He skated in three games with the Hurricanes during his latest NHL stint and he contributed one goal and two assists. He didn't have a point with Carolina this season in his previous 16 outings.

Jordan didn't record a single point in his first 16 contests this season, but he now has three points in his last two games. We wouldn't count on his recent hot streak to last much longer.

Ron Hainsey missed Friday's practice due to flu-like symptoms. He still might play on Saturday, but Jordan is now available in case the Hurricanes need him. Jordan has no points in 16 contests with Carolina in 2014-15.

The youngster has a lot of promise and will rejoin the lineup Saturday night in Tampa Bay. He has yet to register a point in 13 games played this season, but it's a long season and he figures to turn it around soon enough. Tim Gleason will be scratched in place of Jordan.

Look for Michal Jordan to see full-time duty on the Carolina blueline with the trade of Jay Harrison to Winnipeg.

The Hurricanes did not get a lot for the veteran Harrison (a sixth round pick) but thought the play of Jordan of late, warranted getting him in the lineup full-time. Jordan is not fantasy-worthy as he is a minus-four with nary a point in 11 games thus far after a two goal, seven point performance in the AHL to start the season in 15 games.

Coach Peters plans to dress seven defensement on Friday night against Pittsbugh.

Sekera-Faulk; Hainsey-Liles; Gleason-Jordan; Harrison will be your blue liners, Canes fans. Coach Peters said Friday morning that "a couple guys [are] banged up" on defense, and don't want to risk being undermanned on defense if the worst should happen.

He's with the team as insurance because John-Michael Liles got "dinged up" against Washington on Saturday and Tim Gleason is returning from injury. If they are both able to play then Jordan will serve as an extra.

He will earn $550,000 in the NHL or $200,000 at the AHL level. He will also get a guarantee of $225,000. Jordan didn't play a game with Carolina last season, but he had 25 points from the back end in 70 matches for the AHL's Charlotte Checkers.

The Carolina Hurricanes reassigned defenseman Michal Jordan to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League.

Jordan was recalled Monday by the Canes as an emergency callup but was a healthy extra Tuesday against the New York Rangers.
