Tyler Toffoli drew an assist on the Stanley Cup winner by Alec Martinez.
The Kings second round pick, 47th overall in 2010, had seven goals and 14 points in 26 games during the playoffs and clicked amazingly well with Jeff Carter and Tanner Pearson on the Kings second line. Given Tyler Toffoli's lack of experience compared to most of the Kings, he's likely one of the most nervous going into Game 4 on Wednesday.

Toffoli and the Kings have an opportunity to sweep the Rangers and he's been losing sleep over that. "I fell asleep at 9 [on Tuesday night], woke up at 12 and then didn't fall back asleep 'til about 3," Toffoli said. "I was excited. There was a lot of thoughts going through my mind. But today, it's all business. You've got to be focused and ready for the big task at hand." Toffoli has veterans he can draw on to help get through this. He's already accomplished plenty though by scoring seven goals and 13 points in 24 playoff games.

Tyler Toffoli has yet to pick up a point in the first two games of the Stanley Cup Final.

Toffoli does have eight shots on goal in his last two games so it should be just a matter of time until he cracks the scoresheet. The winger has seven goals and 13 points in 23 playoff games this season. He was likely a very late pick, if chosen at all, in playoff pools so kudos if you selected him.

It was thought by many that Toffoli tipped in Alec Martinez's game winner in overtime but Toffoli denied touching it. Nevertheless, Toffoli has seven goals and 13 points in 21 games as the Kings are getting plenty of goals from everyone in the playoffs.

Tyler Toffoli lit the lamp for Los Angeles in its 4-3 victory in Game 3 of the Western Conference Final against the Blackhawks.

The 22-year-old has now scored in three straight games and has points in four straight. He has six goals and 10 points in 17 playoff games after scoring 12 times and recording 29 points in 62 regular-season tilts. Remember the name for next year's drafts: Toffoli has done nothing but score and pile up points throughout his young career in the OHL and AHL, and it would not be surprising at all to see him shine next year in the NHL. Don’t discount the experience he's getting in these playoffs, either.

May 20 - 5:24 PM

Los Angeles Kings forward Tyler Toffoli provided his team's only goal in a 3-1 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday.

Toffoli now has a point (one goal, one assist) in his last two games. While his eight points in 15 contests won't blow anyone away, it's a solid output, especially for a Kings team that tends to keep things close to the vest. At 22, he could be an interesting player to watch, at least if he gets an elevated role sooner or later.

Coach Darryl Sutter is thrilled with the play of Tyler Toffoli.

Toffoli is seeing third line duty alongside Jeff Carter and Tanner Pearson and has scored both game winning goals for the Kings in their series against San Jose. "Tyler Toffoli's been a good player all year," Sutter said. "The [salary] cap didn't allow those players to be here at the start of the season. He went down in the right frame of mind. Tyler was the guy who was [re-assigned] but he's still pretty good. He still maximizes his skill set, which is what you try to do with everybody. Ninety-five percent of the time is when he does. He's the reason why we're not not playing. He's played really well. The right wing position, the first part of the series, he's been our best right winger, that's for sure." That's heady praise for the youngster.
