Rookie Emerson Etem leads the Ducks in plus/minus in the post-season with a plus-five.
Etem has been a pleasant surprise for the Ducks in the playoffs as he has also chipped in with a couple of goals and a pair of assists in the first six games against the Red Wings. "He's been one of our best players if not our best player," Coach Bruce Boudreau said. "It's a great sign for the future of the Ducks, but it's also a great sign for now, because we need him." Etem is averaging only 12:21 minutes per game in the playoffs but expect a lot more next season as he should grab a regular top-six role on the Ducks. May 12 - 6:28 AM

Emerson Etem had a goal and an assist in Anaheim's 4-3 overtime defeat on Friday.

Kyle Palmieri and Bobby Ryan each scored a goal for the Ducks. Corey Perry and Francois Beauchemin each registered an assist in the losing effort. Luca Sbisa had a team-high five hits in 21:49 minutes of ice time. Nick Bonino won 10 of his 17 faceoffs on Friday.
May 10 - 11:20 PM

Emerson Etem's goal on Saturday was his first since March 31.

Etem was set up by the ageless Teemu Selanne who scored his first NHL goal when Etem was only four months old. Etem was drafted as an offensive player but he has learned all aspects of the game since becoming a pro, and that will only help his game in the future. "My role definitely has changed," Etem said. "In juniors, like most people, you're the go-to guy. But here, you see the depth on this team. I've accepted my role as being an energy guy. It's the playoffs. I'm just happy to get the win, (do) anything I can do to help the team out, whether it's finish a check or have a good backcheck. If I score, I score. I'm just here to create energy and help the team win." Grab Etem in all keeper leagues next season as the speedy skater could break out as an offensive star at any time.
May 6 - 6:36 AM

Emerson Etem will play on the second line in Anaheim's game against Dallas on Wednesday.

Etem will skate alongside Andrew Cogliano and Teemu Selanne. This situation is worth keeping an eye on as Etem has a ton of offensive upside, but has only been averaging 10:51 minutes per game this season.
Apr 3 - 3:30 PM

Emerson Etem was the only Anaheim player capable of beating Sergei Bobrovsky in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Blue Jackets.

Etem's goal was just the third of his young career and given his limited ice time he's not worth a roster spot in anything but a keeper league. Andrew Cogliano and Bryan Allen drew assists on the goal.
Mar 31 - 8:58 PM

Emerson Etem scored his first NHL goal Monday and added an assist to lead the Anaheim Ducks to a 5-3 win over San Jose.

Etem has seven points in 19 games and knows where the net is as evidenced by his 61 goals last season in Medicine Hat in the WHL. Francois Beauchemin scored twice while Ryan Getzlaf, with a shorthanded effort, and Peter Holland also found the back of the net. Etem is worth owning in keeper pools as he will become a scorer as a top-six forward.
Mar 19 - 4:44 AM

Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau is looking for Emerson Etem to produce more consistently.

Etem had a two assist game on Feb. 2, but has also been held off the scoresheet in seven of his nine NHL contests. "I'm like the state of Missouri, 'do it again,'" Boudreau said. "The biggest thing about these young kids is consistency – all of them have had flashes." It will probably be a few years before Etem has any fantasy value in standard leagues.
Mar 1 - 8:38 AM

The Anaheim Ducks have summoned Emerson Etem.

Etem has two assists in eight games this season with the Anaheim Ducks. He also has 13 goals and 16 points in 45 AHL contests in 2012-13.
Feb 27 - 8:07 AM

Emerson Etem was sent down the AHL on Wednesday by the Ducks.

Etem, 20, is still a pretty raw player and even though he was averaging just over nine minutes of ice time per game, it had been diminished to below seven minutes in two straight games. The AHL time will be beneficial for him as he gets to play in more high-leverage situations. Etem had two assists in eight games. The Ducks also recalled Peter Holland and Patrick Maroon.
Feb 13 - 9:40 PM

Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau felt Emerson Etem held his own in his first NHL game.

Etem had a shot on goal in 7:51 minutes of playing time on Tuesday. "He was fine," Boudreau said. "He didn't look like a deer in the headlights or anything. He looked like he took it in stride. It was a game. He did his job." Etem will get a chance to play in front of his family if he's in the lineup on Friday and Saturday.
Feb 1 - 8:57 AM

Emerson Etem made his NHL debut in Anaheim's 3-2 shootout loss to San Jose.

Etem had a shot on goal in 7:51 minutes of playing time. He's worth keeping an eye on, but it might be a few years before he has any fantasy value in standard leagues.
Jan 30 - 8:28 AM

Emerson Etem could be making his NHL debut on Tuesday.

The Ducks recalled the former first round pick on Sunday after he potted 12 goals but only two assists in the AHL this season. He was impressive in the abbreviated training camp and that was likely the reason for his recall. "We'll probably have a roller coaster of moving guys up and down. . . . You've got to keep them playing," Boudreau said. "These are opportunities. We want someone to take the ball and run with it. With the chance, Emerson is in that situation. You want pressure from underneath to push the guys above to get better."
Jan 29 - 6:40 AM

The Anaheim Ducks have called up winger Emersom Etem from Norfolk of the AHL.

The selection of Etem is an interesting one, as the young forward has not exactly dominated the American League this year, scoring 12 goals and adding two assists in 40 games. He's not expected to pay significant minutes at this time.
Jan 27 - 6:48 PM

Emerson Etem is determined to bounce back after failing to make the Ducks' 2013 opening game roster.

Etem was sent down to AHL Norfolk. "Obviously, I wanted it," Etem said. "It's something I'm not going to lie with that. It kind of hurts being sent back down. If they need me to improve on some stuff, then I'm going to go down and do it. Whatever it takes to get the call-up pretty soon." Etem was taken with the 29th overall pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and this is his first full AHL campaign.
Jan 17 - 8:55 AM

Emerson Etem did his best to take getting sent back to the AHL in stride on Wednesday.

Etem admits that it hurts being demoted after a training camp tryout. The 2010 first-rounder must be feeling a little impatient about making the Anaheim Ducks roster. It seems like a matter of time - and some believe that time is drawing near.
