Prout still has not fully recovered from his back spasms, and has now missed the last two weeks of action. Scott continues to bolster Columbus' burgeoning young core, as he's posted three goals and six points in 16 games for AHL Cleveland - his first year as a pro.

Dalton Prout may be ready to return from his back spasms on Monday against the Avalanche.

Prout has missed the last week of action due to the ailment, but it sounds like the rugged defender is feeling much better. He's seen just eight games this season in all, posting no points with eight PIMs, 10 blocks and 18 hits.
Nov 20 - 12:21 PM

Dalton Prout is still day-to-day with back spasms, and will not play Friday night against the Rangers.

Nov 1 - 7:16 PM

Dalton Prout is projected to draw into the lineup on Saturday night against San Jose.

Oct 15 - 11:09 AM

Dalton Prout will be joined by Scott Harrington and Lukas Sedlak in the press box for Columbus' opener on Thursday night.

Prout is a sneaky play in any league that rewards PIMs and hits, as he's posted consecutive seasons of at least 85 PIMs and 132 hits with 63 games in each of the last two seasons. If your league doesn't value those talents however, then he's about as valuable as Harrington and Sedlak.
Oct 13 - 6:09 PM

Dalton Prout could start the NHL season in the press box as a healthy scratch.

Prout sat out the last two games of the preseason when coach John Tortorella looked to start his regulars. Prout has certainly been passed by Zach Werenski on the blueline and could have a tough time getting into the lineup. He has no fantasy value.
Oct 10 - 7:31 AM

Dalton Prout has signed an extension with Columbus that'll keep him in town a couple more seasons.

Prout's deal will pay him $1.25M in 2017-18, then $1.9M the following season, creating a $1.575 AAV once the extension kicks in. The 26-year-old bruising defender has played all 201 games of his career in Columbus since being drafted 154th in 2010. In that time he's posted 29 points, 234 PIMs, 249 blocks, and 445 hits.

Mar 19 - 5:03 AM

Dalton Prout has been suspended for one game for punching an unsuspecting opponent.

He struck Tampa Bay's Nikita Kucherov on Sunday. Kucherov left the game after taking the hit, but he will be fine to play on Tuesday. Prout won't be eligible to return until Saturday against New Jersey.
Mar 15 - 4:09 PM

Dalton Prout will have a hearing with the league on Tuesday.

He will probably face supplemental discipline for a roughing/sucker punch incident on Sunday against Tampa Bay's Nikita Kucherov.
Mar 14 - 10:48 AM

Dalton Prout should expect to hear from the Department of Player Safety after injuring Nikita Kucherov on a sucker punch Sunday.

The Blue Jackets were down 1-0 about half way through the game when captain Nick Foligno upended Lightning goalie Ben Bishop behind the net. The ensuing scrum included Kucherov as one half of the Foligno sandwich. Prout gave Kucherov's face a fully loaded and gloved punch, and was promptly assessed a minor for roughing and a game misconduct. Milan Lucic was given a game's suspension for a similar act back in January for what it's worth.
