Matt Bartkowski (flu) will get back into the fold on Tuesday night.

He didn't play on Saturday because he was feeling under the weather.
Mar 1 - 2:11 PM

Canucks fans were briefly a-flutter with trade excitement as Matt Bartkowksi was listed as a scratch Sunday night, alas he merely has the flu.

Through 59 games this season the 27-year-old defender has posted five goals and 15 points, just three shy of his high water mark set two seasons ago with Boston. He also has 38 PIMs and 100 hits on the year.
Feb 28 - 7:13 PM

Matt Bartkowski had a can for the memory books during Thursday's 5-3 win over Ottawa.

Bartkowski scored twice and added an assist, for his first career two-goal games as well as three-point game. He's now up to five goals on the season (and career) with 15 points, just three shy of the high water mark set with Boston two seasons ago.
Feb 26 - 1:25 AM

Matt Bartkowski had an assist in Vancouver's 3-2 loss to Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

Bartkowski has two goals and four points in 12 games this season. While that's not a lot, it's already matched his points total from the 2014-15 campaign.

Matt Bartkowski will fill in for the injured Dan Hamhuis on Tuesday night against Montreal.

Unfortunately, Bartkowski isn't much of a fantasy factor with just two points and little else to show for his efforts.

Matt Bartkowski and Adam Cracknell will be scratched for Saturday's tilt with the Red Wings.

Both Bartkowski and Cracknell are off to nice starts this season with a pair of points already, but there's nary another meaningful metric to their names. Which is unfortunate for Cracknell in particular as he was previously a reliable contributor of tough guy stats.

After 137 NHL games, Matt Bartkowski scored his first career goal in the Canucks 2-1 OT loss to the Oilers on Sunday.

Daniel Sedin and Radim Vrbata totaled 13 shots on Nilsson, but it was Bartkowski who was able to beat the Oilers netminder. His goal was assisted by Sven Baertschi and Dan Hamhuis. Bartkowski is nothing more than a depth defenseman and shouldn't be owned in any fantasy leagues.

Matt Bartkowski has signed a one-year deal with Vancouver.

He will make $1.75 million. Bartkowski has no goals and 24 assists in 131 NHL games in his career.

Matt Bartkowski will test the open market on Wednesday.

Boston GM Don Sweeney confirmed that Bartkowski will become an unrestricted free agent. He picked up four assists, 88 hits and a minus-6 rating in 47 games with the Bruins last season.

There is a very good chance Matt Bartkowski will not be back in Boston next season.

The 26-year-old defenseman is an unrestricted free agent and did not have a stellar season with the Bruins in 2014-15. Bartkowski was often a healthy scratch and fell well short of Boston management's expectations. Look for him to find employment somewhere else in the NHL this upcoming campaign.

Matt Bartkowski logged 13:02 of ice time in a 4-3 overtime loss to Calgary on Monday night.

The oft-scratched defenseman had not been in the lineup since Jan. 31. Adam McQuaid was in the press box on Monday, but both of them should be in the fold against Edmonton on Wednesday after Kevan Miller was injured Monday.

Don't be surprised if Matt Bartkowski draws back into the Boston lineup Monday against Calgary.

The Bruins defense was just awful as they gift-wrapped a 5-2 win for the Canucks Friday night. There were many giveaways in that contest and Bruins' coach Claude Julien may opt to insert the mobile, but often scratched, Bartkowski into the lineup to shake up his blueline. He hasn't played since Dec. 31. The fact he may play against the Flames does not make Bartkowski fantasy worthy, however.

Matt Bartkowski and Jordan Caron will be healthy scratches against Vancouver on Friday night.

The beds Barkowski and Caron have made in Coach Julien's doghouse have become nice and warm this winter, as only Caron has seen game action (three games) since the turned to 2015. No ice time, no value.

Matt Bartkowski and Jordan Caron will be healthy scratches against Dallas on Tuesday night.

Of the two, only Caron has played since the calendar turned. And that's all of three games. With four points and 26 games between them, neither are much of an option for your squad.
