Dennis Endras has officially signed a two-way contract with the Minnesota Wild for the 2011-12 season.

Endras actually agreed to terms with Minnesota in July, but he spent the 2010-11 season with the Augsburger Panther of the German Hockey League. He had a 3.15 GAA and .901 save percentage in 45 games with the last place club this season, but he's better known for leading Germany to fourth place in the 2010 IIHF World Championship. He had a 1.15 GAA and .961 save percentage in the tournament. He'll probably start the 2011-12 season in the minors.

Dennis Endras is expected to join the Wild on Wednesday as an emergency goaltender.

He will be with the team in Europe in case an injury occurs to starter Niklas Backstrom or to backup Anton Khudobin. Endras plays for Augsburger in the German Elite League and he agreed to terms with Minnesota this past off-season. Backstrom is projected to start both games against Carolina on Thursday and Friday from Helsinki, Finland.

The Minnesota Wild have signed German netminder Dennis Endras to a contract.

No terms were announced but the outstanding goaltender will likely return to play in Germany next season before coming over to North America for the 2011-12 season if he is unable to make the Wild roster out of training camp. Endras was the top player at the World Championships in May, having a 1.15 GAA and a .961 save percentage in leading Germany to the semi-finals. He could be a good one.
