Playing in front of their home crowd for the first time in the series, the Sens avoided the dreaded 0-3 series deficit with the victory. Daniel Alfredsson's goal with 30 seconds remaining in regulation tied the score and forced the extra time.

Erik Condra and Jared Cowen picked up assists on Greening's first marker of the postseason. Greening didn't have a point against Montreal in five games during the opening round. Cory Conacher ended up with four penalty minutes, while Mika Zibanejad, Milan Michalek and Marc Methot led the Senators with four shots on goal apiece.

Greening will be the first NHL player to go to Denmark this season as the pickings are becoming slim, especially for lesser skilled NHL players. Greening, a former seventh round selection, was a pleasant surprise for the Senators last season as he potted 17 goals and 37 points.

Colin Greening was still looking for a spot in Europe to play prior to the NHLPA receiving the league's latest proposal on Tuesday.

"The spots over there are pretty few and far between," he said. "Teams are worried about the lockout ending and their transfer cards. I don't know all the ins and outs of it, but I know teams are hesitant to bring guys over because it could be a temporary situation. There's insurance. There are a lot of factors that go into it." European clubs and NHL players may be more reluctant to agree to contracts now that there appears to be some light at the end of the tunnel in new CBA discussions. Still, Greening said he would like to find a way to stay sharp for when the season does start. In 82 games last year, he posted 17 goals, 189 hits and 37 points.
