He received 10:10 of ice time on Thursday in Dallas during his season debut.

The San Jose Sharks waived winger Bracken Kearns on Sunday.

He just signed with San Jose in late-July. He's played five games in his NHL career. It doesn't sound like he'll be much more than a spot starter for San Jose in 2013-14, if that.

Bracken Kearns has agreed to a one-year, two-way deal with the San Jose Sharks.

Kearns had 21 goals and 46 points in 66 games with the AHL Worcester Sharks last season. He's an organizational depth player that might get the occasional stint with San Jose, but he won't play nearly enough to warrant owning in even deep fantasy leagues.

It looks like Bracken Kearns will skate on the San Jose Sharks' fourth line in Tuesday's Game 1.

Kearns and Tim Kennedy both took turns skating in the spot normally held by Adam Burish, who is likely out of the entire second-round series with an upper-body injury. Kearns left Tuesday's morning skate well before Kennedy, which is usually a sign that Kearns will be in the lineup at gametime.

He was the leading scorer among the team's active players at the time of his recall with 30 points, including 13 goals, and 63 penalty minutes in 50 games. Kearns played five games with Florida last season, but he hasn't suited for San Jose yet.

The two-way contract is worth $550,000. The 31-year-old has played in five NHL games, and those came with the Panthers last season. With 22 goals and 30 assists, he had a pretty productive year in the AHL. It's hard to imagine him cracking the Sharks' lineup much next season.
