In case you have been living under a rock and hadn't noticed, Mikael Granlund is now an NHL star.

After many fits and starts the 24-year-old is finally realizing his vast potential. After his four-point game Saturday, Granlund now has 48 points in 51 games and is 12th in NHL scoring. "He’s a pretty special player," Wild coach Bruce Boudreau said of Granlund. "Boy. he can make plays, he skates, he defends. I can’t say enough about him." For those of you who have been patient with Granlund, reap the rewards.
Feb 5 - 12:24 PM

Mikael Granlund is playing out of his mind for the Minnesota Wild, something he highlighted with his first career hat trick in a 6-3 win against the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday.

Granlund, 24, seems to finally be delivering on the promise he's shown infrequently over the years, another example of Bruce Boudreau getting the best out of a player. He now has 17 points during a blistering 12-game point streak since he also nabbed an assist on Saturday.

Mikael Granlund extended his point streak to 11 games on Wednesday night.

He picked up the lone assist on Jason Zucker's goal in a 5-1 loss to Calgary. Granlund's current scoring spree set a Wild record and it tied Chicago's Artem Anisimov for longest point streak in the NHL this season.

He has generated two goals and 10 assists during that stretch. Granlund has broken out offensively this season with 43 points in 49 games.
Feb 1 - 3:28 PM

Don't look now but it's Mikael Granlund who leads the Wild, who sit atop the Western conference standings, in scoring through the All-Star break.

It's been a career season for the soon-to-be 25-year-old, who has 12 goals and a team-leading 30 assists and 42 points in 48 games. Only 17 times has he been held off the score sheet (same as Connor McDavid, by the way). He rolls into the break on a nine-game point streak with two goals and 11 points over that span. He also has just four multi-game point droughts, with one last four games and the other two at just two games apiece. Suffice it to say, he's for real this season.

Jan 22 - 10:51 PM

Mikael Granlund has benefited from his switch to the wing this season.

"You don't really tire yourself defending as much playing wing," Granlund said. "I've learned it's a big responsibility in this league to be a centerman, and you win games if you defend hard. I think once in a while it took a little bit away from my offense." He is getting the puck more and his offensive creativity has been on display. Granlund is already close to surpassing the 44 points he scored in 82 matches last year, with 10 goals and 26 assists in 43 games.
Jan 19 - 9:38 AM

Mikael Granlund has five multi-point efforts in his last six games.

The line of Granlund, Jason Zucker and Mikko Koivu was terrific in Thursday's win over the San Jose Sharks, and Granlund had a lot to do with it. "He’s pretty special with the puck," head coach Bruce Boudreau said of Granlund. "He always seems to be able to make that play. The only time I get mad at him is when he’s too cute and tries to make that play and it doesn’t work. But it works more often than it doesn’t." The 24-year-old has always shown flashes of skill, but it looks like he's starting to put it all together. He's accumulated 10 goals and 31 points in 37 games this season.
Jan 7 - 10:27 AM

He has 31 points in 37 games and appears to be on track to exceed his career high of 44 points he recorded last season. Jason Zucker also added two points while the trio of Mikko Koivu, Zach Parise and Eric Staal combined for eight in the big offensive night.
