Nov 17 - 11:28 PM

Mikael Granlund has not recorded an even-strength point in his last eight games.

He has one assist during that time and it came on a power-play goal against Winnipeg on Oct. 25. Granlund started the year with four points in his first three games, but he has gone quiet since then.
Nov 4 - 12:01 PM

Mikael Granlund finally got on the board on Thursday night with a goal in Minnesota's 4-3 win over Arizona.

It was a pretty one too, as he took Zach Parise's glorious cross-ice pass and one-timed it through Mike Smith. He now has four points through three games this season.

The Wild are hoping Mikael Grunlund’s game reaches another tier this season.

The 23-year-old, the ninth pick in the 2010 draft, recorded eight goals and 39 points in 68 games last season. Zach Parise believes the top power-play unit will help him be more aggressive with the puck. "But I think a big thing for him will be that No. 1 power-play unit," Parise said. "He’s going to get more touches, he’s going to get more assists, and it’s amazing what that does to the rest of your game. He’s going to get the puck more, and just for his psyche, that’ll be really important." Granlund is centering the top line between Jason Pominville and Parise.
Oct 3 - 8:47 PM

Mikael Granlund will be part of Minnesota's top power-play unit in Monday's exhibition game against Buffalo.

He's slated to join a four-forward combination with Zach Parise, Mikko Koivu and Jason Pominville. Ryan Suter is going to be the lone defender on the combination. Granlund hasn't lived up to expectations yet, but he received a four-year contract from the Wild in the summer. Look for him to take steps forward this year and reward Minnesota for their confidence.
Sep 21 - 3:42 PM

The Wild has re-signed restricted free agent Mikael Granlund for two more years.

Granlund will make $2.8 million next season and $3.2 million the following year. He registered just eight goals and 39 points in 68 games last campaign.
Jul 1 - 12:07 PM

Minnesota Wild GM Cliff Fletcher hopes to have RFA forward Mikael Granlund under a new contract "by tomorrow."

Granlund did well under his ELC, especially the last two seasons where he posted a combined 16 goals and 80 points over 131 games. Granlund's roll and importance to the team continues to grow, and after having posted 64 assists the last two seasons, expect his fantasy prowess to expand as well.
Jun 26 - 11:30 PM

Mikael Granlund's agent, Todd Diamond, is trying to negotiate a short-term deal with the Minnesota Wild.

"We've been talking on and off since training camp basically," Diamond said. "I wouldn't say we're way off. It's like a marathon. The last half mile is the most difficult. I would surmise that's where we are." The two sides have spoken a couple times in the past few weeks. Granlund doesn't have any arbitration rights and he's set to become a restricted free agent in July.
Jun 22 - 2:52 PM

Mikael Granlund is set to become a restricted free agent this summer.

Granlund had eight goals and 39 points in 68 contests. He was completing his entry-level deal, so naturally he'll be getting a substantial raise by comparison. He had previously been seeking a one or two-year bridge deal, so it wouldn't be surprising if that's what he ends up getting this summer.
May 12 - 10:36 AM

Mikael Granlund fired five shots on goal Tuesday night, but was unable to beat Chicago's Corey Crawford in a 1-0 loss to the Blackhawks.

Granlund scored a goal in the series-opening defeat, but has not recorded a point in either of the last two games. The Wild now find themselves backed into a corner trailing 3-0 and only a miracle can prevent them from becoming Round 2 casualties.
May 5 - 10:57 PM

Mikael Granlund completed the Minnesota Wild's comeback from a first period 3-0 deficit on Friday night.

The Wild stormed back in the second period to erase the deficit, which Granlund was all too happy to finish with a semi-wrap around goal through Corey Crawford just 9:30 in. However, the Blackhawks would take Game One 4-3 with a goal not ten minutes later. Granlund for his part ranks second on the team in points with six (two goals), and now has points in four of his past five games.
May 2 - 1:09 AM

Mikael Granlund recorded two assists in Monday's Game Three 3-0 victory over St. Louis.

Don't look now, but Granlund now has two assists and three points through three games this post season. He also recorded a takeaway, two blocks, and four hits during his 17:26 of ice time.
Apr 20 - 11:38 PM

Mikael Granlund put the Game One dagger into St. Louis when he made it 3-2 with 73 seconds left in the game. Minnesota would go on to win 4-2.

In 16:34, including over three minutes on special teams, Granlund won 62% of his draws with two hits and shots to go along with his goal. Granlund now has five goals and eight points in 14 career playoff games.
Apr 17 - 1:51 AM

Playoff poolies shouldn't shy away from Mikael Granlund if you like Minnesota to upset the St. Louis Blues.

He is slated to play between Zach Parise and Jason Pominville when the series begins Thursday. Granlund picked up one goal and five assists in his last eight games of the year. He also had seven points in 13 games last year in the postseason.
