Andrew Desjardins has inked a two-year, $1.6 million contract with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Desjardins had 10 points and 57 penalty minutes in 69 games with San Jose and Chicago in 2014-15. That's pretty good value for Desjardins and a sign that he was willing to take less money in order to stick with the Blackhawks despite their cap situation. Jul 3 - 12:37 PM

The Chicago Blackhawks are interested in re-signing Andrew Desjardins.

The Blackhawks acquired Desjardins from the Sharks in March in exchange for Ben Smith and a conditional seventh round selection. He's eligible to become an unrestricted free agent and Chicago has some cap issues this summer, so re-signing him might be a bit tricky. That being said, the bottom-six forward likely won't be too expensive.

Andrew Desjardins is celebrating his first Stanley Cup championship.

Chicago picked up Desjardins from San Jose in March in exchange for Ben Smith and a conditional seventh round pick. Desjardins went on to score a goal and four points in 21 playoff contests. He also averaged 13:55 minutes per game. "The amount of work that’s put in to getting to this is just hard to imagine," said Desjardins. "When you've never done it, you don't even understand how much work it is to get here. It feels amazing right now." He's eligible to become an unrestricted free agent this summer and he might end up walking given Chicago's difficult cap situation.

Andrew Desjardins contributed a pair of assists in Chicago's 5-2 win over Anaheim in Game 6 of the Western Conference Final.

He had the primary helper on both goals by Andrew Shaw in the third period. Desjardins made a great play on his first assist when he tossed the puck into the center of the ice for a hard-charging Shaw. He has one goal and three points in 14 playoff games with the Blackhawks.
May 28 - 11:43 AM

Andrew Desjardins had four shots and a goal in Game 3 versus Nashville.

After being a healthy scratch for Chicago's first two games of the series, Desjardins got to play on Sunday and he made an impact during his 11:47 of ice time. He had no goals and two assists in 13 games during the regular season for the Blackhawks. Joakim Nordstrom and Teuvo Teravainen were replaced by Desjardins and Antoine Vermette in Game 3.

Andrew Desjardins, Michael Paliotta, and Antti Raanta are each expected to sit out Friday's Game Two against the Nashville Predators.

Coach Quenneville has already noted that there won't be any lineup changes from Game One, which includes benching trade deadline acquisition Antoine Vermette. But should Desjardins find his way into the lineup, he could provide quality tough guy stats even as a spot-start.
Apr 17 - 8:06 PM

Andrew Desjardins will be listed as a healthy scratch for Game 1 against the Predators Wednesday night.

Desjardins was unable to generate any offense since being acquired by the Blackhawks at this year’s trade deadline as he tallied just two assists in 13 games. He will join fellow trade-deadline acquisition, Antoine Vermettte, in the press box for game 1 Wednesday. With Patrick Kane now healthy, Desjardins will have to become more accustomed to the bench.
Apr 15 - 6:36 PM

Andrew Desjardins and Michael Paliotta will be scratched against the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night.

While Paliotta waits to make his NHL debut, Desjardin has been an excellent source of bruising points for fantasy owners over his 11 games with the Blackhawks. He's posted two assists, seven penalty minutes, and 31 hits since coming over at the trade deadline.
Apr 7 - 8:04 PM

Andrew Desjardins will draw back into the Blackhawks lineup Wednesday night versus the Flyers.

The Blackhawks will change up their lineup Wednesday night insert Desjardins and Dan Carcillo in place of Bryan Bickell and Teuvo Teravainen. It's a strange move but no one can really question a two-time Stanley Cup winner. Desjardins hadn't dressed since March 18th versus the Rangers and will look to get back into the Hawks lineup on a more regular basis starting Wednesday night. He has just one assist in four games since being traded by San Jose to Chicago.
Mar 25 - 7:58 PM

Forwards Andrew Desjardins and Dan Carcillo will both be healthy scratches Monday against the Hurricanes.

Desjardins has not seen regular ice time since being acquired from the San Jose Sharks as he’s only played in four games with the Hawks, picking up just one assist. Carcillo remains a healthy scratch and hasn’t played since March 8th versus the Rangers. He has four goals and four assists in 38 games this year with 49 penalty minutes.
Mar 23 - 5:11 PM

Don't be surprised if Andrew Desjardins plays against his former team, the Sharks, on Saturday afternoon.

Desjardins, who was traded to the Blackhawks last month, has been a healthy scratch as of late. He may have an opening to play against San Jose due to the suspension to Joakim Nordstrom. That doesn't mean you should pick him up as Desjardins has no fantasy value.

Mar 14 - 11:05 AM

Andrew Desjardins will be scratched against the New York Rangers on Sunday night.

Desjardins has played just one game with the Blackhawks since being acquired during the March 2nd trade deadline, but he had seven hits. Bringing his season total to 103 to go along with 50 PIMs and eight points through 57 total games this season.
Mar 8 - 6:20 PM

Andrew Desjardins is slated to make his Chicago debut Friday against Edmonton.

He is expected to play on the third line with Bryan Bickell and Brad Richards. Desjardins has eight points and 50 penalty minutes in 56 games this season.
Mar 6 - 10:40 AM

The Chicago Blackhawks have acquired Andrew Desjardins from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Ben Smith.

Desjardins has five goals and eight points in 56 games in 2014-15. He's scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this summer while Smith still has another season left on his contract with an annual cap hit of $1.5 million. Given that the Blackhawks are in a difficult cap position as far as the 2015-16 campaign is concern, this move makes a lot of sense on their end. The Sharks will also retain half of Desjardins' remaining salary, which gives Chicago enough room to keep Teuvo Teravainen on its active roster.
Mar 2 - 1:03 PM

After sitting out Thursday's game, Andrew Desjardins will center San Jose's fourth line on Saturday night against the Ottawa Senators.

Tye McGinn and Barclay Goodrow will flank Desjardins, who has eight points, 50 PIMs, and 94 hits through 55 games this season.
