Scott Wedgewood was forced to enter Wednesday's midway through the first period against the visiting Sharks after Antti Raanta left with an upper-body injury.
Wedgewood did a very good job coming in ice-cold off the bench, stopping 14 of the 16 shots he faced to give his team a chance. The Coyotes were down 2-1 with an extra attacker late, but yielded an empty-netter to Joel Ward to nail their coffin shut. Wedgewood might be called upon to start Friday against the Kings if Raanta is forced to the shelf. Nov 23 - 1:20 AM

Scott Wedgewood allowed three goals on 40 shots in Monday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Washington Capitals.

The Coyotes built up a 2-0 lead in the first period, but they let it slip away as the game wore on. In overtime, John Carlson beat Wedgewood to give Washington the victory. Wedgewood now owns a 1-1-1 record with a 3.21 goals-against-average and a .909 save percentage this season. His fantasy value will be minimal at best.
Nov 6 - 11:12 PM

Scott Wedgewood will be in the crease Monday at Washington.

The Coyotes visit Pittsburgh on Tuesday, so Antti Raanta will probably be back in goal for that contest. Wedgewood has a 1-1-0 record with a 3.41 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage this season
Nov 6 - 12:25 PM

Scott Wedgewood allowed four goals on 39 shots in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Arizona Coyotes.

Wedgewood was acquired from the Devils last week. Tonight was his first loss as a member of the Arizona Coyotes. The netminder has a 1-1-0 record with a 3.42 goals-against-average and a .900 save percentage this season. Wedgewood isn't worth adding in any fantasy formats.
Oct 31 - 10:31 PM

Oct 31 - 1:09 PM

Scott Wedgewood stopped 28 of 31 shots in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over the Philadelphia Flyers.

This was his first start as a member of the Arizona Coyotes and it was also the first win of the season for them. Wedgewood managed to keep the Flyers off the board in the first two periods, but he gave up three goals in the final frame. Wedgewood now owns a 1-0-0 record with a 2.78 goals-against-average and a .903 save percentage this season. He isn't worth owning in standard fantasy leagues.
Oct 30 - 10:35 PM

Scott Wedgewood will make his Arizona debut on Monday night against Philadelphia.

Wedgewood was obtained from New Jersey in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft on Saturday. He will be the fourth different netminder to start for the winless Coyotes this year after Louis Domingue and Adin Hill failed to impress with Antti Raanta on injured reserve. Hunter Miska will be Arizona's backup on Monday.
Oct 30 - 2:39 PM

The Arizona Coyotes have acquired Scott Wedgewood from the New Jersey Devils for a fifth-round pick in 2018.

The Coyotes are hurting in goal and Wedgewood can't be any worse than what they are getting from both Adin Hill and Louis Domingue. Wedgewood won his only AHL game this season, allowing just one goal on 37 shots. He might be worthy of a pickup if you are in need of goaltending help if Antti Raanta isn't ready to return yet from injury.
Oct 28 - 1:52 PM

Scott Wedgewood has been summoned by the New Jersey Devils.

Cory Schneider is dealing with a lower-body injury, which is why Wedgewood has been called up. Look for Wedgewood to serve as Keith Kinkaid's understudy on Friday.

Oct 20 - 2:53 PM

The Devils have signed Scott Wedgewood to a one-year, two-way contract.

The deal is worth $650,000 at the NHL level. Wedgewood appeared in just 10 games in 2016-17 because of a torn labrum in his right shoulder that required surgery to repair. He posted a 2.18 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage. Wedgewood played well for New Jersey in four contests during the 2015-16 campaign. However, he will likely spend most of the upcoming season in the minors.
Jul 25 - 5:11 PM

Scott Wedgewood has been assigned to the minors.

He cleared waivers on Tuesday prior to being demoted. Keith Kinkaid will start the season as New Jersey's backup goalie.

Scott Wedgewood would have to clear waivers if he doesn't make the Devils' opening game roster.

Keith Kinkaid and Anders Lindback (PTO) are Wedgewood's competitors for the backup job, so if waivers weren't a factor Wedgewood probably wouldn't end up with an opening game roster spot. There is a chance he'd clear waivers anyways if he was exposed to them, but another team might be interested in grabbing him due to his upside. The 24-year-old had a 1.55 GAA and .933 save percentage in 22 AHL contests last season along with a 1.24 GAA and .957 save percentage in four starts with the Devils.

Scott Wedgewood allows three goals on 23 shots in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.

The 23-year-old has dropped back-to-back games after winning the first two games of his NHL career. Wedgewood has a 2-1-1 record with a 1.24 goals-against-average and a .957 save percentage this season. He'll keep starting until Cory Schneider returns.
Sun, Mar 27, 2016 08:47:00 PM

Scott Wedgewood will face Carolina on Sunday afternoon.

Through the first three starts of his NHL career, Wedgewood has turned away 91 of 93 combined shots from Columbus, Pittsburgh, and Washington. That's mighty impressive. Cory Schneider appears to be nearing his return, so ride the hot hand while you can.
