Although the Canadiens have often used Tomas Plekanec and David Desharnais interchangably on their top two lines, Brendan Gallagher and Max Paciorrety have consistently skated together until recently.
The Habs split Gallagher and Pacioretty up recently and now ice the following units: Pacioretty, Desharnais and P.A. Parenteau as the top line with Plekanec between Gallagher and Alex Galchenyuk on the second unit. It seems to be working so adjust your lineup accordingly. Mar 28 - 11:19 AM

He scored an unassisted marker in the third period to make it 4-2, but Adam Lowry put the Jets back up by three shortly afterward. Gallagher has scored a goal in four straight games.

The Habs were on the verge of picking up at least a point on the road when Hawks' forward Brandon Saad score the game-winning goal with 27 seconds remaining in the game. Gallagher now has seven goals and 15 points in 28 games this season. Sergei Gonchar and P.K. Subban picked up the other goals for Montreal.

Earlier in the day, it was announced that Gallagher had signed a six-year extension with the Habs worth $22.5 million. The 22-year-old forward has six goals and 13 points in 25 games this season. He is currently on pace to reach the 20-goal mark for the first time in his NHL career.

According to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports, the average salary is 3.75 million per season. Gallagher isn't a big body, but he certainly plays big. He is an important piece of Montreal's forward group. The 22-year-old was scheduled to become an restricted free-agent at season's end. He has five goals and 12 points in 24 games this season.
