Michael Latta will be scratched for Game Five against the NY Rangers on Friday night.

Latta has been largely ineffective during the playoffs through four games as he has yet to contribute to the score sheet. None of Latta's action has come against the Rangers.

Michael Latta will be a healthy scratch for Game 4 Wednesday night against the Rangers.

Latta has not played in a game versus the Rangers as of yet and with the Caps leading the series, we wouldn't expect that to change. Curtis Glencross was scratched for Latta for four games during the team’s opening round series versus the Islanders but Glencross has apparently solidified his spot in the lineup against the Rangers as of now.
May 6 - 5:41 PM

Michael Latta will watch Monday night’s Game 3 versus the New York Rangers from the press box again.

Head coach Barry Trotz will keep the same lineup from Games 1 and 2 so Curtis Glencross will be out there while Latta will be a healthy scratch. Latta had played in four games versus the Islanders and was unable to register a shot, let alone a point.
May 4 - 5:20 PM

Michael Latta will be a healthy scratch for Monday’s Game 7 matchup with the New York Islanders.

Head coach Barry Trotz will elect to go with the veteran Curtis Glencsross for Game 7, which means Latta will move back to the press box. Latta, just 23-years-old, skated in four games during the best of seven series with the Islanders and has not picked up a point or shot on goal yet while seeing limited ice-time.
Apr 27 - 5:12 PM

Michael Latta will tag in for Curtis Glencross and center the fourth line against the NY Islanders on Tuesday night in Game Four.

Unfortunately, Latta does not have much fantasy value as he has put up just 10 points, 80 PIMs, and 105 hits in 70 career games over the last two regular seasons. However Latta is centering Brooks Laich and Tom Wilson, which could combine for a fairly effective energy line.
Apr 21 - 6:04 PM

Michael Latta, Justin Peters and Andre Burakovsky will be healthy scratches in game three against the Islanders on Sunday.

Latta, 23, had no goals and six assists in 53 games this season. He is more of an energy player with a little bit of upside. Burakovsky was Washington's first round pick in 2013. The 20-year-old had nine goals and 22 points in 53 games in 2014-15. Peters has served as the Caps backup goaltender all season but they prefer to go with Braden Holtby and Philipp Grubauer.
Apr 19 - 12:12 PM

Michael Latta (upper body) is projected to return Thursday night at Minnesota.

He has sat out the last six games with an upper-body injury that he sustained on Mar. 3 against Columbus. Latta has five assists and 56 penalty minutes in 42 games this year.
Mar 18 - 4:50 PM

Michael Latta has sustained an upper-body injury.

Latta suffered an upper-body injury during Tuesday's game. He has five points and 56 penalty minutes in 42 contests in 2014-15. Andre Burakovsky has been called up to help fill the void.
Mar 5 - 10:27 AM

Michael Latta was made a late addition to the lineup against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night.

It'll be Latta's first game after missing the previous two, and he's expected to center Jay Beagle and Tom Wilson on Washington's fourth line. Latta has only managed 41 games this season, compiling five points, 51 PIMs, and 74 hits.
Mar 3 - 6:36 PM

Michael Latta and Aaron Volpatti will be scratched against the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night.

Since returning from a lengthy injury on Feb. 3rd, Volpatti has played just one other game with nothing to show for his efforts. Latta meanwhile has 51 PIMs and 74 hits through 41 games this season.
Feb 27 - 6:43 PM

Michael Latta will be back in the Capitals lineup Wednesday night against the Penguins.

Latta has appeared in just two games since the new year but will get another chance Wednesday versus Pittsburgh as he draws back into the lineup. He's put up just four assists in 30 games this season but does have 39 penalty minutes and 53 hits. Head coach Barry Trotz has yet to determine who will come out of the lineup to make room for Latta.
Jan 28 - 6:59 PM

Michael Latta and Cameron Schilling will be healthy scratches against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night.

Latta entices with his 39 PIMs and 53 hits through 30 games, but has had trouble staying in the lineup. Schilling has posted just 28 points through 110 games with AHL Hershey, but he does have 122 PIMs in that time as well.
Jan 27 - 7:13 PM

Michael Latta will be a healthy scratch against the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night.

Latta has played just twice in 2015 with little to show for it. But he has 39 PIMs and 53 hits in 30 games this season. If your league rewards gritty forwards like him, keep on eye on him if he ever gets back into the lineup consistently.
Jan 20 - 6:22 PM

Michael Latta will be held out of the lineup once again Wednesday night against the Flyers.

Caps Head Coach Barry Trotz has been wanting to get Latta back in the lineup, but with the way their fourth line (Jason Chimera, Jay Beagle, and Tom Wilson) has played recently, it won't be Wednesday. Latta hasn't dressed since the Winter Classic and in 29 games played this season, he has just four assists and no goals.
