Marcus Kruger scored one goal and had an assist during Tuesday night’s 4-3 OT loss to the Avalanche.

Kruger assisted on a goal by Ryan Hartman and then scored the team's third to build a 3-0 lead. However, the Avalanche rallied for a 4-3 overtime victory. This was his only his second multi-point game of the season. His first came December 17 against the Blues.

Marcus Kruger won't play in Tuesday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Kruger was activated off injured reserve earlier today, but the Blackhawks still aren't comfortable inserting him into the lineup just yet. He hasn't played since Dec. 30. Jordin Tootoo and Michal Rozsival will serve as healthy scratches in tonight's game.

It looks like he will be back in the lineup on Tuesday night. His odds of playing will increase if Dennis Rasmussen is not able to suit up due to an illness.

He also did some solo faceoff work at the end of the session. Kruger has been out of action since December 30th with a hand injury. At least he appears to be making some progress now. That said, there is still no timetable for his return to action.

Marcus Kruger left Friday's match with Carolina just before the end of the second period due to an undisclosed injury.

More to come. Kruger has 10 points in 38 games this season, and does not amount to much in fantasy pools. He's considered day-to-day for now.

Marcus Kruger moved up to the second line Tuesday between Marian Hossa and Ryan Hartman.

"I like playing in the offensive zone more, but I don't worry too much about it," said Kruger, who normally is deployed in defensive situations. "I try to play the same game no matter what line I'm on. We want to play better than this past weekend." He has accounted for two goals and seven points in 28 games this year.
