL point.

Brandon Bollig was a healthy scratch on Saturday.

Bollig played in the first two games of the Stanley Cup Final but has sat the last three games as Viktor Stalberg has retaken his spot in the Chicago lineup. Do not expect to see Bollig in for Game 6 unless injuries force the Blackhawks to need a bottom six forward.

Brandon Bollig is expected to be a healthy scratch on Monday.

Viktor Stalberg will take his spot in the lineup. Bollig had a minus-one rating and a team-low 8:42 minutes in Chicago's 2-1 overtime loss on Saturday.

Playing for the Blackhawks for the first time since May 5, center Brandon Bollig logged nine hits, tied for the Blackhawks' high (with Andrew Shaw and Bryan Bickell), in Chicago's triple-overtime victory over the Boston Bruins in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup championship series in Chicago, and impressed coach Joel Quenneville.

"I thought he had a real strong game for us. I liked what he brought to the team," Quenneville said. "I thought he was defensively responsible, that he ended up in the offensive zone a lot. Defensively, you're comfortable with him. I thought he was physical, thought he had a purpose behind his game. He brought what we were looking for."

Brandon Bollig will be ramped up for his Game 1 appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals, but he knows that he has to stay disciplined.

The Blackhawks have confirmed that Bollig will play and Viktor Stalberg will sit Wednesday night, which will add some grit to their lineup. "We want him to play hard, smart, within the whistles and bring that element," said coach Joel Quenneville.

Brandon Bollig, who is likely to enter the lineup for Game 1 of the Cup Finals, will look to provide some extra sandpaper to the Hawks' game.

Bollig hasn't played since Game 3 of the first-round series against the Wild, but he skated on the fourth line in practice Tuesday. "That's definitely what it is if I do go in, because that's what I provide," Bollig said. "I provide physicality. I'm just looking to play my game and provide that presence. I'm just looking to play the same way and not change a thing." The Bruins are a straight-line, bang-bodies type of team and Bollig's addition should help Chicago combat that.
