Nick Bjugstad has an upper-body injury.

He has had issues with his head in the past, with concussion and migraine problems, so hopefully that isn't the case here. Consider Bjugstad day-to-day for the time being.
Oct 5 - 2:52 PM

Nick Bjugstad's linemates for the 2016-17 season will be decided in the final week of training camp.

Jared McCann, Colton Sceviour and Jonathan Marchessault are to be competing for jobs on the third line of the Panthers. The last three preseason games will probably help with the decision.

After years of losing, the Florida Panthers have a winning mentality.

"We have our own expectations and don’t really rely on what others say about us," said Nick Bjugstad. "We all expect to win, have a winning mentality that has been introduced the past couple of years. Us younger guys have learned it’s not acceptable to miss the playoffs. That has been instilled by our veteran guys, our coaches, our organization. We’re all buying in. Everyone wants to win here, not just the players." Expect the Panthers to be one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference this season.

The Panthers don't plan to move Nick Bjugstad.

There were reports a couple of weeks ago that trade possibilities were being considered, but it doesn't appear as though he is going anywhere. Bjugstad struggled with injuries last year and recorded just 34 points in 67 games. He will look to get back on track in 2016-17.

The Ottawa Sun’s Bruce Garrioch says the Panthers are "trying to move" Nick Bjugstad.

With a remade front office, it makes sense that they’d want "their" guys, but it would seem that Bjugstad could be a key player for easily the five years that remain on the six-year, $24.6 million contract. Bjugstad is big and skilled. He was banged up a little this past year, though, recording 15 goals and 34 points in 72 games.

Nick Bjugstad (head) said he would have played in Game 7 had there been one.

The Islanders knocked the Panthers out in Round 1 of the playoffs in the sixth game of the series. He was sent head-first into the boards in Game 5, but reported that he was symptom-free. That's good news as it won't disrupt his off-season training. Bjugstand was limited to 67 games during the regular season, but he enjoyed the success Florida had during the year and he's excited for the 2016-17 campaign.
May 9 - 10:26 AM

Although Nick Bjugstad will not play Sunday night, the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel’s Harvey Fialkov hears that Bjugstad is "doing great."

In fact, Logan Shaw spoke to Bjugstad, who didn’t travel to New York. "That was some pretty scary stuff the other day," Shaw said. "He seems fine; I talked to him the other day. Obviously, we want to make sure we give him another chance to play." Bjugstad crashed face-first into the boards in Game 5, so this is great news.

Nick Bjugstad didn't travel to New York with the rest of his teammates ahead of Game 6.

Bjugstad crashed face-first into the boards in Game 5 and he's now day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Bjugstad needed stitches above his eye. He isn't expected to be available for Game 6 on Sunday night.
Apr 24 - 11:08 AM

Nick Bjugstad is questionable for Sunday's Game 6.

He sustained a head injury in Friday night's 2-1 double overtime loss after he was checked by the Islanders' Shane Prince and went into the boards. Bjugstad needed stitches to close a gash but it is unknown at this time if he sustained a concussion or any other head injury. Stay tuned for further updates.

Apr 18 - 10:10 AM

The line of Nick Bjugstad, Reilly Smith and Jussi Jokinen has arguably been Florida's best line in the playoffs.

The trio have combined to score five of the Panthers' seven goals this postseason and they've managed to put up 11 points in just two games. Bjugstad's first playoff goal proved to be the game-winner in Game 2. "It was exciting," Bjugstad said of his first career playoff goal. "I was right in front all alone. Reilly threw a great pass and I put it in. I definitely got the goose-bumps going through the line."
Apr 17 - 11:39 AM

Nick Bjugstad is now riding a three game point streak thanks to his 15th goal of the season.

Florida topped Montreal 4-1 on Tuesday as well. It's been a season marred by inconsistency and injury for the youngster, but it looks like he'll be finishing the season strong as Florida heads to the playoffs.
Apr 6 - 12:56 AM

Nick Bjugstad scored in Monday's 4-3 win over Toronto.
