The Edmonton Oilers are considering trading Taylor Hall, per TSN's Darren Dreger.
Hall is by far the Oilers' best player, but reportedly the knock on him is that he hasn't been willing to adapt. If the rumor is true then the Oilers will have no shortage of suitors for Hall's services. He comes with a very reasonable $6 million annual cap hit through the 2019-20 campaign. Dec 15 - 5:26 PM

The Edmonton Oilers were shutout 2-0 by the New York Rangers on Sunday night.

The Oilers have now lost four games in a row, and 15 of their last 16 contests. Edmonton managed to get only 16 shots on Rangers' goaltender Henrik Lundqvist. Taylor Hall led all Oilers' shooters with three shots on goal. It's clear that things will get a whole lot worse before they get better in Edmonton. It appears inevitable that changes will be made within the organization.

Craig MacTavish held a near-half hour long press conference Friday afternoon.

MacTavish had a few choice words, "I’m going to get to the bottom of it." "It" being the operative word for what has and is plauging the organization. He went on to remind us that, "Trades into today’s NHL are very difficult to consummate." Which is true enough but the larger point is that he doesn't want to fill one hole while creating another. All in all, the press conference was passionate, but not all that informative. Much like the empty calories the Oilers seem to already produce on a nightly basis.

Taylor Hall picked up a pair of assists in Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to St. Louis.

Hall registered primary assists on goals by Nikita Nikitin and Mark Arcobello. The 23-year-old has five points in seven games since returning from a knee injury that forced him to miss six games. Hall has eight goals and 15 points in 18 games this season. David Perron also scored for the Oilers.
Nov 29 - 12:07 AM

Taylor Hall buried his eighth goal of the season as part of Tuesday's 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Dallas Stars.

The talented winger has been one of the few bright spots for a putrid Edmonton team this year since he has put of 13 points in 16 contests in total. Defensive forward Boyd Gordon also scored for Edmonton in the losing effort.
Nov 25 - 11:51 PM

Taylor Hall admitted that he's probably never been this frustrated before since joining the Oilers.

"We're frustrated, the fans are frustrated, I think everyone is," Hall said. "It's on us, that's about all you can say. It sucks. It sucks for us, it sucks for the fans, for the organization, but we're going to have to make it through. We try and regroup as best we can. It's our fault as players and we're going to have to make up for that." Hall's speaking like a good soldier there, but is it really his fault? Aside from suffering some injuries along the way, he's pretty much been everything the Oilers could have hoped for and they have been completely unable to build a team around him. The Oilers are labeled as a rebuilding team, but for Hall that process is already in its fifth season. Hall also firmly stated that he doesn't want to see coach Dallas Eakins fired.
Nov 24 - 8:41 AM

The Edmonton Oilers have moved Taylor Hall to their second line.

Hall will play alongside Leon Draisaitl and Teddy Purcell. The Oilers are trying to shake things up after dropping two straight games. Hall should be able to produce on the second line, which he probably won't be on for very long anyways, so we're not worried about this demotion.
Nov 21 - 10:49 AM

Taylor Hall scored Edmonton's only goal in their 2-1 loss to Arizona.

Hall's third period goal cut the Coyotes lead to 2-1, but the Oilers were unable to complete the comeback. Hall played 20:58 in his first game back since suffering a knee injury on November 1st against Vancouver. The 23-year-old has seven goals and 11 points in 12 games. When healthy, Hall is the best point-producer on the Oilers' roster.
Nov 17 - 12:04 AM

Edmonton Oilers star winger Taylor Hall returns to the mix on Sunday in a game against the Arizona Coyotes.

Obviously adjust your lineups accordingly. One interesting note: Hall isn't certain that he'll replace Benoit Pouliot back on the top line with Jordan Eberle and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, as Pouliot's fit in well there. Either way, Hall should make an impact against Arizona.

Taylor Hall (knee) could return to the Oilers’ lineup on Sunday against the Coyotes.

Hall has been out since Nov. 1 with an MCL sprain. "I think if morning skate goes as well as I think it will then I’ll be playing," Hall said. "There’s not too much pain anymore," he said. "The pain dissolved after a couple of days. It’s more of just strength and being able to rely on it. Like I said, today was another good day and I want to keep going." Hall has six goals and 10 points in 11 games.
Nov 15 - 9:16 PM

Taylor Hall (knee) took part in Thursday's morning skate.

"When I am ready to play, and I'm confident in my knee, I'll play," said Hall. "It sucks being hurt for sure, but I think I've done everything I can to make sure I'm healing fast. I think we're on schedule. Hopefully I'm playing soon." He was wearing braces on each knee during the session. Hall has been out of action since Nov. 1.
Nov 13 - 5:41 PM

Taylor Hall (knee) might start skating as early as Monday.

Hall is dealing with an MCL sprain and initially faced a two-to-four week recovery time. HNIC’s Elliotte Friedman says that there is no timetable for his return until Hall sees how his knee reacts. Hall last played Nov. 1, and he still leads the Oilers with six goals and 10 points.
Nov 8 - 9:09 PM

Taylor Hall (knee) has been placed on injured reserve.

He's projected to be sidelined for two-to-four weeks with an MCL sprain. Hall injured his knee in Saturday's loss to Vancouver.
Nov 3 - 1:27 PM

If Taylor Hall misses the full four weeks with his MCL injury, he will sit out 13 games.

That's a lot of action if you have him in your fantasy pool but he could miss as little as six if he sits out only two weeks. He has 10 points in 11 games this season so his absence from the Oilers lineup will hurt.
Nov 3 - 6:32 AM

The Edmonton Oilers announced that Taylor Hall will miss two-to-four weeks with an MCL sprain suffered during Saturday's loss against the Vancouver Canucks.

Hall's aggressive style opens up risks for injuries, as he's never played more than 75 games in a season. He usually delivers robust numbers when he can play, often making him worth the headache. That seems true so far this season: 10 points and 36 SOG in 11 games played. Hall owners (and the Oilers) must hope he returns closer to 14 days than one month, then.
