Brendan Gallagher potted a goal for the Canadiens, who fell 5-4 to the Senators in their preseason final Saturday night.
Gallagher had five shots on goal as well. It would not be surprising to see him reach 30 goals this season; he gets a ton of shots on goal and is always around the puck. Alex Galchenyuk, Max Pacioretty and Dale Weise picked up the other goals. Nathan Beaulieu assisted three times. Dustin Tokarski was roughed up for five goals, making only 10 saves. Oct 3 - 9:39 PM

Brendan Gallagher says he's looking forward to suiting up with new teammates Zack Kassian and Alexander Semin.

The Canadiens acquired Kassian in an off-season trade with Vancouver, while Semin was signed as an unrestricted free-agent. "Zack Kassian, I think he’s a big body," Gallagher said. "He’s a skilled guy for his size, he can play with anyone up and down the lineup." As for Semin, Gallagher believes that he can still be a dangerous player. "Semin is a guy that other teams have to be aware of," Gallagher added. "He’s dangerous every time he’s on the ice. He doesn’t need much time and space to put the puck in the back of the net."

Brendan Gallagher has been enjoying his time playing for Canadiens head coach Michel Therrien.

Gallagher has played all three seasons under Therrien and enjoyed his most successful season last year, scoring 24 goals and 47 points while playing in all 82 games. He also recorded career bests with a plus 18 rating and 254 shots on goal. Gallagher attributes a lot of his success to Therrien; "I think it’s been really good for me," Gallagher stated. "Coming up as a young guy, I think (Therrien) did it great with me and (Alex) Galchenyuk there to start. He made us earn every opportunity." Next season, Gallagher will look to build upon three solid years and be one of the team leaders in his age-23 year.

Hockey Hall of Famer Guy Lafleur would choose Brendan Gallagher to be the next captain of the Montreal Canadiens.

"I like the way he plays," Lafleur said Wednesday. "He shows up every night and gives 100 percent. I think he's a great influence on his teammates. A captain shouldn't be chosen on the amount of goals he's going to score. That guy (Gallagher) really impressed me every night I saw him play. He's aggressive, he wants to win. He gets some bad shots from opponents, he takes a lot of hits and there's not too many guys on the team that work like he does." Lefleur serves as an ambassador for the Canadiens and he's never been shy about expressing his opinion of the team.

Brendan Gallagher earned an assist in Game 6's 4-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

His second assist of the playoffs on a goal by Max Pacioretty got Montreal on the board, but Tampa Bay advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals. Gallagher was superb throughout the series, with two goals and three points in six matches. He was a thorn in the side of the Lightning and was constantly buzzing around the net of Ben Bishop. If he can start scoring with more consistency then he could become a very good fantasy consideration.

Montreal is feeling confident after avoiding elimination with a 6-2 victory in Game 4 on Thursday.

"We believe in each other and we want to earn 60 more minutes right now," said Gallagher. "Character is something important with this team. Tonight, we had our leaders step up but the followers contributed as well. There were no passengers tonight." The Canadiens are still trailing Tampa Bay 3-1 in the second round series. It's not terribly uncommon for a team to claim Game 4 when facing elimination, but overcoming a 3-0 deficit is a huge task. That being said, the Canadiens are a talented enough team to pull it off.
May 8 - 10:54 AM

Brendan Gallagher is now the proud owner of a two-game goal-scoring streak, and also a 6-2 Game Four victory over Tampa Bay on Thursday night.

The goal may have made it 5-0 mid way through the game, but it came off a strong hustle to the puck just 15 seconds after Jeff Petry had scored. There are a lot of things a player can and cannot control, effort level clearly falls in only one of those two camps. Gallagher now has three goals and four points through 10 games this postseason.
May 7 - 11:31 PM

Brendan Gallagher turned 23 years of age Wednesday.

He scored his second goal of the playoffs to tie the game at 1-1 at the 10:03 mark of the third period. However, Tampa Bay scored the game winner with just 1.1 seconds left in regulation to spoil the party and put Montreal on the brink of elimination. "Since I've been a Montreal Canadien, one thing we've always done is find ways to win games," Gallagher said. "Just seems like right now we're finding ways to lose games. We're playing good hockey, we're just coming out on the wrong side of things." He has three points in nine games during the postseason.
May 7 - 9:38 AM

Montreal forward Brendan Gallagher scored the Canadiens' only goal in their 2-1 loss to the Lightning in Tampa Bay Wednesday night.

Gallagher tied the game 1-1 with his second goal of the postseason at 10:03 of the third period. But the Canadiens lost on a Tyler Johnson goal with 1.1 seconds left in regulation and now trail the Lightning 3-0 in the Eastern Conference Second Round playoff series. The Canadiens will try to extend the best-of-seven series Thursday but they've lost eight regular-season and postseason games in a row to Tampa Bay and the prospects do not look good for Gallagher and company.
May 6 - 10:51 PM

Brendan Gallagher scored the game-winning in Montreal's 2-0 series clinching win against Ottawa.

The Canadiens were finally able to put the Senators away on their third attempt. Gallagher's goal was scored in impressive fashion as he batted the puck in, after a Greg Pateryn point shot hit him, bounced up into the air. The 22-year-old didn't produce much throughout the series (one goal and one assist in six games), but his non-stop hustle was on display throughout the series. Max Pacioretty added an empty-netter to finish things off for the Canadiens. Montreal will now face the winner of the Detroit-Tampa Bay series, which Detroit currently leads three games to two.
Apr 26 - 9:20 PM

Although the Canadiens have often used Tomas Plekanec and David Desharnais interchangably on their top two lines, Brendan Gallagher and Max Paciorrety have consistently skated together until recently.

The Habs split Gallagher and Pacioretty up recently and now ice the following units: Pacioretty, Desharnais and P.A. Parenteau as the top line with Plekanec between Gallagher and Alex Galchenyuk on the second unit. It seems to be working so adjust your lineup accordingly.
Mar 28 - 11:19 AM

Brendan Gallagher posted his 23rd goal of 2014-15 in Thursday's 5-2 loss to Winnipeg.

He scored an unassisted marker in the third period to make it 4-2, but Adam Lowry put the Jets back up by three shortly afterward. Gallagher has scored a goal in four straight games.
Mar 27 - 10:06 AM

Brendan Gallagher scored a goal for his third game in a row during Tuesday night's 3-2 loss to Nashville.

Gallagher's goal was a pretty one as he caught Pekka Rinne out of position off an uncharacteristic rebound into the high slot. Gallagher now has 22 goals and 44 points in 74 games this season.
Mar 25 - 3:33 AM

Brendan Gallagher hit the 20-goal mark for the first time in his NHL career on Thursday.

He scored Montreal's second goal in a 4-0 win over Carolina. Gallagher's third season has been his best so far with a personal high 42 points in 72 games.
Mar 20 - 9:27 AM

Brendan Gallagher scored a goal in Saturday's 2-0 win over Arizona.

There wasn't much scoring in this game, but Gallagher did manage to chip in an empty net goal to put the final nail in the Coyotes' coffin on Saturday. The 22-year-old has now tied his career-high in goals with 19 and he is just two points away from setting a new career best in that category. He currently has 40 points in 66 games.
