Dalton Prout has been a force physically for the Columbus Blue Jackets.
That was on display Thursday when he fought Chris Stewart of the Ducks and apparently broke his jaw. Prout is on the bubble as far as Columbus defensemen are concerned and the return to action of David Savard just pushes him down the depth charts. Feb 13 - 9:08 AM

Dalton Prout scored his first goal in 104 games during Saturday's 3-2 loss to Boston.

It was Prout's first tally since March 15th, 2014 against Minnesota. Quite the spread for the rugged defender. He now has four career goals and 24 career points in 177 games.

Dalton Prout will miss his fourth straight, joining healthy scratch Fedor Tyutin in the press box when Columbus visits Toronto Wednesday night.

Prout was drafted in 2010 in the sixth round, 154th overall by Columbus in 2010 and has dressed in 173 games for the Blue Jackets (3-20-23). Fedor Tyutin will sit out for the first time since Halloween. The 18 minute a night rearguard is replaced by Cody Golubef.

Dalton Prout and Cody Goloubef will be scratched against the Islanders on Tuesday night.

While Goloubef hasn't been productive through his 18 games this season, Prout has at least performed well as a plug. He's recorded 43 PIMs and 60 hits through 28 games, however this is his fourth straight game on the pine.
Jan 12 - 6:15 PM

Dalton Prout, Cody Goloubef, and Kevin Connauton will each be scratched from Saturday's match with Carolina.

Unfortunately there isn't much fantasy value between Goloubef and Connauton who have barely impacted the stat sheet. Prout however has at least posted an impressive 43 PIMs and 60 hits through 28 games.

Dalton Prout and Justin Falk will both be scratched from Friday's match with Carolina.

While Falk has yet to make an impact on the stat sheet through 11 games, Prout has at least produced a modicum of fantasy production through 28 games thus far. He's posted an impressive 60 hits and 43 PIMs, which makes for a nice plug in pools that reward him.
Jan 8 - 6:33 PM

Dalton Prout will tag in for Kevin Connauton on Tuesday night against Dallas.

Neither boast much fantasy value, but Prout does have 21 PIMs and 38 hits over 19 games this season. Suggesting he's a nice plug if you need such stats in a pinch.

After sitting out the past three games, Dalton Prout will pair with Fedor Tyutin in Saturday's match with Philadelphia.

Through 16 games this season Prout has but one point, 21 PIMs, and 30 hits. Which unfortunately does not make for much of a fantasy asset.

Dalton Prout and Michael Chaput will each be scratched for Tuesday's match with Montreal.

This will be Prout's third straight game as a healthy scratch. Chaput meanwhile has but six points in 50 career NHL games, has put up a respectable 10 points in 19 games for AHL Springfield this season.

Dalton Prout will be scratched for Saturday's match with Pittsburgh.

This will be Prout's second straight game in the stands, which may be more about getting Justin Falk some work than sitting Prout. Regardless, it's a bad sign for the rugged defender.

Though healthy, Dalton Prout logged only 8:32 minutes of ice time on Wednesday.

That meant that Columbus had to lean heavily on its five other blueliners. Prout was being punished for collecting two high-sticking penalties, including a double-minor, in the first half of the game. It wouldn't be surprising if he was scratched on Friday.

Dalton Prout will draw back into the Columbus lineup on Sunday.

The move was necessitated by the long-term injuries to fellow defensemen Fedor Tyutin and Cody Goloubef. Prout will contribute penalty minutes and not much else as he has an assist and a minus-11 rating in 14 games this season.
Sun, Nov 22, 2015 07:17:00 AM

Coach Tortorella has elected not to make any lineup changes for Friday's match with Nashville.

This means that Dalton Prout will sit his fourth straight. He has put up a point, six PIMs, nine blocks and 28 hits through his 14 games so far. Which doesn't amount to much of a fantasy asset.
