Nov 23 - 12:43 PM

Greg McKegg will be back on the fourth line in Sunday's game against the Rangers.

McKegg has just two points with 16 hits through 17 games this season, so he's probably best suited for the waiver wire unfortunately.
Nov 20 - 7:02 PM

Greg McKegg will be out against the Senators on Saturday night.

McKegg has just two points with 16 hits through 17 games this season. He's seeing a shade under 11 minutes of action per night on average, so it's no wonder why he's in the press box tonight.

There's a good chance Greg McKegg will start the season with the Florida Panthers.

This is according to beat reporter George Richards. McKegg played 15 games with the Panthers last season and picked up two goals during that span. He added 10 goals and 23 points during his stint in the AHL. Even if he does crack the team, he won't have any fantasy value.
Oct 8 - 8:34 AM

Greg McKegg has signed a one-year, two-way contract with Florida.

He didn't get a qualifying offer from the Panthers, but the team made it known that they wanted him back. McKegg posted two goals in 15 games with Florida during the 2015-16 season.
Jun 29 - 6:18 PM

Greg McKegg didn't get a qualifying offer from Florida, but the team still wants him back for next season.

Panthers GM Tom Rowe said a contract was offered to McKegg after he impressed coach Gerard Gallant during his 15 appearances with the big club in 2015-16. McKegg can become an unrestricted free agent if he doesn't sign with Florida.
Jun 28 - 10:03 AM

Greg McKegg went unclaimed on waivers.

That frees McKegg up to help the AHL's Portland Pirates in the playoffs. He had 10 goals and 23 points in 47 AHL contests during the regular season. He also appeared in 15 games with the Panthers during the 2015-16 campaign and found the back of the net twice.
Apr 27 - 1:26 PM

Florida has placed Greg McKegg on waivers.

If/when he clears he will join the AHL's Portland Pirates in the Calder Cup Playoffs. Portland is tied with Hershey at 1-1 in their best-of-five first-round series.
Apr 26 - 1:52 PM

Greg McKegg is a healthy scratch for the Panthers in Game 6 on Saturday night.

Quinton Howden will also take a seat in the press box against the Islanders. McKegg has played in one game (two shots on goal), while Howden has sat out in all of them this postseason.
Apr 24 - 7:06 PM

Greg McKegg will tag in for Logan Shaw in Game 3 against the Islanders on Sunday.

Niether forward was much of a contributor to the score sheet during the regular season, unfortunately. McKegg especially, as he only saw just 15 games of action.
Apr 17 - 2:47 PM

Greg McKegg scored the second goal of his career during Tuesday's 4-1 win over Montreal.

Two goals in 14 games isn't half bad. The 23-year-old isn't much of a scoring asset, however so we would leave him on the wire.
Apr 6 - 12:54 AM

Greg McKegg, Shawn Thornton and Alex Petrovic will all be healthy scratches in Monday's game against the Maple Leafs.

Petrovic has two goals, 16 points and a plus-13 rating in 63 games in 2015-16. This will be his third straight game as a healthy scratch. McKegg, who was originally drafted by the Leafs, has played a career-high 13 games in the NHL this year. Thornton is nothing more than a veteran enforcer. There's no fantasy value here.

Apr 4 - 7:37 PM

Greg McKegg scored his first NHL goal in the Panthers loss to the Maple Leafs Tuesday.

McKegg's first NHL goal coincidently came against his former team. The goal was scored by McKegg jamming in a rebound from Teddy Purcell in the third period.
Mar 30 - 11:40 AM

Greg McKegg will tag in for Derek MacKenzie for Tuesday's match with Montreal.

The 23-year-old McKegg has no points in 10 career NHL games. He also has just 60 points over his last 109 AHL games the past two seasons, so he doesn't project to provide much fantasy value.
