Slava Kozlov has signed with the KHL's CSKA Moscow.

Kozlov is 38 years old and his NHL career is probably over. He surpassed the 70-point barrier in three of his past five seasons, but he had just 26 points in 55 games with Atlanta in 2009-10.

According to Slava Kozlov, "five or six" KHL teams have expressed an interest in his services.

Kozlov will wait until he officially becomes a free agent on July 1st before he does anything. He is still interested in signing with an NHL club, but it looks like he'll head to the KHL if he can't get a contract he likes in North America.

Slava Kozlov blamed the coaching staff for Atlanta's inability to make the playoffs.

Of course, Kozlov may be a bit of a biased source, given that coach John Anderson forced him to spend most of the second half of the season in the press box. "To me, this was the best team in 11 years of the organization," Kozlov said. "This franchise had the best players. Right now, they can not blame [Ilya] Kovalchuk or [Slava] Kozlov. They have to take responsibility, because I think ownership did everything right, signed good players, they have a good goalie, good defense -- but something is missing. I think we are missing from the coaching staff. Looks like they have fun, but unfortunately in the NHL you have to work. You have to prepare for every game." Kozlov will be an unrestricted free agent this summer and he's almost certain to sign elsewhere.

Slava Kozlov might play Friday and will definitely play in the season-finale on Saturday.

Kozlov spent 26 of Atlanta's last 30 games in the press box. He's scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season and he's almost garuanteed to try and seek employment elsewhere. He's just a season removed from scoring 76 points in 82 games, but he'll turn 38 in May.

Slava Kozlov will be a healthy scratch on Monday.

The fact that Kozlov's being listed as a healthy scratch now probably means that he's over his face injury. Not that it matters from a fantasy perspective as the Thrashers have barely used him even when he's healthy.

Slava Kozlov (face) skated on Thursday but will not play against the Maple Leafs.

Kozlov was struck in the face with a puck on Saturday during practice. Look for him to return at the beginning of next week.

Slava Kozlov (face) will be sidelined for four or five more days, according to coach John Anderson.

Kozlov was struck in the face with the puck on Saturday, but tests on his face came back negative.

Slava Kozlov couldn't play on Tuesday due to a head injury.

Kozlov was struck in the face by a puck during Saturday's practice. A CT scan was negative, but he didn't participate in the team's pre-game skate. Since he played on January 21st, Kozlov has spent the vast majority of Atlanta's game in the press box.

Slava Kozlov was a healthy scratch on Thursday.

Kozlov has only played in four Thrashers games since the begining of February. Kozlov scored 26 goals and 76 points in 82 games last season, but he has no fantasy value at this point.

Slava Kozlov is back on Atlanta's second line with Rich Peverley and Maxim Afinogenov.

Kozlov takes over for Evander Kane, who's out the next three weeks with a fractured left foot. Kozlov has eight goals and 24 points in 52 games this season.

Slava Kozlov was a healthy scratch on Thursday.

Kozlov has spent Atlanta's last five games in the press box. Atlanta failed to trade Kozlov before the deadline, which kills any chance of him redeeming himself this season.
Fri, Mar 5, 2010 09:24:00 AM

The Thrashers were unable to trade Slava Kozlov.

Kozlov requested a trade earlier because he was unhappy with his role on the team. "We had small interest early in the day and as the day went on that weeded," GM Don Waddell said to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. With Atlanta adding Clarke MacArthur and Evgeny Artyukhin at the deadline, playing time will be even harder to come by for Kozlov. He shouldn't be anywhere near your fantasy roster.
Thu, Mar 4, 2010 08:18:00 AM

Slava Kozlov was once again a healthy scratch.

Kozlov has requested a trade due to his recent lack of playing time and the number of games he's been asked to spend in the press box. As it happens, his request for a trade is probably one of the reasons he didn't play on Tuesday. No point in taking the chance that he'll get injured, thus killing any potential trade Atlanta might be able to work out on Wednesday.
Wed, Mar 3, 2010 07:50:00 AM

Slava Kozlov has told the Atlanta Thrashers that he would like to be traded.

Kozlov has been frustrated over his lack of playing time to the point where he's now willing to waive his no-trade clause. "I don’t know if I’m going to be on this team or another team," Kozlov said. "If we can find a team which I like and which is good for me and my family I will go. If not, I’m going to be here. …With coach not playing me, what can you do? That’s why I feel I could go play for somebody that needs my help. Is so, I’ll waive my no trade clause." GM Don Waddell plans to shop Kozlov around and ultimately a trade would probably be in everyone's best interests. Kozlov has been a disappointment this season, but a change of scenery might be just what he needs.
