Brandon Pirri lined up as a winger in Wednesday's win over Carolina.

He played alongside Jonathan Huberdeau and Nick Bjugstad in the match and the trio combined for the only goal of the game in a 1-0 victory. Bjugstad scored the winner and assists went to Pirri and Huberdeau. "I loved [the newly formed line] in the first period; I didn't like it much the second and third because there were too many chances against them and they weren't skating the same," coach Gerard Gallant said. It's unclear if the trio will remain together for Friday's match versus Ottawa. Pirri has four points in six games this season.

Brandon Pirri is ready to return from a concussion on Monday night.

He's been taken off injured reserve and is projected to play between Jussi Jokinen and Jimmy Hayes against Minnesota. Pirri has three goals in four games this year, but he hasn't played since Oct. 30 so expect some rust once his adrenaline wears off.
Nov 24 - 6:07 PM

Brandon Pirri (concussion) may be activated from injured reserve for Monday's game against Minnesota.

Rocco Grimaldi was sent to the minors on Sunday, which has led to speculation regarding Pirri's return. He has been sidelined since Oct. 30 because of a concussion.
Nov 24 - 11:03 AM

Brandon Pirri continues to progress in his recovery from a concucsion.

He took Friday morning's skate without incident and could be ready to resume practising with his teammates some time next week.
Nov 15 - 10:09 AM

Brandon Pirri (concussion) resumed skating on Wednesday.

The Panthers had an off-ice conditioning session on Wednesday, so Pirri was the only one on the ice. "Good signs, he rode the bike two days in a row and he skated today for 30 minutes," coach Gerard Gallant said. "He'll skate again [Thursday] for 30 minutes. Everything is going in the right direction." Gallant hopes that Pirri will be able to travel with the team on their upcoming road trip.

Brandon Pirri (concussion) says he is feeling better.

Pirri was placed on the injured list on October 30th after he sustained a concussion in a game against Arizona. Pirri said he feels better and has amped up his cardio workouts.
Nov 9 - 9:35 AM

Brandon Pirri was placed on the injured list retroactive to October 30th.

Pirri sustained a concussion in the latter part of Thursday's 2-1 win over Arizona after being hit by Shane Doan. Too bad, as he was playing the very best hockey of his NHL career as of late. Pirri will miss at least the Panthers' next two games so place him on reserve without delay.
Nov 1 - 10:25 AM

Brandon Pirri has netted a goal in three straight games.

He scored a power-play goal in Thursday's 2-1 win over Arizona. Pirri logged a season-high 15:41 of ice time. He was a healthy scratch for the first four games of the season, but he's been excellent since Dave Bolland got hurt. "He's played great," coach Gerard Gallant said. "He's getting an opportunity to play and he wants to stay in the lineup, and scoring again, so he's a big player for us. He hit a goal post, plus a goal and had three or four other shots."
Oct 31 - 10:17 AM

Brandon Pirri has stepped up for the Panthers during Dave Bolland's absence and it may be enough to keep him in the lineup.

He's been playing on the third line with Tomas Fleischmann and Jussi Jokinen. Pirri has two goals in three outings to go along with 10 shots. He could be moved to the wing when Bolland is able to return.
Oct 29 - 10:57 AM

Brandon Pirri notched the only goal for the Panthers in their 2-1 overtime loss to the Coyotes on Saturday night.

Pirri now has two goals, the only ones of the year, in his last two games. The 23-year-old is trying to carve out a regular role in Florida, so he’s not playable yet in fantasy leagues. Tomas Fleischmann and Jussi Jokinen set up the goal. Nick Bjugstad led the team with five shots on goal.
Oct 26 - 12:10 AM

Brandon Pirri made his season debut against the Washington Capitals on Saturday.

Pirri was inserted into the lineup because of an injury to Dave Bolland. Pirri played 13:00 minutes in the game and had three shots on goal. "I thought he was good," said head coach Gerrard Gallant of Pirri. "He’s a skill player and put two or three shots up and had a chance." He has no fantasy value going forward.
Oct 19 - 11:48 AM

With Dave Bolland out, Brandon Pirri looks to get in the Florida Panthers' lineup against the Washington Capitals on Saturday.

Pirri actually enjoyed some solid moments with Florida (14 points in 21 games), but not to the extent to be particularly fantasy-relevant or even good enough to be an everyday player for the Panthers.
Oct 18 - 6:42 PM

Look for Brandon Pirri to make his season debut Saturday night against Washington.

He had been a healthy scratch for the Panthers' first four games but should draw back in even if Dave Bolland, who suffered a lower-body injury Friday night, will be able to suit up. Pirri is not really a fantasy factor as he will not play on one of the Cats' top lines nor get significant power-play ice time.
Oct 18 - 10:09 AM

Brandon Pirri is waiting for a chance to help the Panthers and thinks he could improve the power play.

"The power play is one of my strengths, but the coach has got to what he thinks is right," said Pirri. "It's my patience and you got to have some confidence in yourself, don't turn the puck over and shoot the puck to the net." He skated between Tomas Fleischmann and Brad Boyes at practice Sunday because Dave Bolland and Shawn Thornton had the day off. Pirri has been a healthy scratch in both of Florida's games to begin the 2014-15 campaign.
