Andrew Desjardins had two assists and 10 penalty minutes in the Sharks 7-2 shellacking over the Kings on Sunday.
The Sharks are getting scoring from all four lines as every San Jose forward who has played has at least two points in the series. They are going to be tough to beat if this continues as the Sharks will be tough to defend against. Apr 21 - 9:20 AM

Andrew Desjardins recorded an assist in San Jose's 2-1 shootout win over Washington.

Desjardins has 11 points and 63 penalty minutes in 46 contests in 2013-14. You would have to be in a pretty deep league to justify using Desjardins.

Andrew Desjardins scored a goal in San Jose's 4-1 win on Thursday.

It was Desjardins' first goal since Oct. 27. He's more of a defensive forward and has just 10 points in 44 games this season.

Andrew Desjardins was a healthy scratch for the first time this season on Saturday.

The center was getting fourth line minutes but coach Todd McLellan decided to go with a line of John McCarthy, James Sheppard and Mike Brown as his fourth unit. Desjardins has a goal and five points in 22 games with 33 penalty minutes.

Andrew Desjardins has signed a two-year contract with San Jose.

"Andrew is a player that plays with an edge, can kill penalties and has the ability to play the North-South game we desire," said GM Doug Wilson. "He always competes hard as is always there for his teammates." Desjardins played in 42 games with the Sharks in 2013, where he registered two goals, one assist, 61 penalty minutes, 53 hits

Andrew Desjardins will be a restricted free agent this summer.

He had three points and 63 penalty minutes in 42 games during the regular season. Desjardins probably doesn't warrant a long-term commitment from the Sharks, but he should be able to get a one-year deal to stay on board with the team.

Andrew Desjardins returned to action Friday against the Blackhawks.

After missing a two weeks due to an illness, Desjardins took 13 shifts and played 7:13 in his fourth-line center role Friday night. Needless to say he has no fantasy value.

San Jose Sharks activate Andrew Desjardins off injured reserve.

If Desjardins plays Tuesday night, it will likely be as the fourth-line center. He has 36 penalty minutes in 10 games this season and has very little value in most leagues.

Andrew Desjardins will miss Tuesday's game with the flu.

Desjardins is currently on the injured reserved list with the illness that has kept him out 10 days. He has 36 penalty minutes in 10 games this season.

The San Jose Sharks have placed Andrew Desjardins on injured reserve.

The center has not played since coach Todd Richards said he had "the sniffles" on Friday, but Sharks beat writer Kevin Kurz noticed Tuesday that Desjardins had suddenly been listed as being on injured reserve. Obviously, it's a bit of a jump to go from the sniffles to injured reserve, but we have yet to see an explanation for the move. We'll update you as soon as we know more.

Andrew Desjardins (illness) will not play on Monday.

It's the second straight game Desjardins will miss due to the disease. He has 36 penalty minutes in 10 games this season.

Andrew Desjardins did not practice Friday due to an illness.

Desjardins has what coach Todd Richards called "the sniffles," which leads us to believe he'll be fine in time to play Saturday night. However, teammate Dan Boyle missed two of the last five games with an illness so it's possible there's a bug running through the locker room. To be safe, we'll sideline him and list him as day-to-day and update you when we know more, likely after tomorrow's morning skate.

Andrew Desjardins' match penalty for his open-ice hit on Chicago Blackhawks forward Jamal Mayers has been rescinded.

The incident occurred on Tuesday. "The way the linesman saw it on the ice, he was convinced it was a major penalty," NHL supervisor of officials Mick McGeough said. "Unfortunately, he was wrong. It’s been overruled, taken care of the by the league and Brendan Shanahan and the safety committee, and there are no more issues right now." Chicago ended up winning the game 5-3.

Andrew Desjardins was given a match penalty for an open-ice hit on Chicago Blackhawks forward Jamal Mayers on Tuesday evening.

Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith jumped in after and dropped the gloves with Desjardins. It is likely that Brendan Shanahan will review the hit tomorrow. From the initial replay, it looks as though the hit was a clean, shoulder-to-shoulder blow. Stay tuned tomorrow for any disciplinary action.

The San Jose Sharks need to improve on the penalty kill as they were the second worst team in the NHL last season.

The Sharks were 29th overall with the man disadvantage at barely over 76 percent and were actually worse in the playoffs, killing off only 66.7 percent. They have a new approach this season, led by coach Larry Robinson. "I thought Larry and Jim Johnson did a good job preparing our group for the penalty kill," coach Todd McLellan said. "Then we went out and spent an hour on it—not an aggressive hour, a slowed-down hour so that we understand certain situations, certain areas of the game we have to improve on. I think the players were receptive to that." We shall see if there is an improvement to the San Jose penalty kill.
