Colin Greening is practicing with the Maple Leafs on Wednesday.
He is in the NHL on an emergency recall after he was acquired from Ottawa in the Dion Phaneuf trade on Tuesday. Greening has played most of the 2015-16 season in the AHL, but he may get a chance with the Leafs because of the team's injury problems up front. Feb 10 - 2:08 PM

Ottawa has traded Colin Greening to Toronto.

The deal involved nine players and it sent Dion Phaneuf to the Senators. Greening has suited up in just one game with Ottawa this season and he has 13 points in 41 AHL contests.

The Ottawa Senators have sent Colin Greening to the minors.

Greening participated in Thursday's game against Chicago, but was only on the ice for 4:00 minutes. The 29-year-old is an organizational depth forward.

Colin Greening won't play in Tuesday's match with the Flyers.

Greening hasn't dressed for the Senators since March, so don't expect that to change unless a bottom-six forward is suspended, sick, and injured.

Colin Greening and Mike Kostka will be scratched against the Coyotes on Saturday night.

Unfortunately there isn't much fantasy value to speak of for this pair of 29-year-olds. Kostka is a career tweener, and Greening's time in Ottawa will come to an end just as soon as they find the right deal for him or they'll continue to bury him in AHL Binghamton.

Colin Greening and Mike Kostka will be scratched against the Stars on Tuesday night.

The pair of 29-year-olds have yet to dress for Ottawa this season, and are only up as extra bodies should someone go down or fall ill. Greening has posted nine points in 13 games for AHL Binghamton, while Kostka has six points. Neither have any potential fantasy value, unfortunately.

Colin Greening has been summoned from the minors.

Greening dressed in 26 games with Ottawa last season, but he was waived before the start of the 2015-16 campaign and assigned to the Senators' AHL team. In 16 games with Binghamton, Greening has notched four goals and nine points.

The Ottawa Senators have assigned Colin Greening to the AHL.

The 29-year-old had just one goal and a minus-5 rating in 26 games last season. Greening has two years remaining on his contract that will pay him $2.65 million per season. The Senators will carry $1.7 million of dead money on their salary cap while Greening is in the minors.

Colin Greening has been placed on waivers by the Ottawa Senators.

Greening is on the second season of a three-year, $7.95 million contract. So far that deal is looking like a disaster as he only played in 26 games with Ottawa in 2014-15.

Colin Greening (concussion) took part in Monday's practice.

It marked his first session since he was hit high by Buffalo's Jason Akeson last week. Greening could be available for preseason as early as this week if he gets clearance from doctors.

Colin Greening will particiapte in a full off-ice workout Saturday.

This is good news as Greening could have sustained a concussion after getting hit in the head by the Sabres' Jason Akeson in Thursday's game. Despite this positive turn of events, Greening has no fantasy value.

Senators' assistant GM Pierre Dorion confirmed that the team won't be buying out winger Colin Greening.

Part of the reason the team won't be buying out Greening is because his contract is $10,000 under the average salary that is allowed during the buyout period. The 29-year-old had a season to forget in 2015-16. He scored just one goal in 26 games and was made a healthy scratch on most nights. The Senators are unlikely to find a trade partner for Greening's services.

It looks like the Ottawa Senators probably won't buy out Colin Greening's contract.

Instead, the Senators are more likely to bundle Greening in a trade with a goaltender. Getting rid of Greening would clear $2.65 million annually in cap space through 2016-17. He was limited to 26 games with the Senators in 2014-15 and finished with just one point.

Colin Greening, Jared Cowen, and Zack Smith will watch Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals series from the press box Wednesday night.

Greening has been unable to crack the deep Senators lineup since March 29th and will remain held out in the playoffs barring an injury. In 26 games this season, he was able to score just one goal with 29 penalty minutes. Cowen played in 54 games with the Sens this year, scoring three goals and 9 points with a minus 11 rating but has not been in the lineup since March 29th. And Smith was able to tally two goals and an assist in 37 games this season. None of these players carry any fantasy value for the playoffs.

Colin Greening will suit up in Monday' game against San Jose.

He's getting back into the lineup after nine games in the press box because of injuries to Matt Puempel and Milan Michalek. Greening has one goal and 37 shots in 23 games this season.
