Korbinian Holzer is ready to get back in the lineup from a concussion.
Anaheim coach Bruce Boudreau wanted to get him into a game before the start of the playoffs but found himself unable to do so. "I feel really bad about this," Boudreau said. "It’s my fault. … He’s been a complete great soldier. He works his [butt] off every day. We just never got any injury since the trade deadline, as far as defense. He’s probably not happy because he hasn't played," the coach said. "But at the same time, he’s been really professional about everything." Holzer was acquired from Toronto at the deadline and last played on March 1 when he was still a Maple Leaf. Apr 12 - 6:04 AM

Korbinian Holzer (concussion) might make his Ducks debut before the regular season concludes.

Anaheim only has four games left in its schedule. Holzer was acquired by Anaheim on March 2 from Toronto in exchange for Eric Brewer and a fifth-rounder. He has six assists in 34 games in 2014-15.

Korbinian Holzer (concussion) has a shot at playing Monday night.

However, his Anaheim debut will only come against Vancouver if James Wisniewski doesn't get his equipment before the match starts. Holzer hasn't played since Mar. 1 because of a concussion.
Mar 9 - 5:42 PM

Korbinian Holzer, who has a concussion, has been acquired by the Anaheim Ducks from the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Holzer was hurt in his first shift on Sunday. It's impossible for us to say how long he might miss due to the concussion, but he will help bolster the Ducks' defensive depth once he's healthy. He doesn't do enough offensively to warrant picking him up in standard leagues though. The Leafs received Eric Brewer and a fifth-rounder from the Ducks in the move.
Mar 2 - 3:55 PM

Korbinian Holzer suffered a concussion when he was hit by Alex Ovechkin during his first shift of Sunday's game.

He can become an unrestricted free agent this summer and was projected to be traded, but his injury will probably remove him from consideration.

Korbinian Holzer left Sunday's game against Washington with an upper-body injury.

Holzer was injured on his first shift in the game. It's unclear how long he will be out of the lineup but the Leafs have confirmed that he won't return to this game.
Mar 1 - 7:40 PM

Korbinian Holzer blocked six shots in Saturday's 2-1 shootout loss to Montreal.

The Leafs played a solid game defensively but they were unable to muster enough offense to win. The 26-year-old isn't known for his offensive game so he will have to keep doing the little things well in order to stay in the lineup.

Korbinian Holzer skated with Cody Franson on Tuesday at practice.

He is projected to play on Toronto's top defense pair because Dion Phaneuf is out due to injury. Holzer shoots right but he'll be forced to occupy the left side.

Korbinian Holzer will tag in for Stephane Robidas Thursday night in San Jose.

Holzer, who hasn't played since Jan. 3rd, is expected to skate to the right of Jake Gardiner on the Leafs' third defensive unit. Through 16 games the young rookie defender has four points, 21 PIMs, 30 blocks, and 64 hits.
Jan 15 - 10:16 PM

Korbinian Holzer will be held out of the lineup again Wednesday night in Anaheim.

The German defenseman will miss his fourth consecutive game Wednesday as he will watch from the press box again. In 16 games played this season, Holzer has four assists, 21 penalty minutes, and is a plus four. He has no fantasy value right now.
Jan 14 - 7:32 PM

Korbinian Holzer and Sam Carrick will both be healthy scratches on Monday night.

The Leafs are in Los Angeles and neither of these two players will suit up. Holzer has been a healthy scratch in three straight games. Carrick has no points in six games for Toronto this season. Neither player shows up on the fantasy radar.
Jan 12 - 10:43 PM

Korbinian Holzer and Sam Carrick will be sitting in the stands Friday night against Columubs.

While Carrick has been exciting for the AHL Toronto Marlies this season, posting 16 points through 31 games, it's not quite his time just yet. Keep an eye on him, though. Holzer for his part has 21 PIMs, 30 blocks, and 64 hits through just 16 games with the Leafs so far.
Jan 9 - 7:11 PM

Korbinian Holzer was made a late healthy scratch against the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night.

Holzer had played in the previous four games, averaging just under 20 minutes a night and without recording any points.
Jan 7 - 7:14 PM

Korbinian Holzer will be on the blue line for the Leafs Monday night against the Lightning.

Holzer has been in the press box for the Leafs last two games but will get back in the lineup Monday night. Stephane Robidas will be a healthy scratch to make room for Holzer. The Leafs have now held Robidas out of the second game of the last two back-to-backs, so this may be a more common trend going forward leading to more ice time for Holzer.

With Stephane Robidas returning to the lineup on Tuesday, Korbinian Holzer will take a seat as a healthy scratch.

Holzer has been playing well of late, collecting four helpers in his last five games. Look for him to be a steady replacement should another Leaf get injured, sick, or draw the ire of Coach Carlyle.
