Wedgewood was acquired in a trade with the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday. It'll be interesting to see if they decide to send him to the minors or if he'll stay on as Jonathan Quick's backup.
Feb 24 - 12:18 PM

The Los Angeles Kings have placed Scott Wedgewood on waivers.

Los Angeles got Wedgewood from Arizona as part of the Darcy Kuemper trade. It looks like Los Angeles wants to go with Jack Campbell as its new backup though, so Wedgewood will head to the AHL for now if he clears.
Feb 23 - 1:53 PM

The Los Angeles Kings have acquired Scott Wedgewood from the Arizona Coyotes.

It's the second time Wedgewood has been traded this season. He was also moved from New Jersey to Arizona earlier this season. The 25-year-old has a 5-9-4 record with a 3.45 goals-against-average and a .893 save percentage. He'll serve as a backup goaltender to Jonathan Quick in LA, which means he won't have any fantasy value.
Feb 21 - 7:07 PM

Scott Wedgewood didn't sustain a concussion on Tuesday.

Wedgewood had to go through the concussion protocol after he went down and banged the back of his head on the ice. He wasn't able to complete the contest as a result, but the good news is that he wasn't concussed. He did have a headache, but fortunately it seems that was the extent of his problem.
Feb 15 - 3:07 PM

Scott Wedgewood allowed just one goal on 29 shots in Tuesday's game at San Jose before being lifted and placed in the league's mandated concussion protocol.

Wedgewood went down and banged the back of his head on the ice early in the third period thrusting Antti Raanta into action. Tuesday's backup, who is normally the starter, stopped all 12 shots he faced to preserve the victory for Wedgewood. For now, consider Wedgewood day to day. The team is likely to summon a replacement from the minors if he is forced to the injured list.
Feb 14 - 2:21 AM

Scott Wedgewood will be in the crease Tuesday versus San Jose.

Wedgewood will get the second half of Arizona's back-to-back set after Antti Raanta played Monday in a 6-1 win over Chicago. Wedgewood has gone winless in his past four starts (0-3-1) and he allowed six goals on 35 shots to Los Angeles on Feb. 3 in his last outing.
Feb 13 - 4:47 PM

Scott Wedgewood allowed six goals on 35 shots in a 6-0 loss to the Los Angeles Kings.

The Coyotes looked absolutely invisible tonight, allowing the Kings to get the every loose puck and always appearing to be a step behind the play. Like all goaltenders before him, Wedgewood has really had a hard time performing well behind the worst team in the NHL. His record drops to 4-9-4 with a 3.52 goals-against-average and .889 save percentage.
Feb 4 - 1:32 AM

The Arizona Coyotes will have Scott Wedgewood in goal tonight against the Los Angeles Kings.

Wedgewood allowed two goals on 25 shots in a win over the Kings on Nov 24. He'll come into tonight's game with a 4-8-4 record, a 3.37 goals-against-average and a .893 save percentage. With Antti Raanta sidelined due to a minor car accident, he'll get the next couple of starts.
Feb 3 - 6:08 PM

Scott Wedgewood is the Coyotes' probable starter Saturday night against the Kings.

Wedgewood started Thursday's contest against Dallas (lost 4-1) after starter Antti Raanta was involved in a minor car accident earlier that day. He is likely to start once again in place of Raanta while the latter recovers from some minor whiplash symptoms. For the season, Wedgewood sports a 4-8-4 record with a 3.37 GAA and an .893 SP.

Feb 2 - 12:06 AM

Scott Wedgewood will get the start in Thursday's game against the Dallas Stars.

Antti Raanta was supposed to get the start in this game, but Wedgewood was the only Coyotes goalie on the ice for the pre-game warmup. It sounds like Raanta will serve as the team's backup netminder tonight. There was no reason provided for the last-minute switch.
Feb 1 - 8:43 PM

Scott Wedgewood allowed six goals on 44 shots in a 6-5 overtime loss to the San Jose Sharks.

Wedgewood had a great game but was bombarded with shots and didn't get any help from his teammates defensively. With the Coyotes out of the playoff picture, they might give their young backup a few extra starts over the second half of the season to see what they have but he is firmly out of the fantasy picture. His record drops to 4-7-4 with a 3.39 goals against average and a .894 save percentage.
