Alex Biega will continue to sit for the Vancouver Canucks, when they play host to the Arizona Coyotes.

Missing tonight's game will mark this as Biega's fifth straight scratch. Anton Rodin will miss the game as well, replaced by Alex Burrows. The other healthy scratch is newly acquired Reid Boucher. Claimed off waivers from the New Jersey Devils after claiming him from the Nashville Predators the day before, who originally claimed him from the Devils in early December to begin this whirlwind.

Alex Biega will be a healthy scratch in Monday's game against the Colorado Avalanche.

He's only skated in 10 games in 2016-17, and he's accumulated two assists and eight penalty minutes this season. This will be Biega's fourth consecutive game as a healthy scratch. Teammate Alex Burrows will miss the game because of an eye injury.

Alex Biega has been assigned to AHL Utica on a conditioning stint.

The 28-year-old has played in a grand total of one game so far this season, so some game-induced conditioning is likely in order. In 59 career NHL games however, he has just eight points. So we'd leave him on the wire when he comes back.

Alex Biega will play Saturday against Washington.

Biega has just eight points with 159 hits in 59 career games, so we wouldn't expect much from him tonight.

The Vancouver Canucks have signed Alex Biega to a two-year, one-way deal worth $1.5 million dollars in total.

The move hasn't been made official, but the Vancouver Province's Ben Kuzma is reporting that the two sides are just waiting for the league's approval. Biega will make $700,000 next year and $800,000 in 2017-18. The 27-year-old has four assists in 25 games with the Canucks this season. He was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

Alex Biega will play in his 12th NHL game this season on Saturday.

The career minor leaguer played 347 AHL games and at the age of 27 is trying to become a regular in the NHL. "He competes hard, he is aggressive all the time," coach Willie Desjardins said. "I like that in him. He is excited to be up here, so he brings some energy. I think he has been a good fit." Biega has two assists and is a plus-five this season so his fantasy value is negligible, but he has been a solid member of the blueline corps and certainly his presence is good if you have either Canuck goaltender.
