Date:

Michael Latta and Cameron Schilling will be healthy scratches against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night.

Latta entices with his 39 PIMs and 53 hits through 30 games, but has had trouble staying in the lineup. Schilling has posted just 28 points through 110 games with AHL Hershey, but he does have 122 PIMs in that time as well.

Michael Latta will be a healthy scratch against the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night.

Latta has played just twice in 2015 with little to show for it. But he has 39 PIMs and 53 hits in 30 games this season. If your league rewards gritty forwards like him, keep on eye on him if he ever gets back into the lineup consistently.

Michael Latta will be held out of the lineup once again Wednesday night against the Flyers.

Caps Head Coach Barry Trotz has been wanting to get Latta back in the lineup, but with the way their fourth line (Jason Chimera, Jay Beagle, and Tom Wilson) has played recently, it won't be Wednesday. Latta hasn't dressed since the Winter Classic and in 29 games played this season, he has just four assists and no goals.
Jan 14 - 5:26 PM

Michael Latta is a healthy scratch in Monday's game against Colorado.

The 23-year-old has just four assists in 29 games for the Caps this season. He has no fantasy value unless you're in a league that takes penalty minutes into account. Latta has 39 penalty minutes to date, and he is on pace to hit 94 PIM in total.
Jan 12 - 7:08 PM

Michael Latta, Aaron Volpatti, and Steve Olesky will all sit out Saturday's tilt against the Detroit Red Wings.

Neither Volpatti or Olesky have appeared in an NHL game this season, while Latta will be sitting out for his fourth straight game. Latta has 53 hits and 39 PIMs through 28 games so far this season.

Jan 10 - 6:35 PM

Michael Latta will sit for his third straight game on Thursday against the Flyers.

Latta has 53 hits and 39 PIMs through 28 games so far this season, but if his seat gets any warmer in Coach Trotz's doghouse, it'll be nearly impossible to recommend him for your fantasy squad.

Michael Latta and Nate Schmidt will be healthy scratches against Toronto on Wednesday.

Latta has 53 hits and 39 PIMs through 28 games so far this season. But he only gets a bit over eight minutes per game. Schmidt has barely produced half of that production. Neither are valuable fantasy options.

Michael Latta is not in the lineup for the Caps in Arizona on Tuesday night.

It's the fourth time he's sat in the first 18 games of the season, so there may not be much to read into here. Jack Hillen, who's played just once, also will join him in the seats.
