Matt Irwin could get an increased role on San Jose's back end this season.
Depending on how the Sharks align their right-handed shooters in Brent Burns, Jason Demers and Justin Braun, the left-handed Irwin may get a shot at a top-four spot. He might also get time on the second power-play unit. Irwin had 19 points, including just two goals, and 147 shots in 62 games last year. He will be looking for a big season, as he's eligible for unrestricted free agency next summer. Sep 4 - 6:32 PM
