Calvin Pickard will be credited with the 1-0 loss to the Coyotes Monday night, but his save percentage of .971 was impressive nonetheless.

Pickard has two shutouts this year, but this was his fifth-best save percentage. It is also the sixth time that he has lost a decision when he has recorded .935 or greater. The Avalanche need to give him a little more offensive help.

Calvin Pickard made 25 saves on 27 shots to help the Avalanche to a 3-2 win over New Jersey on Thursday.

It was his second straight win in as many starts after allowing just one goal against Carolina on Tuesday. Pickard now has 12 wins on the season but is still playing behind one of the worst teams in the NHL. We still don't recommend starting him.

Calvin Pickard stopped 25 of 26 shots Tuesday night as the Avalanche beat the Hurricanes 3-1.

This was Pickard’s fifth-best save percentage of the year. When Pickard is successful, so are the Avalanche. He has two previous shutouts and has won six games when he has had save percentages greater than .950. Unfortunately with a season-long save percentage of .907, there have been plenty of times when he has not been successful.
