Date:

Jimmy Hayes and Tommy Cross will join captain Zdeno Chara in the press box on Saturday against the Sabres.

While Cross has yet to make his debut and Chara remains out, Hayes has just a point (a goal) in 22 games this season. So there isn't much fantasy value here unfortunately.

Dec 3 - 1:04 PM

It took until his 20th game and 34th shot, but Jimmy Hayes finally scored his first goal of the season during Sunday's 4-1 win over the Lightning.

Hayes even went with the "monkey-off-my-back" celebration to commemorate the moment. He may never be counted on as a scoring leader, but he's well capable of about 15 goals and 35 points. Hopefully this is the springboard he needs to success.
Nov 27 - 5:06 PM

Jimmy Hayes has no points through 18 games this season.

He also has a minus-11 rating and 33 shots on goal. Hayes could benefit from some time in the minors to get his confidence back.
Nov 25 - 7:33 AM

Jimmy Hayes got back into the lineup on Tuesday.

He saw just 9:26 of ice time versus Montreal after he was a healthy scratch for the previous two contests. Hayes returned because of an injury to Noel Acciari. He has no points in 11 appearances this year.
Nov 9 - 7:23 AM

Jimmy Hayes is expected to be a healthy scratch in Monday's game against Buffalo.

Hayes was the odd-man out during the team's morning skate. This will be his second straight game as a healthy scratch. Hayes has no goals or points in 10 games this season. Joe Morrow will serve as the extra defenseman.
Nov 7 - 6:40 PM

Jimmy Hayes has been made a late scratch against the Rangers on Saturday.

Hayes has no points with seven PIMs and 17 hits through 10 games, so it's no wonder why he won't faceoff once again versus his brother Kevin.
Nov 5 - 6:42 PM

Jimmy Hayes recorded the shootout winner Thursday in a 4-3 victory over Tampa Bay.

"It's sure nice to be able to contribute the way you want to," said Hayes. "It's been up and down here. I've just got to continue to build off this and find a way to find the back of the net." The shootout between the Bruins and Lightning went 10 rounds before Hayes scored the deciding goal. He was limited to just 8:37 of ice time in the contest and hasn't picked up a point in 10 straight games. Perhaps scoring in the shootout will give him some confidence.
Nov 4 - 7:27 AM

Jimmy Hayes scored Boston's first goal of the preseason in a 3-2 shootout loss to Columbus on Monday.

He didn't have a problem when GM Don Sweeney calling him out at the end of the 2015-16 campaign. "It's the truth, you've got to hear stuff," said Hayes. "He made it clear to myself, too. I expected more of myself. I've got to make sure to play this year at a high level." He recorded 13 goals and 29 points in 75 games last year.
Sep 27 - 9:42 AM

The Boston Bruins will need Jimmy Hayes to step up in 2016-17.

The big forward struggled with consistency in 2015-16. He finished the year with no points in his last 16 games and had one point in 15 games during a stretch in late-November to early-December. "I think Jimmy had a pretty start to the year, but he really tailed off when the team needed him most," said GM Don Sweeney. "He should take some responsibility for that. We had a pretty frank discussion about that to challenge him to take his game to another level, and be able to help out a younger player."
Jun 26 - 1:17 PM

Jimmy Hayes had an MCL strain at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.

Hayes struggled during his first year with Boston. He notched just 13 goals and 29 points in 75 contests.
Apr 12 - 7:48 AM

Jimmy Hayes didn't participate in Wednesday's practice.

It's unclear what is bothering Hayes, but he may have been hurt in Tuesday's fight with Carolina's Brad Malone. Coach Claude Julien said that Hayes is day-to-day and he will be re-evaluated on Thursday.
Apr 6 - 2:14 PM

Jimmy Hayes fought Brad Malone during Tuesday's 2-1 shootout loss to Carolina.

Hayes saw just 5:03 of ice time during the match, so at least he made himself somewhat useful. He's now up to 60 PIMs with 29 points this season.
Apr 5 - 11:48 PM

The Boston Bruins have announced that Jimmy Hayes will not dress for Sunday's game against Chicago.

Hayes will sit for the second straight game and hasn't recorded a single point in any of his last 15 games. Tyler Randell and Kevan Miller are the other two scratches. Dennis Seidenberg and Brett Connolly are also missing the contest due to injury.
Apr 3 - 12:38 PM

Jimmy Hayes was made a late scratch for Friday's match with the Blues.

Through 74 games this season Hayes has posted 13 goals and 29 points with 55 PIMs and 128 hits. Not too shabby for the 26-year-old veteran.
