Brendan Gallagher was bumped to the team's No. 2 scoring line alongside Paul Byron and Tomas Plekanec.
Gallagher was supplanted by Arturri Lehkonen on the top line, but at least he is still a top-six forward and he'll continue to see time on the man advantage. Unlike Max Galchenyuk, who was bumped to the checking line, Gallagher won't see a huge drop in fantasy appeal. Oct 12 - 12:43 AM

Brendan Gallagher is projected to begin the regular season on Montreal's top line.

He finished training camp alongside Jonathan Drouin and Max Pacioretty and the trio clicked in Saturday's preseason finale. Coach Claude Julien expects Gallagher to rebound this year after the winger scored just 10 goals in 64 games in 2016-17. "He's a hard worker," Julien said "He's been snake-bitten a little bit with some injuries in the past, which have probably slowed him down. But I thought at the end of last year, just before the playoffs, I thought he had found his groove again and I thought he was going well. He was the Gallagher that I knew coaching against him (in Boston). Always on top of the puck, always in your face and never backing up from anything."

Brendan Gallagher scored two goals and added an assist in Saturday’s 9-2 win over the Ottawa Senators.

Gallagher has been skating on Montreal’s top line with Jonathan Drouin and Max Pacioretty. The line seemed to be firing on all cylinders during their team’s preseason finale. The 25-year-old had a rough season last year, as he accumulated just 10 goals and 29 points in 64 games, but he has the potential to net 50 points if he stays on the first line. Gallagher doesn’t have much value in standard fantasy leagues.
