Mar 27 - 6:55 PM

Erik Gustafsson has been returned to the minors.

He was a healthy scratch for the Flyers Sunday. Gustafsson will look to work on some things in the AHL, as he is close to being a full-time NHLer. "I get sometimes where I think too much," he said. "There's a lot on the line and you want to play good. If you feel good out there, you hang onto the puck more. A little bit nervous is good, but I just need to go out there and play. You get down into a bad spiral sometimes, and I have five or six bad shifts in a row instead of just forgetting about [a mistake]."

Erik Gustafsson was a healthy scratch Sunday.

He had played in 11 straight games for the Flyers since coming up from the AHL. Over that span, Gustafsson posted two assists, 17 blocks and a minus-5 rating.

Erik Gustafsson played over 17 minutes Saturday afternoon in a 2-1 Philadelphia win over Ottawa.

Gustafsson seems to be over the shin injury he sustained in Wednesday's game against the Capitals. Gustafsson did not record a point in Saturday's contest but was able to block two shots in the win. Gustafsson does have some offensive upside but still cant be counted on in fantasy.
Mar 3 - 9:30 AM

Erik Gustafsson should be back in the Flyer lineup Saturday afternoon against Ottawa.

He seems to be over a shin injury he sustained Wednesday as he was able to fully participate in Friday's practice. If for some reason you need Gustafsson, feel free to activate him.
Mar 2 - 11:03 AM

Erik Gustafsson (lower body) is probable for Saturday's game.

"I will be ready if coach wants me to play, I will be ready to go I think." Gustafsson said. He took part in Friday's practice. He left Wednesday's game due to the ailment.
Mar 1 - 6:07 PM

Feb 27 - 9:27 PM

Erik Gustafsson made his season debut Saturday night against the Montreal Canadiens.

Gustafsson replaced Kurtis Foster and was paired with Nicklas Grossmann for the contest. Gustafsson didn't make the Flyers' opening game roster because of a right foot fracture suffered in December during the lockout and needed time in the AHL to get his timing right. "It was kind of tough there for awhile, but you really can't think about it. I was trying to stay in good shape and look forward. Easier said than done, but that's what you have to do. "Now I'm back, and I'm happy to be back, and I feel I've played pretty well here for the last four or five games for the Phantoms," said Gustafsson.
Feb 17 - 10:28 AM

Feb 16 - 7:08 PM

Although Erik Gustafsson has returned from a foot injury and is now playing in the minors, he's still not up to speed, according to Flyers GM Paul Holmgren.

Holmgren would like to see Gustafsson spend some more time in the AHL to shake off the rust. After that though, it wouldn't be surprising to see Philadelphia promote Gustafsson.
Feb 4 - 2:22 PM

Erik Gustafsson might not have to wait much longer before being summoned from the minors.

Gustafsson didn't make the Flyers' opening game roster because of a foot injury. Now he's healthy and has gotten a few more games under his belt in the minors. He has 15 points and 27 penalty minutes in 28 AHL contests this season. He also was picked for the AHL All-Star Game, but wasn't able to participate because he was still injured at the time.
Feb 4 - 11:29 AM

Erik Gustafsson has a bone bruise in his right foot, so he might not be available for the Flyers when the regular season begins.

With Andrej Meszaros' status in doubt for the start of the campaign and Marc-Andre Bourdon out with a concussion, Gustafsson could have had an easier time at cracking Philadelphia's lineup. However, now he might not get that chance out of training camp. In 24 games with AHL Adirondack, he has accounted for 14 points and 27 penalty minutes.

Erik Gustafsson lit the lamp for Adirondack, but it fell to Albany 3-2 on Saturday night.

The blueliner got into only 30 games with the Flyers last year after dealing with a wrist injury (then surgery) early in the year, he and managed five points. He already has 11 points in 20 games in the AHL now. Sean Couturier also had a helper for his 17th point of the season.
