Nov 29 - 8:25 PM

Dylan McIlrath won't get the chance to face his former club, the New York Rangers.

McIlrath was sent to Florida back on Nov. 8th, but has played in just one game for the Panthers thus far. Unfortunately, he does not appear to have any fantasy value.
Nov 20 - 6:10 PM

Dylan McIlrath played 17:18 in his first game as a member of the Florida Panthers.

The Panthers lost Thursday's game, 6-1, to the Toronto Maple Leafs. McIlrath finished the game with a minus-2 rating, one shot on goal and four hits in the game. He doesn't have any fantasy value, but with Alex Petrovic (lower body) injured, McIlrath will likely get some more game action.
Nov 19 - 10:35 AM

Dylan McIlrath will make his Panthers debut Thursday night against the Maple Leafs.

Through the first 38 games of his career, McIlrath has four points with 84 PIMs and 99 hits. So if he starts to see regular time, and he might with Alex Petrovic's injury, pick him up if you're in a league that supports his talents.
Nov 17 - 7:20 PM

Dylan McIlrath is expected to be a healthy scratch in Tuesday's game in Montreal.

Since being acquired from the Rangers, McIlrath still hasn't played in a game for his new team. He won't have any fantasy value even when he does get in the lineup. Shawn Thornton is also expected to be scratched.

Nov 15 - 7:17 PM

Dylan McIlrath and Shawn Thornton will both be scratched against the Islanders on Saturday.

This shouldn't come as any surprise as Thornton has seen but a single game so far this season. McIlrath meanwhile surely needs to get in some more practices before coach Gerard Gallant can feel comfortable playing him.
Nov 12 - 4:27 PM

Dylan McIlrath, Shawn Thornton and Jared McCann will each be scratched against the Sharks on Thursday.

Of the three, only McCann has played much. Through 13 games he has a goal and nine hits, which sits him nicely along with McIlrath and Thornton on the pine.
Nov 10 - 7:21 PM

Dylan McIlrath is slated to take part in Thursday's morning skate.

However, it's unclear if he will make his Panthers debut versus San Jose after he was acquired earlier this week from the New York Rangers. When McIlrath does get into the lineup he could see some time with Keith Yandle, who is another ex-member of the Rangers and a former defense partner of his.
Nov 10 - 7:50 AM

Dylan McIlrath has been shipped to the Florida Panthers for Steven Kampfer and conditional 7th round pick.

He has skated in 38 NHL games with the New York Rangers over the last four seasons. The 10th overall pick in the 2010 NHL Draft was placed on waivers on Oct. 27 before heading to the minors.
Nov 8 - 4:16 PM

Dylan McIlrath has been assigned to the minors.

He passed through waivers on Friday and will report to Hartford of the AHL. McIlrath has skated in one game with the Rangers this year, but mostly sat as a healthy scratch. He has contributed four points and 84 penalty minutes in 38 career NHL matches.
Oct 28 - 12:42 PM

The New York Rangers' decision to waive Dylan McIlrath was motivated by a desire to get him to play, but it seems there were also cap considerations involved.

"Gorts and I and our staff had a long talk last night after the game, and we just felt that at this time, Dylan needed to play," coach Alain Vigneault explained, referring to a conversation he had with GM Jeff Gorton. "We all appreciate him as a person, he’s done everything that has been expected of him, and more. But on our team right now, he’s our eighth defenseman, and keeping him here and not having him play and the money going against the cap…" McIlrath comes with a $800K annual cap hit as long as he's with the Rangers. So far he's only played in one game this season. It's entirely feasible though that another team will decide to claim him and use him with some regularity.
Oct 27 - 4:20 PM

Dylan McIlrath has been placed on waivers by the New York Rangers.

McIlrath has only been used in one game so far this season. If he clears waivers then he'll probably be sent to the minors to get some work in.
Oct 27 - 1:03 PM

Dylan McIlrath will not play against the Coyotes on Sunday night.

This will be New York's sixth game of the season, and his fifth health scratch. Which indicates the young defender may not have much of a role with the team at this time.

Oct 23 - 1:50 PM

Dylan McIlrath will not play against the Capitals on Saturday night.

McIlrath has seen a grand total of 9:14 of ice time so far this season in just one game of play. Until he starts seeing regular playing time, it's tough to recommend him for even the deepest of pools.
