Brian Dumoulin (upper body) felt good after he skated on Monday morning.

Dumoulin said that he is taking the appropriate steps after he skated in a non-contact jersey and went through concussion protocol. "You don't want to rush concussions," the Pittsburgh defender added. Coach Mike Sullivan stated that all injured players will be game-time decisions for Game 3 against Washington on Tuesday night.

Brian Dumoulin (upper body) is on the ice for Monday's practice.

Dumoulin was seen wearing a non-contact jersey during the session, but he skated alongside regular defense partner Kris Letang. Coach Mike Sullivan may provide a better picture of Dumoulin's status once he speaks to the media. Consider Dumoulin day-to-day for now.

Brian Dumoulin exited Sunday's game in the second period of Game 2 against Washington after he appeared to suffer an upper-body injury.

Dumoulin was injured after he took a shoulder to the head from Capitals forward Tom Wilson. "It looked like a high hit, but [the officials] didn't see it that way," coach Mike Sullivan said. An update on his status has not been provided yet. Wilson may hear from the league for the hit.

Many people are impressed with the play of Brian Dumoulin in the playoffs.

That's what some points will do for you. Dumoulin has always been a solid defender but he had only 18 points in 80 games this season, not anything that would get you recognized. But the playoffs have been a different story as he had a goal and six points in the opening round. "He was playing so well in the playoffs last year, I called him and joked, ‘How do you feel about never being on the power play?’" his junior coach Sean Tremblay said. "He said, ‘We have other guys who do that. I’m here to defend and move pucks. It’s like you used to tell me — defend and distribute, and you’ll be worth your weight in gold.’ He just a guy who knows who he is." GM Jim Rutherford made sure that Dumoulin was part of the Jordan Staal deal to Carolina in 2012 instead of a second round pick and he has never regretted the move.
Apr 29 - 8:11 AM

Brian Dumoulin scored his first of the playoffs Sunday.

Dumoulin scored the fourth Penguins goal and it tied an NHL record as the Penguins scored twice in five seconds. After a five goal, 18 point performance in 80 regular season games, Dumoulin has three points in three playoff games thus far. He averages a goal every 35 games during the regular season but improves that to one in 16 during the playoffs.
Apr 16 - 8:10 AM

Brian Dumoulin had two assists in Pittsburgh's 7-0 win against the Flyers in Game 1 on Wednesday.

Dumoulin isn't one of the Penguins' main offensive contributors as he finished the 2017-18 campaign with five goals and 18 points in 80 contests. Don't expect him to have more multi-point games in the 2018 playoffs, but he should still chip in occasionally. In 2017, he finished with a goal and six points in 25 playoff contests.
Apr 12 - 9:03 AM

Brian Dumoulin will be back in the lineup on Sunday night.

Dumoulin missed just two games after he was diagnosed with a concussion. He will be paired with Kris Letang against Boston.
Jan 7 - 7:16 PM

Brian Dumoulin (concussion) will be a game-time decision Sunday night.

Dumoulin seems probable to play after he said he felt good following the morning skate. He was paired with Kris Letang in the session. Dumoulin was hit in the head by the puck and he was removed from the game as a precaution. He has sat out the last two contests.

Brian Dumoulin suffered a concussion during Tuesday's game.

Dumoulin was struck by a high hit from Philadelphia's Claude Giroux on Tuesday. The Penguins are terming Dumoulin as day-to-day, but concussions tend to be hard to gauge so we'll have to wait and see how his recovery goes. Dumoulin isn't a factor in standard fantasy leagues, but his absence will be felt by the Penguins, who had been giving him an average of 20:35 minutes per game.
Jan 4 - 11:42 AM

Brian Dumoulin sustained what might be a head injury during Tuesday's game.

Dumoulin absorbed a high hit from Philadelphia's Claude Giroux in the second period. He played two more shifts before exiting the game and he didn't return. Consider him day-to-day until more information is available.
Jan 3 - 8:09 AM

Brian Dumoulin opened the scoring in Friday's 2-1 loss at Carolina, his second tally of the season.

It's a long night for the Pens when the light-scoring rearguard accounts for the only marker of the evening. He was feeling frisky at the offensive end, posting three shots on goal while also delivering four hits and three blocked shots. He has posted 50 hits with 69 blocked shots through 39 contests to help fantasy owners in deeper formats.

Keep an eye on whether Brian Duoulin will suit up Saturday night against Nashville.

He left the ice a little woozy Friday night against the Capitals but returned to the game. Not sure if the Penguins' defenseman is injured but it would be prudent to monitor the situation if you rely on Dumoulin.
