Taylor Hall underwent successful surgery to repair torn ligaments in his left hand back on April 30th.
Hall initially sustained the injury in late December and it was unrelated from the issue that kept him out of the All-Star Game in January. He is expected to be ready for training camp in September. May 8 - 10:31 AM

Taylor Hall has been chosen as one of the three nominees for the Hart Trophy.

Hall was clearly the most valuable player on the Devils roster, as he accumulated 39 goals and 93 points in 76 games during the regular season. The 26-year-old was a force throughout the season and there's a decent chance that he'll come away with the MVP award in 2018. Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon and Los Angeles' Anze Kopitar are the other two nominees.

Taylor Hall has been chosen as one of the nominees for the Ted Lindsay Award.

This is hardly surprising considering the season he had for the Devils. The 26-year-old accumulated 39 goals and 93 points in 76 games this season. Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon and Edmonton's Connor McDavid have also been nominated for the award.

Taylor Hall won't play for Canada at the upcoming IIHF World Championship.

Hall has declined the invitation following New Jersey's first-round playoff loss to Tampa Bay. He notched two goals and six points in five playoff outings after he amassed a career-high 93 points during the regular season.
Apr 24 - 11:57 AM

Taylor Hall recorded an assist in a 3-1 loss to Tampa Bay in Game 4 on Wednesday.

Hall couldn't win this one for New Jersey, but he now has two goals and six points in four playoff games. This is the 26-year-old's first playoff series after enduring plenty of hardship with the Edmonton Oilers and then the Devils' 2016-17 rebuilding campaign.
Apr 19 - 4:55 AM

Taylor Hall has excelled in his first playoff series.

It took Hall a while to finally get to the postseason, but he's making the most of it now. He has two goals and five points in three games so far. The Devils are still down in their series to Tampa Bay 2-1, but New Jersey might not even have earned a single win if not for Hall's efforts. He'll try to help the Devils even the series in Game 4 on Wednesday.

Apr 18 - 5:01 AM

Taylor Hall scored a goal and two assists in Monday's 5-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Hall was flat-out dominant in this game. The Hart Trophy candidate tied the game at one at the 12:24 mark of the second period, before registered the primary assists on goals by Will Butcher (2-1) and Stefan Noesen (3-1). The 26-year-old finished the night with a plus-3 rating, two penalty minutes and six shots on goal on in 22:45 of ice time. Hall now has two goals and three assists in three games this postseason. He'll have to keep rolling if his team is going to have a chance to win this series. The Devils now find themselves down 2-1 in this best-of-seven series. Game 4 will be played in New Jersey on Wednesday night.
Apr 16 - 11:02 PM

Taylor Hall scored a goal and picked up an assist in a 5-2 Game 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Devils fell behind 3-0 and that's when Hall went to work, getting his team to within one goal midway through the third period. Unfortunately, Alex Killorn's goal a couple of minutes later put the game to bed for Tampa. Tonight was Hall's first post-season appearance in his eighth season in the NHL and he didn't disappoint with a great performance. It'll be interesting to see how far the 26-year-old forward can push the Lightning. His assist came on a goal scored by Travis Zajac.
Apr 12 - 10:35 PM

It looks as if Taylor Hall, Kyle Palmieri and Travis Zajac will be rested Saturday night and will not dress against the Capitals.

The Devils have already qualified for the playoffs and their seeding is settled so there is merit in giving Hall, Palmieri and Zajac a bit of rest. Adjust your lineup accordingly.
Apr 7 - 11:38 AM

If Taylor Hall fails to register a point in the Devils' season finale against the Capitals Saturday night, he will still set a New Jersey franchise record.

Hall will finish with the highest point-per-game totals of any Devils' player in franchise history. With 93 points in 76 games players Hall will come in at 1.22 points -per-game. That's pretty impressive considering Zach Parise, Ilya Kovalchuk, Patrik Elias, Alexander Mogilny, Kirk Muller and many other talented players have donned the Devils' uniform over the years.
Apr 7 - 10:40 AM

The New Jersey Devils have officially secured a playoff berth.

This will be the Devils' first trip to the playoffs since 2012. It will also be Hall's first time in the postseason since his career started. Hall's played in 528 career regular season games and had to endure an era of the Oilers being stuck in limbo and a rebuilding campaign with the Devils in 2016-17. Hall has been a big part of the Devils' success this season with 39 goals and 93 points in 76 games.
Apr 6 - 5:37 AM

Taylor Hall scored two goals and two assists in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the New York Rangers.

Hall extended his point streak to nine games in the process. Three of his four points in tonight's contest came on the man-advantage. Hall's first tally gave the Devils a 2-0 lead less than four minutes into the game, while his second made it 5-1 for his team late in the second frame. Hall also assisted on both of Will Butcher's goals. He finished the game with a plus-1 rating, five shots on goal and one giveaway in 17:16 of ice time. The 26-year-old is up to 39 goals and 93 points in 75 games this season. He has 17 points during his nine-game point streak.
Apr 3 - 9:45 PM

Taylor Hall is on the verge of being a part of his first playoff berth.

It could happen on Tuesday as the Devils can secure their postseason spot if New Jersey beats the Rangers while Florida loses in regulation to Nashville. Even if the Devils don't officially make the playoffs Tuesday night though, they're in a very strong position. New Jersey holds the second Wild Card spot with 93 points in 79 games while the Panthers are their only remaining threat with 88 points in 78 games. Taylor Hall, 26, hasn't played in the playoffs yet. He's done everything he can to get the Devils there this season with his 37 goals and 89 points in 74 contests.
Apr 3 - 9:07 AM

Taylor Hall lifted the Devils over Montreal with a shorthanded goal late in the third period on Sunday night.

Hall's game winner extends his current point streak to nine games and now has 37 goals and 89 points in 74 games. Perhaps more impressive is he's doing it mostly on his own; the Devils' second leading scorer is Nico Hischier who is 39 points behind Hall.
Apr 1 - 10:21 PM

Since January 1st, Taylor Hall has been just ridiculous.

Hall has registered at least one point in 34 of the Devils' 37 games since New Years and has 15 multi-point games during that span and 52 points overall. No wonder he is getting some Hart Trophy buzz. Adam Larsson is a decent defensemen, but I'm betting the Oilers would be more than happy to undo the trade that sent Hall to the Devils.
