He tied the game at 2-2 during the second period and then Brian Flynn gave the Canadiens the lead going into the third. However, the Penguins rallied and claimed the victory. Brendan Gallagher stayed hot on Thursday night, scoring his fifth goal of the season in Montreal's 4-3 loss to Edmonton.

Brendan Gallagher has picked up a point in five of his last six games.

Gallagher scored a power-play goal in the second period and assisted on Tomas Plekanec’s third-period tally. The 23-year-old has five points so far this season and could be primed for his finest season yet: think close to 30 goals and 60 points. Brian Flynn and Jeff Petry got the other goals.
Oct 17 - 11:00 PM

Brendan Gallagher potted a goal for the Canadiens, who fell 5-4 to the Senators in their preseason final Saturday night.

Gallagher had five shots on goal as well. It would not be surprising to see him reach 30 goals this season; he gets a ton of shots on goal and is always around the puck. Alex Galchenyuk, Max Pacioretty and Dale Weise picked up the other goals. Nathan Beaulieu assisted three times. Dustin Tokarski was roughed up for five goals, making only 10 saves.

Brendan Gallagher says he's looking forward to suiting up with new teammates Zack Kassian and Alexander Semin.

The Canadiens acquired Kassian in an off-season trade with Vancouver, while Semin was signed as an unrestricted free-agent. "Zack Kassian, I think he’s a big body," Gallagher said. "He’s a skilled guy for his size, he can play with anyone up and down the lineup." As for Semin, Gallagher believes that he can still be a dangerous player. "Semin is a guy that other teams have to be aware of," Gallagher added. "He’s dangerous every time he’s on the ice. He doesn’t need much time and space to put the puck in the back of the net."
Aug 22 - 8:33 AM

Brendan Gallagher has been enjoying his time playing for Canadiens head coach Michel Therrien.

Gallagher has played all three seasons under Therrien and enjoyed his most successful season last year, scoring 24 goals and 47 points while playing in all 82 games. He also recorded career bests with a plus 18 rating and 254 shots on goal. Gallagher attributes a lot of his success to Therrien; "I think it’s been really good for me," Gallagher stated. "Coming up as a young guy, I think (Therrien) did it great with me and (Alex) Galchenyuk there to start. He made us earn every opportunity." Next season, Gallagher will look to build upon three solid years and be one of the team leaders in his age-23 year.
Aug 1 - 10:17 PM

Hockey Hall of Famer Guy Lafleur would choose Brendan Gallagher to be the next captain of the Montreal Canadiens.

"I like the way he plays," Lafleur said Wednesday. "He shows up every night and gives 100 percent. I think he's a great influence on his teammates. A captain shouldn't be chosen on the amount of goals he's going to score. That guy (Gallagher) really impressed me every night I saw him play. He's aggressive, he wants to win. He gets some bad shots from opponents, he takes a lot of hits and there's not too many guys on the team that work like he does." Lefleur serves as an ambassador for the Canadiens and he's never been shy about expressing his opinion of the team.

Brendan Gallagher earned an assist in Game 6's 4-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

His second assist of the playoffs on a goal by Max Pacioretty got Montreal on the board, but Tampa Bay advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals. Gallagher was superb throughout the series, with two goals and three points in six matches. He was a thorn in the side of the Lightning and was constantly buzzing around the net of Ben Bishop. If he can start scoring with more consistency then he could become a very good fantasy consideration.
May 13 - 12:55 PM

Montreal is feeling confident after avoiding elimination with a 6-2 victory in Game 4 on Thursday.

"We believe in each other and we want to earn 60 more minutes right now," said Gallagher. "Character is something important with this team. Tonight, we had our leaders step up but the followers contributed as well. There were no passengers tonight." The Canadiens are still trailing Tampa Bay 3-1 in the second round series. It's not terribly uncommon for a team to claim Game 4 when facing elimination, but overcoming a 3-0 deficit is a huge task. That being said, the Canadiens are a talented enough team to pull it off.
May 8 - 10:54 AM

Brendan Gallagher is now the proud owner of a two-game goal-scoring streak, and also a 6-2 Game Four victory over Tampa Bay on Thursday night.

The goal may have made it 5-0 mid way through the game, but it came off a strong hustle to the puck just 15 seconds after Jeff Petry had scored. There are a lot of things a player can and cannot control, effort level clearly falls in only one of those two camps. Gallagher now has three goals and four points through 10 games this postseason.
