Gelinas has spent the Avalanche's last four games in the press box. He has an assist in seven contests this season.
Dec 1 - 12:41 PM

Eric Gelinas will be a healthy scratch in Tuesday's game against the Nashville Predators.

Gelinas has played in just one of Colorado's last seven games. The second-round pick is still young enough that he can develop into a solid NHLer, but he's running out of time. The 25-year-old has one assist in seven games this season.
Nov 29 - 9:03 PM

Eric Gelinas will be a healthy scratch against the Canucks on Saturday night.

Tonight will mark Colorado's 20th game of the season, and the 13th time Gelinas has been scratched. He's posted just a point in his seven games of action with only 12:30 of average ice time as well.
Nov 26 - 8:35 PM

Eric Gelinas will be a healthy scratch against the Kings on Tuesday night.

Gelinas played 11:41 and 13:38 in Colorado's last two games. He has one assist, a minus-1 rating and six penalty minutes in six games this season. Matt Duchene will miss the game with a concussion.
Nov 15 - 9:02 PM

Eric Gelinas will tag in for Patrick Wiercioch against the Jets on Friday night.

This will be Gelinas' fifth game of the season, and just his first since Nov. 1st. Unfortunately he does not provide any fantasy value.
Nov 11 - 9:00 PM

Eric Gelinas will serve as a healthy scratch in Tuesday night's game against Arizona.

This will be Gelinas' fourth consecutive game as a healthy scratch. He has one assist and a minus-1 rating in four games this season. Leave him on the waiver wire. Blake Comeau is missing the game because of a groin injury.
Nov 8 - 9:04 PM

Eric Gelinas will be scratched from Sunday's match with the Blues.

With just four games through November to his credit, it does not appear that Gelinas has much of a role with the team at this time.

Nov 6 - 3:52 PM

Eric Gelinas will tag in for Fedor Tyutin (groin) for Saturday's match with Florida.

This will be Gelinas' first game of the season after sitting out the first four as a healthy scratch. He's played just 162 NHL games spread over the last six seasons, scoring a tantalizing 54 points. So feel free to watch how he performs tonight.
Oct 22 - 3:51 PM

Eric Gelinas will watch from the press box for the fourth time this season on Thursday against Tampa Bay.

That's no games played through four games of Colorado's season, which is a concerning sign. Gelinas has played just 162 NHL games spread over the last six seasons, scoring a tantalizing 54 points. But he'll have to start playing regularly again to be fantasy viable.

Oct 20 - 6:41 PM

Eric Gelinas will be a healthy scratch in Monday's game against Pittsburgh.

Gelinas didn't dress in the Avalanche's first game either. He had one goal, six points and a minus-6 rating in four games with the Devils and Avs last season. He's not on the fantasy radar right now. Cody McLeod will also watch the game from the press box.
Oct 17 - 7:08 PM

Eric Gelinas appears to be Colorado's seventh defender.

That will probably make him a scratched for Saturday's opener. The Avalanche have paired Nikita Zadorov with Erik Johnson, Francois Beauchemin with Tyson Barrie and Fedor Tyutin with Patrick Wiercioch.

Oct 12 - 12:43 PM

Eric Gelinas is in a battle for a roster spot on the Avalanche blueline.

Although we have been Gelinas supporters, the talented rearguard is going to have to step up if he is to break camp as a top-six defenceman with the Avs. Erik Johnson, Francois Beauchemin, Tyson Barrie, Nikita Zadorov and Fedor Tyutin seem to be locks for a roster spot leaving Gelinas to duke it out with Chris Bigras and Patrick Wiercioch for one or possibly two spots. This should be interesting to watch.

Sep 25 - 10:51 AM

Eric Gelinas (elbow) will be out for a while according to head coach Patrick Roy.

Gelinas was injured in Friday's loss to the Calgary Flames and he isn't expected back any time soon. Look for Zach Redmond or Andrew Bodnarchuk to get an increase in minutes while Gelinas is on the shelf.

Mar 20 - 11:39 AM

The Avalanche lost Eric Gelinas indefinitely to an elbow injury during Friday's 4-3 loss to Calgary.

It was a trying season for the young defenseman who posted just six points in 40 games with New Jersey and Colorado. He'll ding the cap at $1.575M for one more season before becoming an RFA.
