Signing with the Winnipeg Jets was "a dream come true" for Quinton Howden.
Howden, who was born in Winnipeg, signed with the Jets as an unrestricted free agent over the summer. "This is a dream come true. I’ve said it lots of times before but it still hasn’t sunk in," said Howden. "It feels like in two weeks I’ve got to pack up and leave again. I’m so used to doing that. It’s nice to be settled and I’m really excited to get things under way." The 24-year-old was originally drafted by Florida in the first round of the 2010 draft. He had six goals and 11 points in 58 games with the Panthers last season. This may be a nice story, but don't expect Howden to have any fantasy value this season. Aug 29 - 10:27 AM

Quinton Howden didn't get a qualifying offer from Florida.

He skated in 58 games with the Panthers in 2015-16, but he also spent plenty of time in the press box as a healthy scratch. Greg McKegg, Dylan Olsen and John McFarland weren't tendered qualifying offers either, so all of them can become UFAs on July 1.

Quinton Howden has been a healthy scratch for the last four games.

He has also been in the press box for six of the past seven. Coach Gerard Gallant has liked the play of Garrett Wilson on the fourth line and Howden hasn't played since he made a costly turnover against the Islanders back on Mar. 14.
