Emerson Etem will be a healthy scratch in Thursday's game against the Detroit Red Wings.

Etem was recalled from the minors on Wednesday, but he won't suit up tonight. He was once a promising prospect, but he just hasn't developed enough to be an effective NHLer. Kevin Connauton is also scratched in this one.
Oct 12 - 10:17 PM

Emerson Etem has been summoned by the Arizona Coyotes.

Etem had a goal and an assist in his lone AHL game so far this season. Brendan Perlini (upper body) was placed on the IR list, which opened up a spot for Etem.
Oct 11 - 6:24 PM

The Arizona Coyotes have sent Emerson Etem to the AHL.

Etem cleared waivers yesterday, so this was just the logical next step. The 25-year-old suited up in just three games with the Anaheim Ducks last season because of a knee injury. He could get recalled at some point during the season, but don't expect him to carry any fantasy value. Goalie Hunter Miska has also been sent to the minors.
Sep 29 - 4:22 PM

Emerson Etem has successfully cleared waivers.

The Coyotes are reassigning Etem to the AHL at this time though. He missed most of the 2016-17 campaign due to a knee injury. Prior to that he had seven goals and 15 points in 58 games with the New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks in 2015-16.
Sep 28 - 3:24 PM

Emerson Etem has signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Arizona Coyotes.

Etem missed most of the 2016-17 campaign due to a knee injury that required surgery. He had no points in three games with the Anaheim Ducks and a goal in his lone AHL contest. In 2015-16, he had seven goals and 15 points in 58 contests with the New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks.
Jul 6 - 4:11 PM

Emerson Etem will undergo knee surgery.

Etem will be sidelined for months as a result. He was assigned to AHL San Diego on Oct. 27 and he's only ended up playing in one game in the minors.

Emerson Etem has been assigned to AHL San Diego.

Etem last played in the minors two seasons ago and he posted 21 points in 22 games for Norfolk, then Anaheim's AHL affiliate. He has just 46 points in 173 career NHL games, so it seems safe to say he's not quite ready for the highest level.

Emerson Etem has been placed on waivers by the Anaheim Ducks.

Anaheim claimed Etem off waivers from Vancouver on Oct. 13. However, the Ducks have only used him in two games this season.

Emerson Etem will be in the lineup for Tuesday's match versus New Jersey.

It will be his first game back with the Ducks after he was claimed off waivers from Vancouver. Etem generated just 31 points in 112 games with Anaheim and he is projected to play on the fourth line.

The Anaheim Ducks have claimed Emerson Etem off waivers.

Etem's career has been an interesting journey. He was taken with the 29th overall pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, which is a pick that originally belonged to the Philadelphia Flyers, but was used by Anaheim as part of the Chris Pronger trade. Etem never lived up to his potential in Anaheim though and in the summer of 2015 he was dealt to the Rangers in a trade that also involved Carl Hagelin. The Rangers only held onto him for half a season though before they sent him to Vancouver and now the Canucks have lost him on waivers to the team that originally drafted him. At this point we don't have high hopes for Etem, but he's still just 24 years old so he could still turn his career around.

With two preseason games left in Vancouver's schedule, Emerson Etem still has something to prove.

Etem agreed to a one-year, $775,000 deal with Vancouver in June, but there's a lot of competition in Vancouver for those final forward spots and Etem might end up getting squeezed out. Etem left something to be desired on Monday and while that's understandable given that Etem had only recently become a father, Canucks coach Willie Desjardins didn't feel like he could cut the forward any slack. "Probably not," Desjardins said. "I think it’s tough. There’s too many guys that are fighting for spots and everybody knows that. That’s just what we brought into camp. I feel for the guy, but we have to find the best guys. And I’m not saying he’s not, but we have to find the best guys."
