Beau Bennett practiced alongside Sidney Crosby and Pascal Dupuis on Monday.
That would be a big opportunity for Bennett if that line was used on Wednesday against Montreal. Bennett has two goals and three points in nine games, but he does have more offensive upside than those numbers imply. Nov 10 - 9:20 AM

Beau Bennett (undisclosed) will return to the Pittsburgh Penguins' lineup on Wednesday.

Bennett missed five straight games after sustaining the injury while celebrating a goal. Penguins coach Mike Johnston wouldn't say what line Bennett would start the game on, but it might be academic anyways because the bench boss is considering moving Bennett around as the game progresses.
Oct 28 - 12:30 PM

Beau Bennett (undisclosed) is probable for Wednesday's game against Washington.

Bennett hasn't played since Oct. 13 because he was hurt while celebrating a goal. That was also his first point of the season. "It's all up to the coaches," Bennett said. "I've gone through the protocol of pushing and shoving, battling out there. Shot feels good. Hands feel good. Just have to see what happens (Wednesday)."
Oct 28 - 10:42 AM

Beau Bennett admitted that he suffered an injury while celebrating a goal.

The Pittsburgh Penguins forward has been sadly injury prone, and this only adds insult to his many ailments. He was off to a solid start ot the season before hurting himself, too.
Oct 25 - 6:26 PM

Beau Bennett (undisclosed) won't play Tuesday night.

The Penguins have not updated his status, so it's unclear what he is suffering from and how long he will be sidelined for.
Oct 20 - 6:08 PM

Beau Bennett (undisclosed) is listed on injured reserve on the Pittsburgh Penguins' website.

"Beau's injured. ... He's going to be further evaluated," coach Mike Johnston said after Thursday's morning skate. "Like any other injury after a game, he was evaluated. ... We will start to get some news on how long that injury will be." He has one goal in three games this season and it's unclear when he will be able to return.
Oct 16 - 2:55 PM

Beau Bennett will miss Thursday's game with an undisclosed injury.

It's not clear how serious Bennett's injury is. The timing is unfortunate though as he's coming off of a strong showing on Tuesday. It's sad to say, but so far Bennett's career has been defined by untimely injuries. Hopefully this one proves to be relatively minor.
Oct 15 - 12:10 PM

Beau Bennett scored a goal in Pittsburgh's 3-2 loss to Montreal Tuesday night.

Bennett also registered four hits in 14:05 minutes of ice time. "For me, Beau Bennett was probably our best player (Tuesday)," Penguins coach Mike Johnston said. "He had hits. He had shots. He carried the puck with confidence. That's a real positive sign for Beau. … For me, that was great to see that Beau took his game to another level." We'll see if Bennett can build on that Thursday versus Ottawa.
Oct 14 - 10:38 AM

Beau Bennett's shootout goal in the third round gave the Pittsburgh Penguins a 1-0 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets in exhibition action Monday night.

The real story of the game were the goalies. Jeff Zatkoff made 23 saves as Pittsburgh's starting goalie. Blue Jackets goalie Joonas Korpisalo, a third-round pick (No. 62) at the 2012 NHL Draft, also was very impressive, making 39 saves in a complete game. Tristan Jarry came in for Zatkoff when the third period started and recorded seven saves to set up the shootout session. Pittsburgh was 0-for-5 on the power play; Columbus was 0-for-4.
Sep 21 - 10:16 PM

Beau Bennett has been working with a new trainer and nutritionist over the summer in the hopes of ending his injury woes.

Bennett is just 23 years old, but his career to date has been substantially hurt by injuries. "I've put in a lot of work this summer to prevent this stuff," Bennett said. "Just so I can get stronger on the ice and stronger in some tough situations." He recently signed a one-year, $800,000 contract.
Jul 16 - 10:40 AM

Beau Bennett has agreed to a one-year, $800,000 contract with the Penguins.

Bennett has the potential to develop into a top-six forward, but he hasn't progressed as projected. That can partially be blamed on injuries, although Penguins GM Jim Rutherford also regrets not sending him down to the minors to hone his skills further before he became waiver eligible. Bennett had four goals and 12 points in 49 games with Pittsburgh in 2014-15.
Jul 15 - 5:24 PM

Beau Bennett and the Pittsburgh Penguins have started contract talks.

The soon-to-be restricted free agent produced four goals and 12 points in 49 contests this past campaign. Injuries have set him back, but as long as he gets opportunities on one of Pittsburgh's top two lines, Bennett will remain someone to consider in fantasy leagues.
Jun 22 - 12:08 PM

In retrospect, Penguins GM Jim Rutherford feels he should have sent Beau Bennett to the minors before he became eligible for waivers.

Bennett has a lot of potential and so far the 23-year-old forward hasn't lived up to it. Although injuries have been an issue for him in recent years, he was also limited to just four goals and 12 points in 49 contests in 2014-15. He's still worth keeping an eye on and maybe in a couple years he'll be able to secure a regular spot on one of the Penguins' top two lines.
Apr 28 - 11:37 AM

Beau Bennett will be sidelined for Game 3 because of an upper-body injury.

Scott Wilson will dress in his place. Bennett logged just 5:21 of ice time in Saturday's contest and he had 10:42 of playing time in Game 1.
Apr 20 - 6:49 PM

Beau Bennett has gone 30 games without scoring a goal.

Bennett has just three goals and 11 points in 46 contests in 2014-15. He has the potential to develop into a solid top-six forward, but he'll have to move past this disappointing campaign. He's still worth keeping an eye on even though right now our expectations are low for Bennett when it comes to the playoffs - assuming of course that Pittsburgh makes the postseason at all.
