Taylor Hall will play his first game as a New Jersey Devil Monday.
The Devils will open their pre-season with a split-squad and Hall will be going to Montreal to take on the Canadiens. Hall was not happy with the Oilers decision to trade him and it could be good news for fantasy owners who select Hall that he has a chip on his shoulder this season. Hall will provide the Devils with some much needed scoring and should get 65-70 points this season if he remains healthy. Sep 26 - 8:04 AM

Taylor Hall still holds "a bit of resentment" towards the Edmonton Oilers.

Hall's focus is on his new team, but as he previously stated, he took Edmonton's decision to trade him as "an indictment on me as a hockey player." In case you're wondering, the Devils will play against Edmonton on Jan. 7 and Jan. 12.

Don't expect Taylor Hall to sign with the Oilers if he becomes an unrestricted free agent in four years.

Hall admitted as much during a radio interview on TSN 1260. "No, I don’t think I would," Hall said. "Right now, my focus is Jersey and playing my four years there. But I don’t think I would come back. I think that I gave it a good run and I don’t have any regrets about what happened. I certainly think that I’m focused on what I can do in Jersey. It’s so far away, but I don’t think - maybe something comes up and I’ll change my mind, but ... I did my time there, and it’s time to move on." Hall, of course, was traded from Edmonton to New Jersey earlier this off-season.

After failing to make the playoffs during his time in Edmonton, Taylor Hall just wants to "win more" as a member of the New Jersey Devils.

The 24-year-old was very productive with the Oilers, as he scored 328 points in 381 games. Unfortunately for him, he still hasn't suited up for a playoff game, but he believes that can change this year. "It's not an easy division by any means, but just looking at our team on paper, if we can stay healthy and rely on Cory (Schneider) a little bit less, it's going to put us in a good spot," Hall said. "I haven't played a game yet, so I don't have quite as good of a feel as I will 20 games into the season, but I'm excited for what I see right now." The Devils aren't a slam dunk to make the playoffs, but the acquisition of Hall certainly makes them better.
Aug 15 - 8:25 AM

Taylor Hall put on his New Jersey colors for the first time Sunday, sporting No. 9 on his jersey.

He is excited to play for the Devils and reiterated that he is highly motivated going into 2016-17. "I'm a motivated player and I have a lot to prove," Hall said. "The people who I want to prove something to are my new teammates."
Aug 14 - 4:16 PM

Taylor Hall said he felt "slighted" by the trade that sent him from Edmonton to New jersey.

"I expressed my disappointment in what had happened," Hall said when asked about his conversation with Oilers GM Peter Chiarelli. "I don't want to sound like I'm not excited to join New Jersey because that's not the case. I'm a proud person and I do take this as an indictment of me as a hockey player. I don't think there's any other way to treat. It's safe to say that I'm a very motivated hockey player now." Hall was a teammate of Adam Henrique in junior hockey, so the duo will probably be reunited in New Jersey.
Jun 29 - 6:43 PM

Taylor Hall has been traded to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for defenseman Adam Larsson.

Hall recorded 26 goals and 65 points in 82 games last season with Edmonton. The first overall pick in 2010 has 328 points in 381 career contests and now he has off to the Devils to inject some much-needed offense into that group.
Jun 29 - 3:37 PM

Taylor Hall didn't get a spot on Canada for the World Cup of Hockey.

Canada named Brad Marchand, Matt Duchene, Joe Thornton and Claude Giroux to the forward group on Friday instead. "Tough decisions," said Team Canada GM Doug Armstrong. "It was nothing Taylor didn't do but we could only name so many guys. Taylor was a strong player at the Worlds as well as Marchand and Duchene." Hall just won a gold medal with Canada at the World Championship and he posted nine points, including six goals, in 10 games.
May 28 - 2:55 PM

Taylor Hall has scored six goals on 16 shots in five games at the World Championship.

He entered this week's action tied for second in the tournament in goal scoring. Hall was great at the 2015 World Championship as well, where he had seven goals in 10 games to help Canada capture the gold medal.
May 16 - 10:53 AM

Taylor Hall will join Team Canada for the third time during this summer's IIHF World Hockey Championship in Moscow, Russia.

Hall has seen a lot of success during his international career, including in 2014-15 WHC where he scored seven goals and 12 points in 10 games. However first he'll get one last opportunity to match and surpass his career high of 27 goals on Saturday.
Apr 8 - 11:54 PM

Taylor Hall scored a goal and added two assists as Edmonton bid farewell to Rexall Place in style Wednesday night, thumping the Vancouver Canucks 6-2.

The Oilers played at Rexall Place, originally known as Northlands Coliseum, since 1974, when they were in the World Hockey Association. Next season, they are moving into a new downtown arena, Rogers Place. On Wednesday, Hall and rookie sensation Connor McDavid each had a goal and three points. Hall's goal was his 26th of the season. He brought his assist total to 38. McDavid's goal was his 16 and he has 32 assists. Patrick Maroon also contributed significantly to the Oilers' victory, scoring his 10th and 11th goals of the season. Nail Yakupov opened the scoring with just his eighth goal of the season. And Leon Draisaitl scored the final goal at Rexall Place, a power-play market at 18:03 of the third period. It was his 19th goal of the season. Edmonton has missed the playoffs for 10 consecutive seasons, so a new venue may be what the doctor ordered.
Apr 6 - 10:54 PM

Taylor Hall assisted on Nail Yakupov's goal in the Oilers 2-1 loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Monday.

Hall now has 36 assists to go along with his 25 goals this season in 79 games played. He has three points in his past five games.
Mar 29 - 12:08 AM

Taylor Hall collected another couple of goals during Thursday's 6-3 win over the Sharks.

Hall is now up to 25 goals this season, just a pair shy of his career high - a mark he's reached twice already. His shooting percentage has dipped well under league average the last couple of months, but setting that new career high is as good as done at this rate.
Mar 25 - 1:45 AM

Taylor Hall had an assist in a 3-1 win versus the New York Islanders on Sunday.

Hall has 20 goals and 54 points in 64 contests this season. This represents the second highest point total of his career, which primarily speaks to how consistently he's been hurt over his six seasons in the NHL.
Feb 29 - 8:54 AM

Taylor Hall lit the lamp in the Oilers’ 3-2 loss to the Avalanche on Saturday night.

While Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl have stolen the headlines, don’t forget about Hall, who is putting together a fine season in his own right. He has 20 goals and 52 points. Benoit Pouliot got the other marker.
