Radko Gudas has been suspended for six games for his high boarding hit on Boston's Austin Czarnik.
Gudas served a three-game suspension in 2015-16 and dealt a questionable hit on Jimmy Vesey as well earlier in the preseason, so his history worked against him. He had 14 points and 116 penalty minutes in 76 contests last season. He'll be eligible to play on Oct. 25th against Buffalo. Oct 10 - 5:58 PM

Radko Gudas is likely to get a five game suspension for his high and late hit on the Bruins Austin Czarnik.

Czarnik did not return to the game. Gudas had a three game suspension last season and laid a questionable hit on Jimmy Vesey earlier in the week. The tough Gudas is worth a pickup in pools that use penalty minutes as a category and while he is capable of scoring an occasional goal, don't draft him for his offense.

Radko Gudas' phone call with the Department of Player Safety is set for Monday.

Gudas' suspension will fall within one and five games, and it's increasingly likely it'll range closer to the higher end of the spectrum. The Flyers will enter the season with just 21 available roster spots, down from the usual 23 due to Gudas' (impending) suspension and Brayden Schenn's ban.
Oct 9 - 8:52 PM

After waiving his right to an in-person hearing, Radko Gudas will have a phone hearing about his late hit on Austin Czarnik over the weekend.

Gudas will see a suspension within five games to begin the regular season, certainly not the kind of start he nor the Flyers were looking for. Gudas signed a new deal worth $13.4M over the next four seasons this summer.

A report indicates that the NHL may look at a questionable hit by Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Radko Gudas.

The rough blueliner received a minor boarding penalty for a check on Austin Czarnik, but it might not end at that. Gudas is no stranger to discipline calls, so keep an eye out for potential action from the NHL.
Oct 8 - 11:27 PM

Radko Gudas will not be disciplined further for his hit from behind on New York's Jimmy Vesey.

The league's department of player safety decided that a hearing wasn't necessary after watching video of the play. According to a statement from the department to "Gudas does not have time to adjust or avoid the hit once Vesey turns." Vesey wasn't hurt on the play, which probably factored into the decision as well.
Oct 4 - 2:24 PM

Radko Gudas ended up with 22 penalty minutes, including a game misconduct for boarding, on Monday.

That boarding penalty might lead to a suspension that lingers into the regular season. Gudas had 14 points and 116 penalty minutes in 76 contests in 2015-16. If he does end up being unavailable for the opener, that might lead to Samuel Morin making the squad.

Radko Gudas (wrist) is getting close to 100 percent.

At this point Gudas is able to shoot the puck, but he hasn't gotten into a preseason game yet. "I can’t say it’s really 100 percent, but it’s getting there soon," Gudas said. "There’s a lot of time for me to get in top, game-like shape." He's confident he'll be fine for the start of the regular season.
Sep 30 - 11:40 AM

Radko Gudas (wrist) is hoping to participate in a few preseason games.

Right now Gudas isn't cleared to shoot, but that might change by next week. In the meantime he can still work on his puckhandling and passing.
Sep 22 - 6:06 PM

Radko Gudas' upper-body injury is a wrist problem.

Gudas isn't able to shoot due to the pain, but he thinks he'll be fine for the season opener. As previously reported, he did pull out of the World Cup as a result of the injury. "It's a little disappointing because I had been looking forward to that all summer," said Gudas, "but in the end, I have to be 100 percent for the Flyers' season. My main focus is the Flyers' season."
Sep 12 - 11:35 PM

Radko Gudas (upper body) isn't expected to miss any regular season games, according to Flyers GM Ron Hextall.

Gudas pulled out of the World Cup on Saturday, but the injury shouldn't cost him any regular season time. The 26-year-old had five goals, 14 points and 116 penalty minutes in 76 games last season. He signed a four-year, $13.4 million extension with the Flyers this off-season.
Sep 4 - 6:34 PM

Czech defenseman Radko Gudas has pulled himself out of the World Cup.

Gudas sustained an upper-body injury while training and he'll on a week-to-week basis, according to Flyers GM Ron Hextall. The 26-year-old signed a four-year, $13.4 million extension with Philadelphia earlier this summer.
Sep 3 - 5:46 PM

The Philadelphia Flyers have inked Radko Gudas to a four-year, $13.4 million deal.

That works out to an annual cap hit of $3.35 million, which is a big leap to the just under $1 million he was previously earning. Gudas had five goals, 14 points, and 116 penalty minutes in 76 games last season. He would have been a restricted free agent, so it's not surprising that he's sticking with the team, but this deal keeps him with the Flyers through the rest of his 20s as he'll turn 30 on June 5, 2020, which is the same summer this contract will expire.
Jun 24 - 11:10 AM

Philadelphia is interested in re-signing Radko Gudas to a long-term deal.

Gudas has just completed his three-year, $2,975,000 contract. He finished the 2015-16 campaign with five goals, 14 points, and 116 penalty minutes in 76 contests. He was also averaging 19:50 minutes per game. He'll be a restricted free agent, so he'll almost certainly stick with the Flyers for at least the 2016-17 campaign, but he'll still likely get a significant raise.
Apr 27 - 6:15 PM

Radko Gudas landed 10 hits in Sunday's 1-0 loss to the Capitals in Game 6.

Gudas finished the game with a minus-1 rating and three blocked shots in 20:18 of ice time. Unfortunately for the Flyers, the loss means that they're now eliminated from the 2016 postseason. Philadelphia made the series interesting by winning Games 4 and 5, but they only managed to score five goals in six games.
