Brandon Pirri got back into the lineup on Thursday against Detroit.
Pirri returned with a bang, as he picked up a goal and an assist in Florida's 6-3 victory. He had been a healthy scratch for the previous four games after going on a six-game pointless skid. Feb 5 - 8:08 AM

Brandon Pirri will sit out his fourth straight game on Tuesday night when Florida takes on Washington.

Per Katie Brown, Coach Gerard Galant noted that he didn't want to change the lineup because the Panthers have been winning. Fair enough, but Coach also didn't say Pirri would return whenever the Panthers lose again. It's an odd situation as Pirri has 21 points in 46 games thus far.

Florida isn't shopping Brandon Pirri, but they are listening to offers.

The slumping forward has been scratched for the last three games, so the Panthers have been getting calls from other teams. Pirri has nine goals and 21 points in 46 games this year after he posted 22 markers in 49 matches in 2014-15.

Brandon Pirri will be scratched for a third straight game as his Panthers take on the Maple Leafs on Tuesday night.

To be fair, the Panthers have out-scored their opponents 9-2 while he's been out. And those opponents were Chicago and Tampa Bay. Still, speculation is growing that his time in southern Florida could be coming to an end. Pirri has nine goals and 21 points in 46 games thus far.

Brandon Pirri will be scratched once again, this time Saturday night against Tampa Bay.

After scoring 22 goals and 24 points in 49 games last season, much was expected of Pirri coming into this season. But that's not to say his nine goals and 21 points in 46 games is all that bad either. Depending on where he's moved to, if he's moved at all, a nice spike in his current 8.7 shooting percentage could be around the corner.

Brandon Pirri was in fact a healthy scratch Friday night against Chicago.

Trade rumours involving Pirri have been strong the last 36 hours. Of course, Pirri hasn't increased his trade value much as of late as he has not scored a goal in the Panthers' last six games and has only nine on the season after scoring 22 in 2014-15. Stay tuned for further updates.
Jan 23 - 9:53 AM

Based on the Panthers' Friday morning skate, it looks like Brandon Pirri will be a healthy scratch, but there might be more to it than that.

Though Panthers coach Gerard Gallant denied it, this could be a case of a team holding back a player that they intend to trade in the near future. Pirri has attracted interest from Metropolitan and Central Division clubs, including the Winnipeg Jets specifically. The 24-year-old has nine goals and 21 points in 46 contests in 2015-16. The decision to scratch Pirri could just be an attempt to spark him, but this situation is worth keeping an eye on.
Jan 22 - 11:50 AM

Brandon Pirri extended his points streak to five games with a goal and two assists in Thursday night's win against New Jersey.

If you have moves to spare, you might as well add the 24-year-old to your roster to ride him while he's hot. Pirri certainly does have fantasy potential and he's off to his best start yet, but it's not a good bet to expect him to produce this way consistently yet.

Brandon Pirri scored his fifth goal in Tuesday's 3-1 win over St. Louis.

He was the recipient of a great pass from Aleksander Barkov and he finished the play beautifully when he deked out Blues goaltender Jake Allen. Pirri has looked good on Florida's top line with Barkov and Jaromir Jagr. He has two goals and two assists in his last five outings.

Brandon Pirri is an Islander killer.

He has registered a point in all four of his career games against the Isles. The Panthers next play the Islanders on Tuesday December 15th. You may want to insert Pirri in your lineup that night.

Brandon Pirri scored in Florida's 3-2 shootout win over the New York Islanders.

Pirri also added a goal during the shootout. The goalies usually have an advantage on shootout attempts, but that didn't appear to be the case tonight. The Panthers went five-for-five in the shootout, while the Islanders went four-for-five. Vincent Trocheck, Nick Bjugstad, Jonathan Huberdeau and Aleksander Barkov also scored on their attempts. Pirri has four goals and 10 points in 22 games.

Brandon Pirri scored on a penalty shot and he got the game-deciding goal in the shootout in a 5-4 win against Tampa Bay on Saturday.

He is the first player in NHL history to accomplish that feat. "Pirri was a dangerous player and has had his best games of the season in the last two," Panthers coach Gerard Gallant said after the match. He has three goals and seven points in 17 games this season.

Brandon Pirri hammered home his second goal, on the power play, of the season in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Sharks.

Much was expected of Pirri coming into the season after scoring 22 last year, but so far is shooting just 6.3%. Well below the 15.4% from a season ago. His true talent likely lies somewhere in the middle, but we'd wait it out until he gets hot.

Brandon Pirri was benched for the third period in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Dallas Stars.

"In the second period there were some turnovers and I felt more comfortable going with three lines. It wasn't just Pirri," coach Gerard Gallant said. "I want them to play more responsibly defensively. I'm not a guy who likes to shorten his bench but the other night I felt, their play wasn't good enough defensively." Pirri logged a season-low 11:32 of ice time in the match.
