Nino Niederreiter was back at practice with the Wild on Monday.

He was reunited with Erik Haula and Jason Pominville, where he enjoyed plenty of success last season. It was his first session with Minnesota since returning from the World Cup of Hockey.

Niederreiter had great chemistry with Erik Haula and Jason Pominville last season, so that could be where he ultimately plays again in 2016-17, but coach Bruce Boudreau wants to do some experimenting at training camp. Jason Zucker is also slated to get a look with Koivu and Granlund.

His two-point effort helped the Swiss rally from a 2-0 deficit. Nikolaj Ehlers scored for the Danes in the contest.

Nino Niederreiter feels like the Wild are on the right path heading into Game 6 against Dallas.

The Wild trailed 2-0 and 3-1 in the series, but they're now one win away from forcing a Game 7. "We’re still trailing," Niederreiter said. "But, at the same time, I feel we’re on a good path right now. We know what we need to do [Sunday]. The biggest thing is focusing on the next step." Game 6 goes Sunday at 3:00 p.m. ET in Minnesota.

The Minnesota Wild had a roller coaster-like season, but they did just enough to squeeze into the playoffs.

"Just a roller coaster," Niederreiter said of his team's 2015-16 season. "A lot of loopings and tight turns, stressful drops and fast climbs. It had everything. But at the end of the day, it’s tough to get into the playoffs. Obviously, we got into it in an ugly way by losing some games down the stretch and Colorado helped us out, but we’re in." The Wild will open the playoffs in Dallas on Thursday night.

Niederreiter opened the scoring at the 1:33 mark of the first period. The 23-year-old finished the game with plus-1 rating and three shots on goal in 14:46 of action. Niederreiter has scored in back-to-back games for the first time since mid-October. He has 16 goals and 36 points in 70 games.

El Nino tied the game at one at the 10:37 mark of the first period and then picked up the only assist on Jason Pominville's go-ahead goal 1:01 later. The 23-year-old also added an empty net goal in the final minute of play. Niederreiter has 14 goals and 33 points in 64 games this season. He's on pace to set a new career-high in points with 42.
