Beau Bennett shrugged off Penguins coach Dan Bylsma's decision to demote him to the third line during Game 1 of the first round.
"It's not tough," Bennett said. "Honestly, in the playoffs, you leave your ego at the door. Whatever happens, you're trying to get 16 wins. That's the end goal." Bylsma liked how the switch worked out, so Bennett might end up staying on the third line for now. Bennett ended up with a power-play goal and got the primary assist on the game-winner with his new linemate, Brandon Sutter. Apr 17 - 10:11 AM

Beau Bennett scored a goal and added an assist for Pittsburgh in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Blue Jackets to take a 1-0 series lead.

Bennett missed the better part of the season due to injury, but he's gotten healthy at the right time and seems ready to contribute to Pittsburgh's Stanley Cup quest. Brandon Sutter, Matt Niskanen and Jussi Jokinen also tallied for the Penguins in the victory while Evgeni Malkin and Paul Martin each registered a pair of helpers.

Beau Bennett will play on the Penguins' second line on Friday.

Pittsburgh is dealing with a few injuries, so Bennett will get a chance to play alongside Jussi Jokinen and James Neal. Bennett has a goal and three points in 12 games this season.

He had one assist in three games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Bennett has been recalled by Pittsburgh after recovering from a broken wrist.
Mar 27 - 1:01 PM

Beau Bennett picked up an assist in his second rehab game in the AHL.

Bennett is in the minors on a conditioning stint as he is recovering from a broken wrist. The Penguins will make a decision in the next two days as to whether or not to recall Bennett or let him play another minor league game as the Baby Pens play Providence on Wednesday. Bennett is someone to watch out for next season as he will be a top-six forward and likely play with either Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin.
Mar 24 - 8:15 AM

Beau Bennett (wrist) has been sent to the AHL on a conditioning stint.

The plan is for Bennett to play in a few games before rejoining the Penguins. Bennett has been limited to just 12 contests this season.
Mar 21 - 1:33 PM

Beau Bennett is also slated for practice with the Pittsburgh Penguins as he rehabs from wrist surgery.

Much like Kris Letang, his return was (and maybe is) a big question mark. He hasn't delivered fantasy-wise as many expected, but would add much needed skill - maybe to the Penguins' top six - for a team that's been struggling from a depth and injuries perspective.
Mar 16 - 3:30 PM

Injured right winger Beau Bennett should be re-evaluated by a Penguins physician today, coach Dan Bylsma said.

"There's reason for optimism, I guess," Bylsma said. "It's not black-and-white perfect, but he's been able to practice and do a lot … it's been a good week from that standpoint." Bennett has missed 43 consecutive games because of an injured wrist. His projected return was delayed by a setback. Bylsma repeatedly has said Bennett is unlikely to jump into a role on the top two lines, even though he was skating with center Sidney Crosby at the time of his injury on Nov. 22 and the Penguins are without their two top right wingers in Pascal Dupuis (knee) and James Neal (concussion). Bennett has played in only 12 games in his second NHL season.
Mar 16 - 11:02 AM

Beau Bennett (broken hand/wrist) finally returned to practice on Sunday.

Bennett has been out of action since November 22 when he has injured against the Islanders. Bennett practiced alongside with Brian Gibbons and Chris Conner who are also trying to recover from various injuries. Bennett thinks he can return in 10 days but coach Dan Bylsma said there is no current timetable for his return. The offensively minded Bennett has a goal and three points in 12 games this season.
Mar 10 - 9:03 AM

Beau Bennett will need another three-to-four weeks to recover from his broken wrist/hand.

Bennett suffered a setback, which has pushed back his original timetable. Injuries have limited him to just 12 games this season.
Feb 25 - 1:14 PM

Beau Bennett (broken wrist/hand) is still not close to returning to action.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that Bennett is still stick-handling with only one hand for the most part. Bennett is not practicing with the team but is skating before practice. He has a goal and three points in 12 games thus far.
Feb 24 - 8:33 AM

Look for Beau Bennett (broken wrist/hand) to return to the Penguins lineup after the Olympic break.

Bennett was been out since November 22 with the injury. He could take over the injured Pascal Dupuis' spot on the Sidney Crosby line upon his return as he has the offensive capabilities to be a top-six forward in the NHL. He has a goal and three points in 12 games.
Feb 2 - 9:04 AM

Beau Bennett (broken wrist/hand) isn't expected to return before the Olympic break.

"He's holding a stick but can't catch a pass yet," Bylsma said, referring to Bennett. The Penguins will return from the break on Feb. 27. Bennett has a goal and three points in 12 games this season.
Jan 14 - 10:18 AM

Beau Bennett (broken wrist/hand) has been working out without a cast, according to coach Dan Bylsma.

Bennett has been out since Nov. 22 and needed surgery on his broken hand/wrist. His timetable then was said to be 8-10 weeks, which seems likely at this juncture. The winger has a goal and three points in 12 games this year.
Jan 11 - 9:08 PM

Look for Beau Bennett to play on the top line with Sidney Crosby when he returns to action from a broken wrist/hand.

Bennett will replace the injured Pascal Dupuis who is out for the season. Bennett is due back before the start of the Olympic Games and he should have plenty of fantasy value playing alongside Sid the Kid and Chris Kunitz. Grab him and stash him now if you can.
