Nick Bjugstad centered the top line Thursday night against Montreal.

He skated between Jaromir Jagr and Seth Griffith because of an injury to Aleksander Barkov. Bjugstad has been getting chances on Florida's top-two lines lately to try to get him going offensively, but he is still stuck on one goal and one assist over 18 appearances.

Nick Bjugstad will move to right wing on Wednesday night against Toronto.

He will skate on the second line with Vincent Trocheck and Jussi Jokinen because Reilly Smith is out with a concussion. "I want to give [Bjugstad] some top-six minutes to get him going," said interim bench boss Tom Rowe. "We talked about him getting off the schneid a little bit. He's got one but we need more out of him." Bjugstad has recorded just one goal and one assist in 16 games since returning from a broken wrist.

Nick Bjugstad was shifted back to center prior to the Panthers' 2-0 loss to Ottawa Saturday night.

Bjugstad had a five-game trial on the wing alongside Denis Malgin that didn't work out too well. Panthers' interim coach Tom Rowe shifted Bjugstad back to the pivot position. It doesn't really make much of a difference to Bjugstad's fantasy value as in either case he is still playing on the Cats' third line.

Nick Bjugstad saw some work on the power play Wednesday at practice.

He was on the top unit last year, so it was only a matter of time before he got a chance this season. "I didn't expect much, just trying to get back into it, trying to get my legs and the pack back," said Bjugstad, who has no points after four contests. "I think they're going to rotate me in a little bit and now I have to prove myself. It has been a while and coming back from a wrist injury, you're not shooting 100 percent."
