Charlie Coyle got back in the lineup on Monday night against New Jersey.
Coyle missed 16 games after he suffered a fibula fracture back on Oct. 12 and surprisingly he returned before he participated in a full practice. He started Monday's contest on the fourth line with Matt Cullen and Tyler Ennis, but saw some shifts on the top combination. Coyle should be back in top-six forward role once he gets his timing back. Charlie Coyle (fibula fracture) skated with his teammates on Tuesday morning.

"It feels good," Coyle said. "I've made a lot of steps, a lot of strides. ... Not really thinking about it when I'm out there, either. It was nice to get back out there and skate with someone for a change." It was his first session with the team since he was hurt back on Oct. 12. There is no definitive timetable for his return, but initially it was thought he could be back in late November or early December.

Coach Bruce Boudreau wants to see Charlie Coyle shoot more often this season.

"I know I have to be more selfish," said Coyle. "It doesn't come naturally, but it's the right thing to do. You don't get that many opportunities to shoot the puck in this league. When you do, you have to take advantage. Being selfish here is a good thing most of the time. I just have to get it into my head to put it on net, and not always look for other guys and try to make the pretty play." He scored 18 goals and registered a personal high 56 points last season. Coyle is slated to start the year alongside Eric Staal and Nino Niederreiter.

Charlie Coyle believes the Minnesota Wild can push the Blues in their best-of-seven series.

Minnesota was able to cut their deficit to 3-1 in the series thanks to a big win in Game 4. Even though the odds aren't in their favor, Coyle believes his team can make a comeback. "I think it's huge," Coyle said of Minnesota's Game 4 win. "We get that win, and all of a sudden, they're second-guessing. They're still in the driver's seat, but they're second-guessing. The pressure's on, and now they're thinking, 'We're going back home, Game 6; if we lose this one, it's Game 7 back in their barn.' And they're starting to doubt themselves. It's such a mental thing here. That's what you learn as it goes along."
