Jarred Tinordi and Alexander Semin will be healthy scratches in Thursday's game against Arizona.

Tinordi has been a healthy scratch in each of Montreal's games this season, but they can't send him to the AHL because he'd have to pass through waivers. Semin, who was a healthy scratch in seven games earlier this month, was a non-factor in the Canadiens' last two games.

Jarred Tinordi will be a healthy scratch in Monday's game against Vancouver.

Tinordi has been a healthy scratch in each of Montreal's games this season. You have to wonder if the Tinordi camp is getting fed up of it. The former first round pick can't be sent to the minors because he'd have to clear waivers. Hockey insiders have already talked about the possibility of him being shipped out of town. Paul Byron will also be scratched on Monday night.

Surprise, surpise, there are still no lineup changes to report for the Montreal Canadiens.

Eight games, eight wins. Coach Therrien isn't straying from what works aside from giving MVP Carey Price a breather now and then. Thus Jarred Tinordi, Greg Pateryn, and Paul Byron will remain healthy scratches.

Coach Therrien will not make any lineup changes his Canadiens as they take on the Blues on Tuesday night.

As the final remaining undefeated team, why would he? A six-game winning streak is a six-game winning streak, and Coach Therrien probably feels his boys have earned the right to stay in. Thus Jarred Tinordi, Greg Pateryn, and Paul Byron will remain healthy scratches.
Oct 20 - 7:22 PM

Jarred Tinordi, Greg Pateryn, and Paul Byron will remain scratches for the Habs against the Red Wings on Saturday night.

Perhaps it's Coach Therrien not wanting to change a lineup that's undefeated through five games, but at some point time will come to see what these three have to offer Montreal.

Jarred Tinordi, Greg Pateryn, and Paul Byron are the scratches for the Habs against the Penguins on Tuesday night.

Unfortunately, not much fantasy value can be expected from any of these three. Though Tinordi at least boasts an NHL heritage, and Byron is a good depth player.

Jarred Tinordi, Greg Pateryn and Paul Byron are the scratches for the Habs against the Bruins.

The Habs decided against making any lineup changes to the one that won against the Maple Leafs on Wednesday night. We might see some changes to the Canadiens lineup Saturday when they take on the Sens.
Oct 10 - 7:30 PM

Jarred Tinordi struggled mightily in Montreal's 5-4 preseason loss to Ottawa on Saturday night.

The big stay-at-home defenseman finished the night with a giveaway, no hits, no blocked shots and a minus-3 rating. The 23-year-old was Montreal's first round pick, 22nd overall, in 2010 but he hasn't been able to establish himself as a refular in the NHL just yet. One of the things working in Tinordi's favor is that Montreal would have to put him on waivers if they decide to send him back to the AHL. Considering his size (6'6, 225 pounds) and his age, there's no guarantee he wouldn't get scooped up by another team. Expect him to start the season as Montreal's seventh or eighth defenseman.
Oct 4 - 8:03 AM

Jarred Tinordi would have to clear waivers to be sent down to the minors, so he'll probably start the season with Montreal.

The Canadiens may carry eight defensemen, but it wouldn't be an ideal situation to have young defenders like Tinordi or Greg Pateryn sitting out games. That could lead to a trade taking shape if GM Marc Bergevin can find a willing partner.
Oct 1 - 10:27 AM

Jarred Tinordi is competing to be Montreal's seventh defenseman this season.

He is vying for the position with Greg Pateryn and Mark Barberio at training camp. "I am excited. It's been a while since I played a game," said Tinordi, who had his 2014-15 ended early because of wrist surgery. "I am looking forward to playing a real game against an opponent." Tinordi has 43 games of NHL experience since being drafted 22nd overall in 2010.
Sep 22 - 10:41 AM

Jarred Tinordi has agreed to a one-year, two-way contract with Montreal.

Tinordi had two points and 19 penalty minutes in 13 games with Montreal in 2014-15. He also had seven points and 36 penalty minutes in 44 AHL contests.
Jul 16 - 11:08 AM

Jarred Tinordi has been sent to the minors.

Tinordi has two assists and 19 penalty minutes in 13 contests in 2014-15. He also has seven points and 34 penalty minutes in 35 AHL games.
Feb 27 - 12:31 PM

Jarred Tinordi dropped the gloves with Blue Jackets forward David Boll on Saturday.

Tinordi didn't like the way Boll went after teammate Christian Thomas. The 23-year-old has now dropped the gloves in both games he's played since being called up from Hamilton last week. Tinordi will never put up big offensive numbers, but he could be a good source of penalty minutes if he's able to stick with the club. He has 12 penalty minutes in his last two contests.
Feb 22 - 9:20 AM

Jarred Tinordi brought a physical presence to Thursday's game against Florida.

Tinordi dished out some hits and even dropped the gloves with Alex Petrovic. The 23-year-old has spent the majority of the season with Hamilton in the AHL, but recent injuries to Alexei Emelin and Sergei Gonchar have opened up a spot for him in Montreal. He should be a good source of hits and penalty minutes while Gonchar and Emelin are out.
