It looks as if Charlie Coyle is going to get the first chance to replace Zach Parise on a line with Jason Pominville and Michal Granlund.

At least that's the way it looked during the Wild's Saturday morning scrimmages. Coyle could go on a bit of a run in this spot, so pay attention.
Nov 7 - 1:13 PM

Charlie Coyle netted two goals for the Wild in their 3-2 win against the Blues on Saturday night.

Coyle had three shots, three hits and a plus-two rating in 16:55, his final goal also stood as the game-winner. Despite the solid showing, he profiles as nothing more than waiver wire material as he has topped out at 12 goals and 35 points in his career. Zach Parise scored the other goal.
Oct 10 - 10:59 PM

Charlie Coyle has bounced between lines and positions during the preseason.

The good news for the Wild is that he has been productive on the wing and at center during his exhibition appearances, with five points in two games. "Most successful teams, there's players on those teams where they bounce from center to wing based on injuries, based on needs," coach Mike Yeo said. "But they have that ability, and that makes them very useful players. Charlie's showing he can play on different types on lines, play in different positions." He has also taken on a role as a penalty killer.
Oct 1 - 11:39 AM

Charlie Coyle notched three assists in Minnesota's 5-2 win over Columbus in preseason action on Thursday night.

The 23-year-old center had 35 points last season, and has the offensive ability to improve on that point total in 2015-2016. If you believe this to be his breakout year, save him for the late rounds or a waiver wire pickup.
Sep 24 - 10:39 PM

Charlie Coyle registered a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win for the United States over Switzerland on Thursday.

The victory put Team USA into the semifinals of the World Hockey Championships, where they will play against Russia. Coyle has three points in three games for the U.S. at the tournament. Ben Smith and Jake Gardiner had the other goals in the contest.
May 14 - 4:20 PM

Charlie Coyle is projected to play on the second line with Mikko Koivu and Jason Zucker in Game 4.

May 7 - 4:26 PM

Charlie Coyle scored his first goal of the playoffs, helping to seal Minnesota's 4-1 Game Five victory on Friday night.

Coyle's role was important, he got himself open and hit the net. But it was Thomas Vanek's hard work that helped set up the tally. Vanek beat Blues defender Jay Bouwmeester to the puck by the penalty box and rushed for the net. After being forced into the far corner, Vanek maintained control despite being surrounded by Bouwmeester, Patrik Berglund, and Alex Pietrangelo and found Coyle top of the right offensive corner for the one-timer.
Apr 25 - 1:21 AM

Charlie Coyle believes the Wild are still in a good spot even after dropping game two on Saturday night.

The Wild took it to the Blues in game one, but St. Louis was able to respond with a big win on home ice. The series has been physical and Coyle liked the way his team responded in that department. "They came out physical, and we matched it if not better," Coyle said. "We’re in a good position. It’s a tied series right now, going back home [Monday]. We’ll take that."
Apr 19 - 10:30 AM

Charlie Coyle scored a sneaky goal on Jonathan Bernier off a late first period faceoffs for his 11th of the season.

Coyle intentionally lost the faceoff, instead opting to intercept Trevor Smith's pull back to the point. The initial shot was flubbed, and Thomas Vanek would eventually put the puck on goal before Coyle finished on the rebound. Coyle now has 34 points in 73 games this season.

Mar 17 - 10:57 PM

Charlie Coyle found the back of the net in a 3-1 victory versus Carolina on Friday.

It was Coyle's first goal since Feb. 7. After recording 30 points in 70 contests in 2013-14, the 23-year-old forward hasn't been able to take a significant step forward this season in terms of his offensive production. Nevertheless, it wouldn't be shocking to see him set a new career-high in 2015-16.

While it won’t show on the scoresheet, Jared Spurgeon was on the ice for 28 shot attempts for, compared to just seven against, leading the team with a 21-shot differential.
