Brandon Kozon will remain a healthy scratch for the Maple Leafs Wednesday versus the Red Wings.

Kozun hasn't played an NHL game since October 17th and will continue to be sidelined as the Leafs are happy with their fourth line production right now. In five games played for Toronto, Kozun has just a lone assist. Newly called-up Stuart Percy will also be a healthy scratch Wednesday.

Brandon Kozun will remain a scratch on Tuesday night against Calgary.

Toronto comes in tied with Boston for the two Wild Card slots at 31 points, and Florida and the Rangers are hot on their trail with 29 and 28 points respectively. This game represents a great opportunity to create some space, so there's no wonder why Coach Carlyle isn't playing Kozun until he's 100% recovered.

Oct 8 - 9:39 AM

Toronto Maple Leafs' general manager Dave Nonis has been impressed with the play of Brandon Kozun throughout training camp.

"Brandon Kozun has been a guy who, from the first scrimmage, has looked like a guy who wasn't going to go away quietly," said Nonis. "Some players are content having one good scrimmage, one good game. That's enough for them. They feel they've accomplished something. But for him, it just fueled the fire to get another game and another game and another game and have a big impact." Kozun has clearly made a strong impression on the Leafs' decision makers and no one would be surprised if he made the team's final roster. The 24-year-old has never played in an NHL game, but he registered 17 goals and 46 points in the AHL last season.
