May 8 - 10:10 AM

Beau Bennett was elevated to Pittsburgh's second line at Thursday's practice.

He skated alongside Evgeni Malkin and Jarome Iginla in the place of injured winger James Neal. If Neal cannot play in Game 2 then Bennett will likely start the contest as a top-six forward after he scored a power-play goal in his playoff debut on Wednesday night.
May 2 - 1:20 PM

Beau Bennett opened the scoring in Game 1 against the Islanders with the first playoff tally of his NHL career.

The rookie forward scored on a Pittsburgh power play to begin a 5-0 onslaught of New York. Bennett had three goals and 14 points in 26 games for the Penguins during the regular season.

Apr 24 - 1:58 AM

Beau Bennett has been ruled out of Monday's game due to an upper-body injury.

The timing is unfortunate, as Bennett had set a career-high with 16:05 minutes of ice time on Saturday. With Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and James Neal sidelined, Bennett might have gotten a healthy amount of playing time again in Monday's contest if he was available.
Apr 22 - 12:43 PM

Beau Bennett feels privileged to be surrounded by so many talented veterans on the Pittsburgh Penguins.

"The biggest thing is just how all the guys on this team are just such good people," Bennett said. "Just the way they handle themselves off the ice, it's really impressive. You learn how to be a professional pretty quickly." He has produced a goal and two assists in three games during his latest NHL stint with the team to give him 12 points in 22 big-league appearances. If he continues to make good use of his size and skill then Bennett could develop into a decent power forward at the pro level.
Apr 16 - 9:26 AM

Beau Bennett has been promoted by the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Bennett has 28 points in 39 AHL games and nine points in 19 contests with Pittsburgh this season. He was taken by the Penguins with the 20th overall pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
Apr 7 - 1:24 PM

Beau Bennett has been returned to the minors.

He was sent down so the Penguins could activate Evgeni Malkin off injured reserve. The Penguins had said that Bennet would stay up with the team for the remainder of the season, but with Brenden Morrow and Jarome Iginla acquired through recent trades, the 21-year-old rookie has probably lost his roster spot.
Mar 28 - 6:13 PM

Beau Bennett will stay up with the Pittsburgh Penguins for the rest of the season, but where he plays is still open to interpretation.

Coach Dan Bylsma said then that Bennett could play with Evgeni Malkin upon his return from injury or with Brandon Sutter on the third line. "He certainly could add skill to a third-line position," Bylsma said Wednesday. "He could add skill to a fourth-line position depending how you go forward into the playoffs." Bennett has two goals and eight points in 16 NHL games this season. He is currently playing on the second line with James Neal and Dustin Jeffrey.
Mar 21 - 11:34 AM

The rookie forward is in a great situation with the Penguins. Bennett, who also had two penalty minutes, five shots on goal and a team-high plus-three rating, has six points in 10 games, though his playing time has been a bit limited as he gets acclimated to the NHL. Pascal Dupuis, James Neal and Sidney Crosby picked up the other goals. Kris Letang and Paul Martin had two assists.
Mar 9 - 10:02 PM

As expected, Beau Bennett was recalled from the minors Tuesday.

Coach Dan Bylsma will play Bennett on a line with Evgeni Malkin and James Neal Thursday night at Philadelphia. "That's the line he's going to play with," said the Penguins bench boss. "All three periods." Bennett has generated a goal and two assists in his past four games with Pittsburgh. He has skill and could be a player to watch due to his planned increased role.
Mar 6 - 1:02 PM

Beau Bennett's demotion to the minors may not last long.

Zach Boychuk was placed on waivers Monday and Bennett was returned to the minors, so that Pittsburgh could activate Evgeni Malkin from injured reserve. Once Boychuk clears or is claimed, Bennett could be brought back up.
