Beau Bennett has been placed on waivers by the St. Louis Blues.
Bennett inked a one-year, $650,000 contract with the Blues over the summer. There was a time when he was seen as having considerable upside, but unfortunately it hasn't been realized. We wouldn't be shocked if he got claimed, but we don't anticipate him having any fantasy value this season. Sep 27 - 12:37 PM

The Blues have signed Beau Bennett to a one-year, $650,000 deal.

Bennet, who was considered by many to have tremendous potential, has been a flop in both Pittsburgh and New Jersey. Will it be any different in St. Louis? We won't hold our breath, but at $650,000 the Blues haven't invested much and he could pan out as a late bloomer.
Jul 1 - 1:22 PM

Beau Bennett was not tendered a qualifying offer prior to Monday's deadline.

Bennett can explore free agency as a result. The Devils signed him to a one-year, $725,000 deal last year after they didn't give him a qualifying offer, so he still could be back with the team. Bennett recorded eight goals and 11 assists in 65 games over the 2016-17 campaign.
Jun 27 - 11:16 AM

Beau Bennett scored both of the Devils' goals in a 4-2 loss to the Islanders Saturday night.

Bennett is up to eight goals and 19 points in 64 games this season. Miles Wood and Dalton Prout each registered an assist for New Jersey.
Apr 8 - 8:37 PM

Beau Bennett could be spending his only season in New Jersey this year.

Bennett is an RFA after this season and he is not sure the Devils will want to re-sign him. As per usual Bennett was hurt this season and has only five goals and 15 points in 53 games but has points in each of his last four games. "It’s nice to get the results," Bennett said. "Getting chances is great because you know it will come eventually. When you’re getting into 30, 40 games before it starts coming, it can be frustrating at times. You’ve just got to trust that if you’re creating chances, it’ll eventually go in. Now, I’ve just got to try to work my way up to getting two points in a game rather than just one."
Mar 19 - 8:23 AM

Feb 16 - 3:10 PM

Beau Bennett (lower body) might make his return on Thursday.

Bennett has missed nine straight games. That being said, he was reportedly healthy enough to play on Tuesday, but Devils coach John Hynes decided to push back his return. Bennett practiced again on Wednesday, but he was rotating in and out of the fourth line, so there still might not be a spot for him.
Feb 16 - 4:40 AM

Beau Bennett (lower body) will sit for a ninth straight game Tuesday night.

He took part in the morning skate, but doesn't appear to be ready to return yet. Still, he is close to playing again for the first time since Jan. 20.
Feb 14 - 5:08 PM

Beau Bennett (lower body) was able to participate in Monday's practice.

Devils coach John Hynes described Bennett as "pretty close" to returning. Bennett might be available on Tuesday, but it's possible he might be scratched even if he is healthy. He wasn't a regular member of any of the Devils' four lines during Monday's practice, but he did rotate in as part of the fourth line.
Feb 14 - 6:11 AM

The Devils expect Beau Bennett (lower body) to return to the lineup sometime next week.

He's been out of the lineup since Jan. 20th. The Devils will play at home three times next week, including back-to-back games with the Islanders over the weekend.
Feb 11 - 7:13 PM

Beau Bennett (lower body) skated in Monday's session, but he won't play against Buffalo.

He hasn't played since Jan. 20 because of a lower-body injury, but his extra conditioning work after the morning skate is an encouraging sign.

Bennett is on the injured reserve list, though he can be activated whenever he's healthy at this point. He has three goals and 10 points in 40 contests in 2016-17.
