Despite a lackluster second half of the season, Wild forward Charlie Coyle believes his team can beat anyone in the playoffs.

"It’s been a weird year, but we know we’re capable of beating anybody, and it’s up to every one in here to prove it again," said Coyle. "We have a team that beat some very good teams in the first round the last two years, and we now we have to do it again. Everyone’s excited for it." The Wild really backed into the playoffs, but they'll take a spot in the postseason any way they can. One thing the Wild has going for them is experience. They have 13 players on the roster (including Coyle) who've played at least 23 playoff games in their career. They have a first round matchup against the Dallas Stars.

Charlie Coyle is expected to play center in Sunday's game against Winnipeg.

It's the first time Coyle plays center under interim coach John Torchetti. He'll be on a line with Thomas Vanek and Jason Zucker. The Wild are hoping Coyle will find his game by playing down the middle. He has no goals and eight assists in his last 14 contests.
Apr 3 - 10:43 AM

He hasn't scored a goal since Mar. 1, but he has contributed eight assists over the last nine matches. Coyle has 21 goals and 21 helpers in 75 games this year.
Mar 25 - 9:55 AM

Charlie Coyle said he owes much of his breakout season to the tutelage of Glen Tucker, who has worked with several NHLers on their shots.

"He just knows the technique and works on shooting from uncomfortable positions," Coyle said. "That's hockey. How many times do you get the puck in the slot and you can cock it with perfect form? It's not a lot. So you've got to be able to spring it from anywhere as quick as you can. He calls it a twitch." He has scored a personal best 21 goals this campaign after netting 23 in his previous two seasons combined.
Mar 14 - 11:23 AM

Charlie Coyle scored a pair of goals to help Minnesota post a 6-3 win over Colorado on Tuesday night.

He scored back-to-back goals in the third period to break a 3-3 tie. Zach Parise assisted on both markers. Coyle hit and surpassed the 20-goal mark for the first time in his NHL career in the process. He has 21 goals and 34 points in 64 games.
Mar 2 - 10:16 AM

Charlie Coyle picked up his 19th goal of the season during Sunday's 3-1 win over Florida.

With that tally, Coyle's now up to 32 points on the season which is just three shy of the career high he set last season. In fact, it appears more and more likely that he'll get to 40+ points for the first time as he exits February having scored six goals and seven points in 14 games.
Feb 28 - 6:40 PM

Charlie Coyle is turning red with goals in four of his last five games, including three straight.

Charlie Coyle whipped out a beauty of a deke to beat Jonathan Quick in Thursday's 3-0 win.

It all started with a shred lob-pass from Marco Scandella as the second period was in its final seconds. Coyle managed to calm the puck down and pull out a move he's clearly practiced many times before for his 11th of the season, and first in 10 games.
Jan 22 - 1:30 AM

Charlie Coyle recorded two points in the Wild’s 3-2 shootout loss to the Lightning on Saturday night.

He scored his 10th in the first period, then assisted on Jared Spurgeon’s goal in the third that knotted the game at two. Coyle has two goals and four points during a three-game point streak. He has 21 points on the year, so he’s more of a depth player for fantasy purposes.
