The Montreal Canadiens recalled forward Michael Bournival from Hamilton.
Bournival was sent to Hamilton on Wednesday so that he could stay in game-shape. He still hasn't been able to get into Montreal's lineup this season. He is more of an energy player and has no fantasy value. Oct 26 - 7:29 PM

Michael Bournival was sent back to AHL Hamilton on Wednesday.

He played in the minors last week and he scored one goal in two games. Bournival hasn't played in any games with the Canadiens this season after he dressed in 60 contests last year.
Oct 23 - 10:50 AM

Michael Bournival has been demoted to the minors.

However, the move is only temporary. Coach Michel Therrien said that Bournival will play two games for AHL Hamilton this weekend and he will return to the Canadiens on Monday. Bournival has been a healthy scratch for Montreal in four straight games to open the season, so he'll get some playing time in the minors.
Oct 15 - 1:32 PM

With Brandon Prust suspended, it appears that Michael Bournival will return to the Montreal Canadiens' lineup as they face the New York Rangers in Game 4 on Sunday.

Bournival hasn't been very effective in the playoffs, managing just one assist in 11 postseason games. He didn't score a point in the single game he's played in this series, either. It's unlikely that he'll make a big difference, although it must be noted that fresh legs sometimes help.
May 25 - 1:46 PM

Michael Bournival is expected to take Brandon Prust's spot on Montreal's fourth line in Game 4 against the New York Rangers.

Prust will start serving his two-game suspension for interference on Sunday night. Bournival has suited up in 11 playoff games and he's contributed one assist. He hasn't played since Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final.
May 24 - 1:59 PM

The Canadiens will ice the same four lines against the Rangers as they did against Boston in their Game 7 victory.

As a result, Michael Bournival will continue to skate alongside Tomas Plekanec and Thomas Vanek, while Brendan Gallagher and Max Pacioretty will flank David Desharnais. Brian Gionta, Lars Eller and Rene Bourque will line up as the Habs' third unit while Dale Weise, Daniel Briere and Brandon Prust will comprise the fourth unit. The Habs' forward alignment may require re-working when Alex Galchenyuk is able to return to action.
May 17 - 8:53 AM

Michael Bournival will draw back into Montreal's lineup for Game 2 Saturday afternoon.

He was a healthy scratch when Round 2 began against Boston on Thursday. Travis Moen, who took his spot in the lineup, will take his place in the press box. Bournival had an assist in four games versus the Lightning in the opening round.
May 3 - 12:37 PM

Michael Bournival has been summoned from the minors.

He was called up after Lars Eller left Saturday's game due to a lower-body injury. Bournival hasn't played since Feb. 6 when he suffered a concussion

He had been sidelined with a concussion, but was cleared for contact this past Friday. He'll work his way back into game shape with AHL Hamilton. Bournival has six goals and 13 points in 50 contests this season.
Mar 17 - 12:35 PM

Mar 15 - 10:19 AM

Michael Bournival's injury has been confirmed as a concussion.

His return date is now less certain. For now consider Bournival day-to-day. We will track the progress of his recovery through the Olympic break.
Feb 8 - 11:30 AM

Michael Bournival will not play Saturday night against the Hurricanes.

He sustained a facial injury in the Habs' 5-2 loss to the Canucks Thursday and did not make the trip to Carolina with the rest of his teammates. Bournival should be fine once NHL play resumes following the Olympics.
Feb 8 - 11:13 AM

Forward Michael Bournival was back in the Canadiens lineup Sunday after missing Saturday's game with the flu.

Bournival was a minus-1 Sunday as the Canadiens were edged 2-1 by the visiting Winnipeg Jets.
Feb 2 - 6:06 PM

Michael Bournival will not play Saturday afternoon against Tampa as he has the flu.

Christian Thomas will take Bournival's place in the Habs' lineup. It will be Thomas' first regular season game with the Habs. Consider Bournival questionable for Sunday's game against Florida.
Feb 1 - 12:05 PM

Michael Bournival will get back in the lineup Monday against New Jersey.

He was a healthy scratch Saturday night versus Toronto. Bournival will skate on the fourth line with Brandon Prust and Travis Moen. He has six goals and 11 points in 23 games this season.
