"It’s an accomplishment, for sure, but I’m just looking forward now. The 27-year-old had a minus-one rating and a shot on goal in 11:16 minutes of play in his milestone game. He has three goals and seven points in 57 games this season.

Lance Bouma has an assist in 11 games this season.

Bouma went into this season with the aim of showing that his 2014-15 campaign when he scored 16 goals and 34 points wasn't a fluke, but so far he's been quiet offensively. Not only has he not found the back of the net, but he's only registered seven shots on goal. Of course it doesn't help that he's been averaging a modest 12:02 minutes per game and that's been skewing a bit downward lately.

Lance Bouma wants to show people that his 2014-15 campaign wasn't a fluke.

Bouma recorded 16 goals in 78 contests that season and then went down to two goals in 44 games in 2015-16. Given that he has just 24 markers over 243 career contests, you could be forgiven for thinking that 2014-15 representing a deviation rather than a true breakout, but Bouma feels otherwise. "That fuels you, for sure. Anyone who thinks I’m never going to have a year like I had two years ago, I want to prove those people wrong," Bouma said. "That’s exciting for me is having a chance to go out there and prove myself. I’ve done it before, so I’m going to do it again." To be fair, injuries were a huge problem for Bouma last season, so perhaps he can replicate his 2014-15 showing under better circumstances.
