Brett Connolly scored the lone goal for the Lightning in their 3-1 loss to the Islanders on Saturday night.
It looked like it’d be the only goal of the game as neither team could score until the third period. Connolly has six goals in 23 games this season. Tyler Johnson and Mark Barberio picked up the helpers. Valtteri Filppula finished a game-low minus-two. Dec 20 - 9:53 PM

Connolly doubled his goal total for the season tonight. The 22-year-old missed 12 games with a lower-body injury. He now has four goals in 13 games this season. The former sixth overall pick in 2010 has shown flashes of potential, but he has yet to put it all together. It's still too early to call him a bust.

The Tampa Bay Lightning label Brett Connolly as week-to-week.

Connolly suffered a lower-body injury during Friday's win against the Winnipeg Jets. The 22-year-old has two goals in eight games as he tries to justify his first-round status (sixth overall in 2010). There's still plenty of time for him to convert solid AHL success to NHL production, but it hasn't happened yet.
Oct 25 - 3:49 PM

Brett Connolly did not come out for the second period of Friday's 4-2 win over the Jets.

He sustained a lower-body injury in the first period. Too bad, as Connolly was playing the best hockey of his career for the Lightning as of late. He is listed as doubtful for Saturday's contest against the Wild. If you have Connolly on your fantasy squad, place him on reserve immediately.

Connolly had a goal and helper while Richard Panik, Nikita Kucherov, J.T. Brown and Cedric Paquette had goals in the blowout win. It was the second time in four days that Tampa beat Dallas in preseason action.
Oct 1 - 12:31 AM

It looks like Brett Connolly will be able to start the season with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

He has to clear waivers to be sent down to the minors and he has looked good at training camp so far. "He looks bigger, leaner and faster ... and I think he has been buzzing around the ice," coach Jon Cooper said. "I'm looking forward to seeing him play because it looks like he has worked really hard to show that he wants to not only make this team but play." Connolly has played just 16 games with the Lightning over the past two seasons. He was among the big club's final cuts a year ago and will be hoping to avoid that disappointment for a second straight time.

He skated with Valtteri Filppula and Alex Killorn. Connolly spent most of the 2013-14 season in the minors, but he has a shot to make Tampa Bay's roster out of training camp.
