Colin Greening has been sent to the minors.
Greening successfully cleared waivers on Wednesday. He hasn't played for Ottawa since Jan. 8, so at least this will give him an opportunity to shake off the rust. He has a goal in 20 games in 2014-15. Jan 28 - 1:57 PM

Colin Greening went unclaimed on waivers.

No surprise there. The Senators had been trying to trade Greening and putting him on waivers was presumably their last resort. He has a goal and no assists in 20 games this season.

Colin Greening has been placed on waivers by the Ottawa Senators.

The Senators have been openly shopping Greening as he hasn't been used since Jan. 8. If he clears then he'll likely be sent to the minors.

Ottawa is trying to find a new team for Colin Greening.

GM Bryan Murray told the 28-year-old winger that he is shopping him around the league. Greening is likely going to remain as a healthy scratch for a while because Chris Neil is close to returning and the Senators would like to find a way to keep Jean-Gabriel Pageau around. However, Greening is unlikely to attract many trade suitors, so he'll probably end up on waivers with the intention of sending him to the minors. That could happen shortly after the All-Star break.

Colin Greening and Patrick Wiercioch are expected to sit out a second straight game on Tuesday night against Dallas.

Colin Greening and Patrick Wiercioch will sit out Saturday's tilt against the Arizona Coyotes.

While Wiercioch is lacking in fantasy value with four points and 18 PIMs through 24 games, Greening meanwhile has 27 PIMs and 64 hits over just 20 games. Neither are great options, but Greening gives you better bang for the buck when he plays.

Colin Greening scored his first goal of the year in Monday's win over Buffalo.

He scored into an empty net to give Ottawa a 5-2 lead with just two seconds remaining in the third period. Sometimes even a simple goal like that can get a player going, but in Greening's case we wouldn't expect much. He has one point in 16 games this campaign and he shouldn't be on your fantasy radar.

Colin Greening finds himself back on the sidelines Wednesday night versus the Devils.

After playing in Ottawa’s last three games, Greening will once again be a healthy scratch. He has yet to produce a point in 11 games this year, while posting a minus four rating. With Greening out, Jean-Gabriel Pageau will make his season debut.

Colin Greening, Mika Zibanejad, and Mark Borowiecki will all be healthy scratches against Florida on Friday night.

Ottawa sits just one point behind Toronto for the second Wild Card slot and three points behind Boston for the first, so it's telling to see who Coach MacLean thinks gives his team the best chance to win.

Colin Greening is closing in on a return from a nagging lower-body injury.

He will travel with his teammates to Long Island and is listed as probable for Tuesday's game against the Islanders. As he has only 17 points in 73 games this season, Greening is not really a fantasy asset.
