Brandon Pirri did not get a qualifying offer from the Ducks.
That means he can become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Pirri notched three goals and five points in nine outings with the Ducks after he was acquired from Florida. He had 22 goals in 49 games with the Panthers in 2014-15, which could attract some interest for him on the open market. Jun 27 - 6:25 PM

Brandon Pirri (upper body) has been skating and feels he is getting closer to being ready to return.

"You got to listen to the body with everything," said Pirri, who hasn't played since Apr. 1. "You don't want to go out there too soon because then you're doing a disservice to the team and yourself. It's frustrating but the trainers are doing a good job getting me back as soon as possible. Things are moving in the right direction for sure." He isn't expected to play in Game 6 against Nashville on Monday night, as he isn't with the team on the road. Pirri probably won't ready until Round 2, so the Ducks will have to finish off the Predators for him to return this postseason.

Mar 28 - 11:52 PM

Brandon Pirri scored his first points for the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday.

It was a three point effort for the former Panther as he played in front of family and friends in his hometown of Toronto. "It was nice to show well in front of friends and family," said Pirri, who had 25 people at the game. "It’s good and we go to keep that going when we go to Ottawa (on Saturday). It was important. Just getting a goal takes a lot of weight off your back. At the same time, I know I got to lot to give and I don’t think I’ve shown that yet. There’s a confidence factor. It’s going up but at the same time I’ve got to believe in myself that I can hold the puck a little longer, do a little more work on the boards." Pirri had 22 goals last season in just 49 games so his added scoring will not hurt the Ducks come playoff time.
Mar 26 - 4:35 AM

Brandon Pirri's goal and two assists weren't enough for the Ducks on Thursday night, as they fell 5-4 to the Maple Leafs in overtime.

Pirri had gone six games without a point, but his three points on Thursday night give him 13 goals and 30 points in 58 games this season.
Mar 24 - 10:51 PM

Brandon Pirri will play with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry on Tuesday night.

"He's an offensive guy," coach Bruce Boudreau said of Pirri. "I just want to see him complement them. It's tough playing with star players. It takes a certain kind of mentality. We haven't tried Brandon there but we're going to try him and see how he fits in that." Pirri hasn't picked up a point in his first three games with the Ducks.
Mar 22 - 5:12 PM

Brandon Pirri (ankle) made his return on Wednesday and played alongside Ryan Getzlaf and David Perron.

Pirri was regarded as a game-time decision. He ended up getting two shots on goal, but no points. "Shoot-first mentality," Pirri said. "Those two are really talented and obviously have had a lot of success. ... Just get open because they both can find you. If you’re not expecting it, that’s when the puck’s coming to you. Just always be ready to shoot." Playing with Getzlaf and Perron is a great opportunity for Pirri, so we'll have to see if it continues.
Mar 17 - 10:25 AM

Brandon Pirri (ankle) is expected to be taken off of the injured reserve list ahead of Wednesday's game.

Despite that, Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau wasn't ready to commit to using Pirri in the contest. For what it's worth, Pirri practiced alongside Ryan Getzlaf and David Perron, so if he does play on Wednesday, it will likely be in a favorable position.
Mar 16 - 6:01 PM

Brandon Pirri (ankle) will be evaluated by the Anaheim Ducks medical staff before being allowed to skate.

The 24-year-old will be an RFA with arbitration rights this off-season and carries a measly $925K cap hit.
