Brett Connolly will be a healthy scratch in Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Kings.

Nov 30 - 6:48 PM

Brett Connolly (upper body) was on the fourth line at Sunday's morning skate.

Connolly is expected to be back in the lineup against Edmonton after he missed the last seven games. Alex Chiasson worked with the second power-play unit, so it doesn't look like Connolly will have that going for him against the Edmonton Oilers.
Nov 12 - 12:37 PM

Brett Connolly is expected to return to the lineup tomorrow when the Washington Capitals play the Edmonton Oilers.

Connolly has been sidelined for seven games due to a concussion. He has two points in 10 games this season. Even if he doesn't return tomorrow, the former sixth overall pick has no business being on any fantasy rosters.
Nov 11 - 2:47 PM

Brett Connolly (upper body) is uncertain for Thursday's game versus the New York Islanders.

"He's still sort of day-to-day, and we'll see where he is," said coach Barry Trotz after Tuesday's practice. "He didn't skate today, so we'll see where he is tomorrow. I don't know if he'll be able to skate or not. I'll wait for my trainers to give me all of the info." He was put in concussion protocol after he was injured on Oct. 26.
Oct 31 - 5:42 PM

Brett Connolly, who left Thursday's game with an upper-body injury, will miss at least Washington's next two games.

It is believed that Connolly sustained a concussion. Reserve him immediately as he won't play in any of the Caps' games this weekend. Anthony Peluso was recalled from the AHL to take Connolly's spot on the roster.
Oct 28 - 12:42 PM

Brett Connolly left Thursday night's game against the Vancouver Canucks with an upper-body injury and will not return.

Connolly suffered the injury in the second period of their game against the Canucks in Vancouver. He had only played a little over five minutes to that point in the contest. The forward has two points in 10 games this year and isn't expected to have much fantasy value this year.
Oct 26 - 11:51 PM

Brett Connolly registered an assist in Washington's 3-2 loss to Pittsburgh Wednesday night.

Connolly has a goal and two points in four games this season. That's a solid start, but he's not expected to have much fantasy value in standard leagues in 2017-18.
Oct 12 - 11:12 AM

Brett Connolly found the back of the net in Washington's 5-4 shootout victory over Ottawa.

Connolly set a career-high last season with 15 goals in 66 games. Despite scoring in the opener, he might finish below that goal mark in 2017-18. Keep in mind he only logged 11:11 minutes in Thursday's contest.
Oct 6 - 10:52 AM

Brett Connolly will battle for a top-six forward spot at training camp.

There appears to be a position open alongside Alex Ovechkin and Evgeny Kuznetsov. "I think everything will take care of itself and they are going to try guys in different spots," said Connolly. "But you know, if I slip into that second power-play unit where [Justin] Williams was last year, I think I can do well there and I'm not really too worried about who I'm going to play with this year." He was comfortable playing on the third line with Lars Eller last season and wouldn't mind playing there again.
Sep 20 - 4:03 PM

Brett Connolly has agreed to a two-year contract with the Washington Capitals.

Connolly's new contract has an annual average value of $1.5 million. He didn't receive a qualifying offer from the Capitals, but he was still expected to stay with the team.
Jun 26 - 9:31 PM

Brett Connolly did not receive a qualifying offer from the Capitals.

However, Connolly is still talking contract with Washington and it's expected that he will re-sign. If a new deal isn't worked out before July 1 then he can test free agency. Connolly generated 23 points in 66 games last season.
Jun 26 - 6:45 PM

Brett Connolly is expected to get a qualifying offer from the Capitals.

Capitals GM Brian MacLellan envisions Connolly playing on the third line next season. Getting Connolly and the team's other restricted free agents is a top priority this off-season for MacLellan.
May 30 - 2:56 PM

Brett Connolly is a healthy scratch for Game 7 on Wednesday.

Connolly was used regularly in the first round, but he's only appeared in one game during the Capitals' series with Pittsburgh. He has no points and a minus-two rating in seven postseason games in 2017.

Brett Connolly is expected to be a healthy scratch in Game 5 against the Penguins on Saturday night.

It sounds like the Caps won't make any lineup changes, which means they'll roll with 11 forwards and seven defensemen. Connolly has no points and a minus-2 rating in seven games this postseason. Paul Carey and Taylor Chorney are also expected to watch from the press box.
