The New York Islanders selected Brock Nelson with the 30th and final pick of the first round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

The Islanders sent the 35th and 58th overall picks to Chicago in order to move up to 30th and grab Nelson. While he projects to be a bit of a project, as all high school players do, he has a good chance of eventually developing into a decent NHLer. There were questions concerning the talent level of his high school league, making it hard for scouts to get a read on him, but the Islanders certainly saw something they liked and chose to move up to pick him.
