Teemu Hartikainen could be sent to the minors according to the Edmonton Journal.

It really depends on the health of Eric Belanger. If Belanger is ready to return to action from a groin injury, then the Oilers will be over the 23 man limit forcing a move. Stay tuned.
Mar 19 - 9:31 AM

Teemu Hartikainen is another Edmonton Oilers player returning to the lineup on Sunday.

The Oil could use the shot in the arm after an awful showing against the Nashville Predators on Friday. Hartikainen is the least fantasy-relevant of a comeback trio including Ales Hemsky and Shawn Horcoff.
Mar 10 - 2:59 PM

Teemu Hartikainen has started skating after being placed on the injured reserve list Feb. 25 with a shoulder injury.

Hartikainen has only a goal and three points in 16 games but he does have some offensive upside. Unfortunately he may not get a great chance to show his stuff off in Edmonton as the Oilers have a ton of firepower up front.
Mar 4 - 9:06 AM

Teemu Hartikainen has been placed on the injured reserve list with a sore shoulder.

Hartikainen has a goal and three points in 16 games this season. He has some offensive upside despite those numbers, but we can't recommend owning him in standard leagues.
Feb 25 - 2:26 PM

Teemu Hartikainen netted a power-play goal in Edmonton's 3-2 shootout win Saturday.

Jordan Eberle scored his sixth goal of the season. Nail Yakupov, Sam Gagner, Ryan Smyth, and Justin Schultz each registered an assist for Edmonton. Gagner also netted the deciding goal in the shootout.

Teemu Hartikainen returned to action on Tuesday February 19.

Feb 20 - 1:49 AM

Look for Teemu Hartikainen to return to the Edmonton lineup Tuesday after suffering an apparent shoulder injury Saturday.

"I got a bad hit from a bad angle that pushed my shoulder down. It hurt during the game and yesterday, but it feels pretty good now," Hartikainen said. "Everything looks OK. I can shoot. I can pass. I don't feel anything when I'm on the ice. I think I'm good to go." Should Hartikainen suffer a setback, the Oilers will go with 11 forwards and seven defensemen.
Feb 19 - 9:14 AM

Oilers winger Teemu Hartikainen was forced to leave Saturday's win over the Avalanche with an apparent shoulder injury.

Hartikainen played just 8:33 and registered one shot on goal before departing with the injury. The severity is not yet known, but we advise you to remove him from your lineup until further notice.
Feb 17 - 10:07 AM

The Edmonton Oilers are thinking of using left winger Teemu Harikainen alongide star forwards Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jordan Eberle for their game in Detroit today.

The big Finn has been playing some hard, effective hockey the last few games and might not look at all out of place skating with Nugent-Hopkins and Eberle, as he did Friday before the team boarded a plane for Michigan. It’d be a nice promotion for the 215-pound 22-year-old. "I started with six minutes of ice time and now I’m getting 10 minutes and 12 minutes. I see that I’m doing things right and coaches are starting to trust me more and more," Hartikainen said. "My confidence is going up. I’m seeing that I can beat guys in the corners. I can take it to the net and create a lot of scoring chances in a game. That’s what I have to be at the NHL level. It’s just hard work. You have to earn those minutes, they don’t give them to you. I’ve been trying to do that."
Feb 9 - 10:04 AM

Teemu Hartikainen will return to the lineup on Monday against Colorado.

He will replace Darcy Hordichuk after being a healthy scratch for Saturday's contest. Hartikainen has no points and three shots, with a minus-1 rating, in three games with the Oilers this year.
Jan 28 - 3:59 PM

If the lockout ends soon, Teemu Hartikainen could be part of the Edmonton Oilers' opening game roster.

Hartikainen is having a great season in the AHL with six goals and 16 points in 20 games. Magnus Paajarvi is another possibility, but Hartikainen's stock might be a bit higher at the moment and at this point there probably won't be a proper training camp to provide both players with a chance to make their case. That being said, even if Hartikainen or Paajarvi don't make the team, they will probably be among the first called up in the event of an injury to one of the Oilers' forwards.

Teemu Hartikainen could get a shot one of Edmonton's top-two lines once the NHL lockout is over.

It's possible that he gets a look there since he has played well alongside Jordan Eberle and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins in the minors with Oklahoma City and he may be able to turn his tryout into a big-league roster spot. He has nine points in 10 games with the Barons, but his ability to score and utilize his size may give him an edge over a player like Magnus Paajarvi. The presence of veteran players Ryan Smyth and Ales Hemsky could drop him into the bottom-six group as well if he can stay around at the NHL level. Still, if there's an abbreviated and a season this year, Hartikainen could be an interesting player to watch.

Teemu Hartikainen may keep his spot on the top line for the Oklahoma City Barons despite Taylor Hall's likely arrival into the lineup on Friday.

He has registered seven points in seven games alongside Jordan Eberle and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. "Harty's got pretty good hands around the net," said Barons coach Todd Nelson. "Lots of his goals come in tight, off secondary chances. He's also doing a heck of a job on the power play, in front of the net, mirroring the goalie." Hall has been given the green light to play after recovering from shoulder surgery, but he may play with Mark Arcobello and Magnus Paajarvi.

Teemu Hartikainen will try to focus more on being a power forward as opposed to a pure scorer.

"I’ve been playing that way all my life, but when I came over here (to North America from Finland) I didn’t know how I should I play. Do I need to score a lot of points and be a really good player in the stats? Now I know," Hartikainen said. He'll put a greater emphasis on getting in front of the net and hitting hard. He has five goals and 10 points in 29 career NHL games.
