Jordan was recalled Monday by the Canes as an emergency callup but was a healthy extra Tuesday against the New York Rangers.

Michal Jordan has played two games for the Hurricanes since being recalled from the minors.

He logged just 8:43 of ice time in Monday's 3-0 loss to Montreal, but played over 12 minutes in his NHL debut versus Toronto last Thursday. Jordan is playing because of injuries to Carolina's back end.

Michal Jordan has been brought up by Carolina.

The Hurricanes are dealing with injuries to Joni Pitkanen, who won't play, and Tim Gleason, who is questionable. Coach Kirk Muller said Jordan will serve as a "safety valve" if Gleason can't dress. He has tallied six goals, nine assists and a plus-11 rating in 48 games with AHL Charlotte this season and would be making his NHL debut if gets the opportunity to play.

Carolina has agreed to terms with Michal Jordan on a three-year, entry-level deal.

The team has also assigned him to the minors. Jordan was the Canes' fourth-round selection, 105th overall, in the 2008 draft. He has spent the last three seasons in the OHL with the Plymouth Whalers.
