Brandon Pirri scored his first goal since Oct. 30 on Monday night.
A concussion sidelined him after that, which kept him out of 10 games. Pirri had three goals in four games prior to getting hurt, but he hasn't been the same since. Ice time and sitting on occasion as a healthy scratch could also be contributors to his cold streak. Pirri has registered four goals and one assist in 20 appearances with the Panthers. Brandon Pirri doesn't mind battling for his spot in the lineup.

He was scratched last Saturday against Pittsburgh, along with Jimmy Hayes, but both of them were back in the fold for Monday's rematch with the Penguins. Brad Boyes and Tomas Fleischmann were scratched on that night. "There is definite in-house competition, which makes everyone better," Pirri said. "For me, I have to produce when I have the opportunity to be in the lineup. I haven't cashed in recently. I just have to do it." He doesn't have a point in his past 10 appearances.

Brandon Pirri lined up as a winger in Wednesday's win over Carolina.

He played alongside Jonathan Huberdeau and Nick Bjugstad in the match and the trio combined for the only goal of the game in a 1-0 victory. Bjugstad scored the winner and assists went to Pirri and Huberdeau. "I loved [the newly formed line] in the first period; I didn't like it much the second and third because there were too many chances against them and they weren't skating the same," coach Gerard Gallant said. It's unclear if the trio will remain together for Friday's match versus Ottawa. Pirri has four points in six games this season.

Everything is going in the right direction." Gallant hopes that Pirri will be able to travel with the team on their upcoming road trip.

Brandon Pirri was placed on the injured list retroactive to October 30th.

Pirri sustained a concussion in the latter part of Thursday's 2-1 win over Arizona after being hit by Shane Doan. Too bad, as he was playing the very best hockey of his NHL career as of late. Pirri will miss at least the Panthers' next two games so place him on reserve without delay.

Brandon Pirri has netted a goal in three straight games.

He scored a power-play goal in Thursday's 2-1 win over Arizona. Pirri logged a season-high 15:41 of ice time. He was a healthy scratch for the first four games of the season, but he's been excellent since Dave Bolland got hurt. "He's played great," coach Gerard Gallant said. "He's getting an opportunity to play and he wants to stay in the lineup, and scoring again, so he's a big player for us. He hit a goal post, plus a goal and had three or four other shots."
