Coach Bob Hartley has elected to forego any lineup changes for Saturday's match with San Jose.
That means Brandon Bollig, Mason Raymond, and Ladislav Smid will each be scratched again. Of the three, only Bollig is worth your attention at this time with 40 hits and 49 PIMs through 17 games. Nov 28 - 9:24 PM

Brandon Bollig, Mason Raymond, and Ladislav Smid will each be scratched for Friday's match with Arizona.

Of the three, only Bollig has managed to contribute to the fantasy stat sheet with any authority. Through 17 games the bruising winger has and impressive 40 hits and 49 PIMs. Keep that in mind next time you need a quick tough guy plug.

Brandon Bollig will tag in for Josh Jooris in Friday's game with the Capitals.

Through 12 games Bollig has a goal, 33 hits, and 35 PIMs. So if you're in a league that rewards tough guys, he's a sweet one-night filler.
Nov 13 - 6:44 PM

Brandon Bollig, Mason Raymond, and Ladislav Smid will each be scratched against the Panthers on Tuesday night.

Unfortunately, only Bollig is of any fantasy value between the three. He has 33 hits and 35 PIMs in just a dozen games thus far.
Nov 10 - 7:30 PM

Brandon Bollig and Ladislav Smid will be scratched against the Penguins on Saturday.

While Smid has put up nice numbers with seven blocks and 10 hits in just three games, it's Bollig who's been the tough guy stat contributor. The bruising forward has amassed 33 hits and 35 PIMs over 12 games thus far.
Nov 7 - 7:40 PM

Brandon Bollig scored his first goal of the season in Saturday's 5-4 win over Edmonton.

Off a pretty deflection, Bollig got the party started less than two minutes into the game. He'd go on to contribute five hits on the evening, bringing his total to 27.
Nov 1 - 1:07 AM

Brandon Bollig will return to the Flames' lineup Saturday night against the rival Oilers.

Through nine games thus far, the rugged Bollig has 22 hits and 35 PIMs already. Impressive to say the least, and quite valuable to anyone in a league that rewards tough guys.
Oct 31 - 7:55 PM

Brandon Bollig and Jakub Nakladal will sit out Friday's tilt with Detroit.

Unfortunately, neither have much fantasy value but Bollig can be a nice one-day filler if needed. Through six games thus far he already has 19 PIMs and 12 hits.

Brandon Bollig has undergone nose surgery.

Bollig had his nose straightened out. The tough winger will likely get into a few more fights in his NHL career so we have to wonder if it would have made more sense to have waited until his career was over.

Although the Flames managed to pull off a come-from-behind overtime win in Game 3, Brandon Bollig sees Game 4 as another must-win.

That's perfectly reasonable given that Anaheim won the first two games of the series. A 3-1 deficit might be more practical to come back from than 3-0, but it's still far from ideal. So if Calgary can't win Game 4 at home then it will be in a very tricky spot going forward. "In my opinion, last game was as close to a must-win or do-or-die game for us as it gets. We found a way to win, and I think Game 4 is going to be the exact same way," Bollig said. "We can't afford to lose on home ice. We have to even the series. We know that." Bollig has two goals in nine playoff games, including a marker in Game 3 on Tuesday.

May 8 - 10:00 AM

Brandon Bollig scored the opening goal in Calgary's 4-3 overtime win over Anaheim in Game 3.

His second goal of the playoffs, and his first since Game 3 versus Vancouver, got the Flames on the board just 2:07 into the contest. Calgary rallied from 2-1 and 3-2 deficits to get their first win against the Ducks in their second-round series.

Brandon Bollig provided a laugh for his teammates on Friday to ease the tension.

The young Flames are into the second round of the playoffs and coach Bob Hartley thought the players needed a good laugh so he showed Bollig's movie debut to the team. "I came to the rink (Friday), and Bob asked if I would mind that he put it at the end of the video, and I said, ‘Absolutely not,’ " Bollig said after Saturday’s practice session in Anaheim. "I knew exactly how it would go. I knew guys would get a kick out of it. I knew it would lighten the mood. They've been calling me my character’s name since that, so I think they enjoyed it. They got a pretty good kick out of it. They didn’t stop talking about it all day, so I think it served its purpose." Bollig was only 12 at the time the movie was shot so it appears that an acting career after his NHL career is over may not be in the cards.

May 3 - 7:36 AM

Brandon Bollig thinks the Flames that are going through their first year of playoff hockey have a good feel for it at this point.

"They get it," said Bollig. "They understand. They've seen the crowds. They've seen the physicality. They've seen how intense everything is, how every mistake is magnified. These guys, I know it’s their first crack at it, but getting that experience is huge. Once you've been there, you've been there. These guys have stepped up big and I can only imagine that they're going to continue to do so." The Flames are a young team without a ton of postseason experience, but Bollig is one of the exceptions. He previously played in Chicago and won the Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks.
Apr 30 - 9:39 AM

The Calgary Flames are happy to play the underdogs.

Brandon Bollig has experience in both roles, having played for the dangerous Chicago Blackhawks before being shipped to Calgary over the summer. "The fact we made the playoffs and the fact we won in the first round, we've proven a lot of people wrong. It's rewarding. It's satisfying. It's a heck of a feeling," said Bollig. "Being on a team like Chicago, when you're among the powerhouses of the league, it's expected. Here, it takes the pressure out of it. But we're confident. We know what we have in this room and know what we're capable of. We know we're capable of playing with anyone in the league, so it's an exciting feeling." The Flames have certainly defied the odds, but they're set to face yet another big challenge in Anaheim in the second round.

Apr 29 - 5:23 AM

Brandon Bollig leads the Calgary Flames in penalty minutes with 88.

The former Blackhawk has given the Flames some much needed toughness in the lineup. He had a big penalty minute night on Thursday as he had 20 minutes including a major for boarding, a major for fighting and a game misconduct. He has a goal and five points with a minus-eight rating in 60 games so you know where his fantasy value is in traditional pools.
