Andrew Desjardins, Michael Paliotta, and Antti Raanta are each expected to sit out Friday's Game Two against the Nashville Predators.
Coach Quenneville has already noted that there won't be any lineup changes from Game One, which includes benching trade deadline acquisition Antoine Vermette. But should Desjardins find his way into the lineup, he could provide quality tough guy stats even as a spot-start. Apr 17 - 8:06 PM

Date:

Andrew Desjardins will be listed as a healthy scratch for Game 1 against the Predators Wednesday night.

Desjardins was unable to generate any offense since being acquired by the Blackhawks at this year’s trade deadline as he tallied just two assists in 13 games. He will join fellow trade-deadline acquisition, Antoine Vermettte, in the press box for game 1 Wednesday. With Patrick Kane now healthy, Desjardins will have to become more accustomed to the bench.

Andrew Desjardins and Michael Paliotta will be scratched against the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night.

While Paliotta waits to make his NHL debut, Desjardin has been an excellent source of bruising points for fantasy owners over his 11 games with the Blackhawks. He's posted two assists, seven penalty minutes, and 31 hits since coming over at the trade deadline.
Apr 7 - 8:04 PM

Andrew Desjardins will draw back into the Blackhawks lineup Wednesday night versus the Flyers.

The Blackhawks will change up their lineup Wednesday night insert Desjardins and Dan Carcillo in place of Bryan Bickell and Teuvo Teravainen. It's a strange move but no one can really question a two-time Stanley Cup winner. Desjardins hadn't dressed since March 18th versus the Rangers and will look to get back into the Hawks lineup on a more regular basis starting Wednesday night. He has just one assist in four games since being traded by San Jose to Chicago.
Mar 25 - 7:58 PM

Forwards Andrew Desjardins and Dan Carcillo will both be healthy scratches Monday against the Hurricanes.

Desjardins has not seen regular ice time since being acquired from the San Jose Sharks as he’s only played in four games with the Hawks, picking up just one assist. Carcillo remains a healthy scratch and hasn’t played since March 8th versus the Rangers. He has four goals and four assists in 38 games this year with 49 penalty minutes.
Mar 23 - 5:11 PM

Don't be surprised if Andrew Desjardins plays against his former team, the Sharks, on Saturday afternoon.

Desjardins, who was traded to the Blackhawks last month, has been a healthy scratch as of late. He may have an opening to play against San Jose due to the suspension to Joakim Nordstrom. That doesn't mean you should pick him up as Desjardins has no fantasy value.

Mar 14 - 11:05 AM

Andrew Desjardins will be scratched against the New York Rangers on Sunday night.

Desjardins has played just one game with the Blackhawks since being acquired during the March 2nd trade deadline, but he had seven hits. Bringing his season total to 103 to go along with 50 PIMs and eight points through 57 total games this season.
Mar 8 - 6:20 PM

Andrew Desjardins is slated to make his Chicago debut Friday against Edmonton.

He is expected to play on the third line with Bryan Bickell and Brad Richards. Desjardins has eight points and 50 penalty minutes in 56 games this season.
Mar 6 - 10:40 AM

The Chicago Blackhawks have acquired Andrew Desjardins from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Ben Smith.

Desjardins has five goals and eight points in 56 games in 2014-15. He's scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this summer while Smith still has another season left on his contract with an annual cap hit of $1.5 million. Given that the Blackhawks are in a difficult cap position as far as the 2015-16 campaign is concern, this move makes a lot of sense on their end. The Sharks will also retain half of Desjardins' remaining salary, which gives Chicago enough room to keep Teuvo Teravainen on its active roster.
Mar 2 - 1:03 PM

After sitting out Thursday's game, Andrew Desjardins will center San Jose's fourth line on Saturday night against the Ottawa Senators.

Tye McGinn and Barclay Goodrow will flank Desjardins, who has eight points, 50 PIMs, and 94 hits through 55 games this season.

Feb 28 - 7:45 PM

Andrew Desjardins was made a late scratch against the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday night.

Through 55 games this season, Desjardins has five goals, 50 PIMs, and 94 hits. Not too shabby for a bottom-six forward.

Feb 26 - 11:22 PM

Andrew Desjardins potted two markers for his second career multi-goal game en route to helping the Sharks slap the Stars 5-2 on Thursday night.

Desjardins now has five goals and eight points this season to go along with 50 penalty minutes.
Feb 19 - 11:50 PM

Andrew Desjardins, John Scott, and Mirco Mueller will be out versus the Predators on Tuesday.

While Mueller's value lies in what's to come for the 19 year old defender, both Desjardins' and Scott's fantasy value lies in what they do physically. Desjardins leads the team with 50 PIMs and has 88 hits through 53 games this season. While Scott has 46 PIMs and 58 hits through just 24 games.
Feb 17 - 8:04 PM

Andrew Desjardins, Tyler Kennedy, and Dylan DeMelo will be scratched on Friday night against Arizona.

While Kennedy and DeMelo are lacking in the fantasy value departments, Desjardins co-leads the team in PIMs with Brent Burns with 50, and third on the team in hits with 84 through 51 games thus far. If you're in a league that rewards tough guys, consider picking up him for depth production.

Feb 13 - 8:09 PM

Andrew Desjardins, Scott Hannan, and John Scott are all healthy scratches against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday night.

Desjardins became a father on Tuesday, and Scott doesn't have a pugilist on Toronto to fight. And Hannan is being sat in favor of Matt Tennyson. However if you're in a league that rewards PIMs and hits, do dress Desjardins (41, 74) and Scott (40, 36) when they're reinserted to the Sharks lineup.
