Marcus Kruger has given Chicago's penalty kill a boost.

Following his return on Mar. 26, Chicago killed off 19 straight power plays from the opposition going into Saturday's regular-season finale. That streak ended on the Blue Jackets' second power play of the contest when they scored during a 4-on-3 advantage in overtime. Still, the Blackhawks feel good about their penalty kill going into the playoffs and they will need it to be strong in the playoffs against a St. Louis Blues team that ranked sixth on the power play during the year.

"I’ve been practicing for a long time and you’re always wondering how it’s going to be in a real game," Kruger said. "It was good to get that going today and obviously it was nice to get a win."

Kruger will be able to select seven teams he cannot be traded to with the clause. Which, we imagine, will include most teams that are far away from Stanley Cup contention.
