Emerson Etem has been sent to the minors.
Etem has two goals and four points in 21 games in 2014-15. He's got a fair amount of offensive upside, but we might not see much evidence of that at the NHL-level in 2014-15. Nov 25 - 9:53 AM

Nov 23 - 8:00 PM

Emerson Etem registered two assists in Anaheim’s 6-2 loss to Florida on Sunday.

Etem didn’t register a point in the first 13 games of the regular season, but he has two goals and two assists in his last six games. The Ducks have now lost five of their seven games in November. The only positive the Ducks can pull from this game is that Corey Perry (illness) and Kyle Palmieri (ankle) returned from the injured list.
Nov 16 - 10:38 PM

Emerson Etem is seeing time on the Ducks first line.

Etem has taken over from the ailing Corey Perry and is playing alongside Patrick Maroon and Ryan Getzlaf. Etem scored his second of the season against the Kings on Saturday and it looks as if he will have another three games as Perry is not expected to return for another week as he lost a lot of strength recovering from the mumps. Ride him for the week if you can.
Nov 16 - 4:04 AM

Emerson Etem scored a goal in Anaheim's 3-2 overtime loss on Wednesday.

It was Etem's first goal and point in 14 games this season. He's been averaging just 10:29 minutes per contest.
Nov 6 - 8:23 AM

Emerson Etem is still without a point this season.

A first round pick in the 2010 Draft, Etem is looking for a new contract as his entry level deal expires at the end of this season. But the talented scorer finds himself as a fourth line player at this time. "For myself, I’m just trying to finish my checks and do all the little things defensively," Etem said. "I think when you’re playing a fourth-line role, there’s only so much offense as far as time to get on the ice and stuff that you can control. First and foremost, it’s being strong on the walls. Getting the puck out and banging. Using your body and trying to create space that way. We've got to earn our ice time and we’re going to do that first."
Nov 2 - 3:27 AM

Emerson Etem is the only Anaheim forward, who plays regularly, to not record a point yet this season.

He has been credited with 10 shots and he has a minus-2 rating in seven games. The 22-year-old winger has averaged 11:10 of ice time per match. "I definitely thought I'd be in more of a position, you know, be on the top couple lines or whatever," Etem said Wednesday. "But it's a deep roster here. We have three or four All-Stars. Whatever my position is, that's where I am now and that's what I have to focus on." He's still trying to find his place on a deep team and is currently playing on the fourth line.
Oct 23 - 6:08 PM

Emerson Etem is out to prove that he belongs in the NHL, scoring his first of the preseason will go a long way towards that end.

He was the beneficiary of a quality cycle turned wrap-around by his teammates as Hampus Lindholm fed him for a tap-in, putting the Ducks up 1-0 just 3:47 into the game. In 16:12 of ice time, he had the goal, four hits and four shots, a solid mix for a player with much to prove. Keep an eye on him.
Sep 26 - 2:51 AM

Emerson Etem is looking for this to be the year that he finally stays with the Anaheim Ducks.

Etem was selected with the 29th overall pick in the 2010 Draft and has spent the last two seasons split between the Ducks and their AHL affiliate. He gets a break this season in that Saku Koivu and Teemu Selanne have retired, opening up space as a top-six forward. "I want him to make us make the tough decisions, make it difficult on us," coach Bruce Boudreau said. "If he doesn't have a good camp, it's an easy decision. If he has a good camp, it's going to be a tough decision because we think he’s an NHL player. Let’s be honest, as a junior, he got by on his skill and speed and he didn't need to know much about both ends of the ice. But in the NHL, you have to be able to know both ends of the ice to be a successful player and have a successful team. I think he's still in the learning process, but he's diligent and willing to learn."
Sep 21 - 5:20 AM

The Ducks brought up Sami Vatanen on Thursday and sent down Etem ahead of tonight's Game 4 match-up against Los Angeles. Etem had no points and nine shots in four postseason contests.
May 8 - 3:43 PM

Emerson Etem will be in for Game 1 of the Ducks' second-round playoff series against the Los Angeles Kings.

"I can't really say how I'm going to use him [in the series]," Boudreau said. "He's going to play Game 1 and we'll see how he does." Etem played in Games 4 and 5 of the first round against the Dallas Stars and was on a line with left wing Devante Smith-Pelly and center Rickard Rakell, who was reassigned to the American Hockey League on Thursday. Etem came on strong in last season's conference quarterfinals with two goals and an assist in Games 6 and 7 against the Detroit Red Wings.
