Jimmy Hayes will represent Team USA at the World Hockey Championships in May.

The tournament runs from May 9-25 in Minsk, Belarus. Hayes produced 11 goals and 18 points in 55 games this past season with Florida and Chicago. He skated in just two games with the Blackhawks before being moved to the Panthers.
Apr 19 - 9:56 AM

Jimmy Hayes netted his 11th goal of the season as he and the hapless Panthers dropped a 3-2 decision to the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets Saturday night.

Florida's other goal scorer was Vincent Trochek, his fifth of the season. It was the final game of the season for the Panthers, who have failed to qualify for the post-season in 12 of their past 13 campaigns.
Apr 12 - 10:23 PM

Jimmy Hayes potted his 10th goal of the year in Sunday's loss to Anaheim.

Krys Barch was originally credited with the marker and it would've ended a 76-game drought, but it was changed later after it was discovered that it banked off Hayes. Hayes has generated six goals and four assists in 13 games this month.
Mar 24 - 10:02 AM

Don't look now, but Jimmy Hayes might be worth adding for those desperate for scoring.

The Florida Panthers forward has five of his 13 points this season in the last five games, including four goals. He obviously doesn't have a long track record of success, but could conceivably remain hot in this final month; he scored two goals for the Panthers in a 4-3 SO loss to Vancouver on Sunday.
Mar 16 - 7:04 PM

Florida Panthers youngster Jimmy Hayes recorded the first two-goal game of his NHL career, but his team lost to the Boston Bruins 5-2 on Sunday.

Hayes now has seven goals and nine assists in 37 games played. He's obviously not quite there yet from a fantasy standpoint, but the Panthers hope that the 24-year-old might develop into a more productive NHL player in the future.
Mar 9 - 7:53 PM

Jimmy Hayes will get some power-play time with the Panthers.

"At 6-foot-6, he's got a big body, he's got decent hands down there and you can't teach size," interim bench boss Peter Horachek said. "We need to make it as difficlut as possible for goaltenders. That's one area we clearly have to do better, obviously." Florida has the 30th-ranked power play in the league.
Feb 27 - 5:42 PM

Jimmy Hayes was a healthy scratch for Florida Monday night.

He has dressed in 22 games, where he's notched four goals and one assist, with the Panthers since being acquired from Chicago. Florida also scratched Scott Gomez for the 14th time in the past 16 games.
Jan 7 - 9:01 AM

Jimmy Hayes scored a goal in Florida's 2-1 win over Detroit.

Hayes has three goals and four points in 10 games since he was acquired from the Chicago Blackhawks. At the same time, he's averaging just 9:30 minutes per contest in Florida and that has to change before he'll have any sustained fantasy value.

Jimmy Hayes scored his first goal as a Panther in Friday's 4-3 loss to Calgary.

It was a bittersweet night for Hayes who failed to score in the sixth round of the shootout leading to the loss. Hayes has a strong track record of success in the minors but has not yet been able to translate it into any success at the NHL level. Of course, until he was traded to Florida, he had limited opportunities with the powerful Blackhawks. It remains to be seen if Hayes will fare any better with the Cats, but he's worth keeping on an eye on.

Jimmy Hayes made his Florida Panthers debut on Saturday.

Hayes was acquired by the Florida Panthers from Chicago as part of the Kris Versteeg trade. He's put up solid numbers in the AHL, but isn't expected to have any fantasy value in standard leagues this season. He logged just 7:20 minutes in Saturday's 4-1 win over Colorado.

Jimmy Hayes made it to Minnesota in time for Friday night's game but was a healthy scratch.

Hayes was the key piece in a trade involving the Panthers and Blackhawks early Friday morning and arrived in time to play with nis new teammates against the Wild. The coaching staff however, felt it was best for Hayes to sit the game out. There is now word on whether Hayes will suit up in Colorado Saturday night. Our feeling is, he will. That said, we have not been impressed with Hayes in his limited time with the Hawks. Perhaps that will change if he gets more meaningful itce time in Florida.

Jimmy Hayes was part of a four player trade that saw him go to Florida from Chicago.

Hayes and Dylan Olsen went to the Panthers with Kris Versteeg and Philippe Lefebvre going the other way. Hayes started the season with Chicago and played two games before being sent to Rockford of the AHL where he had four goals and eight points in 13 games. He should get a shot with the Panthers immediately. "We are pleased to welcome both Jimmy and Dylan to the Panthers," Florida GM Dale Tallon said in a statement. "Jimmy is a young, strong, hardworking, versatile forward who brings both size and skill to our team. Dylan, a former first-round draft pick, is a young, solid defenseman who adds further depth to our blue line. We thank Kris for his contributions to the Panthers, including helping us win 2011-12 Southeast Division Championship, and wish him the best of luck in his return to Chicago."
