The Calgary Flames aren't putting a timetable on Lance Bouma's recovery from a broken fibula.
"It's indefinite at this point," Flames GM Brad Treliving said. "He'll go through the rehab process which begins (Thursday). I think it’s too early to sit here and talk … you talk about that three-month mark, but until you get up and going, it’s probably premature to start talking about definite timetables. But everything is going according to plan and he’s on the road to recovery." The three-month mark he brought up was the initially reported timetable for Bouma's return. What is safe to say is that he won't be back any time soon. Oct 16 - 7:53 AM

Lance Bouma will attempt to take another step forward offensively in 2015-16.

Bouma scored 16 goals and 34 points in 78 contests last season, up from five goals and 15 points in 2013-14. "Last year was a good year for me, but I feel I can still improve on it. That's my mindset going in," he said. "Obviously, people are going to have questions whether I can do it again and I'm going to try and do my best to prove to them I can and can do it for a long time." While he's a big contributor from a physical perspective, we don't expect him to make further strides offensively. He signed a three-year, $6.6 million contract on Thursday.

Lance Bouma felt great after Game 4.

The winger played for the first time in the playoffs this season as he had recovered from an upper body injury. "Condition-wise, I felt great," Bouma said. "The timing was a little bit off, but I thought as the game went on, I got better and better. I’ll be good for next game. You’re kind of running on adrenaline, too. It’s nice to be back out there. Obviously, you play for playoff hockey. I felt good out there. Hopefully, I can just continue that. That’s our game is getting on them and trying to create turnovers. If we play that way, then we’re going to have a good chance at winning."

Lance Bouma looks ready to play in Friday's Game Four against the Anaheim Ducks as he takes the warm-up skate.

Bouma has yet to appear in a playoff game during his career, but posted 16 goals and 34 points in 78 regular season games this season. He's expected to skate on the third line to the left of Matt Stajan and David Jones.
May 8 - 9:17 PM

Flames coach Bob Hartley referred to Lance Bouma (upper body) as a game-time decision for Friday's contest.

Bouma has resumed practicing with the team and it wouldn't be surprising in the least if he returned on Friday. The fact that Hartley wouldn't confirm it isn't necessarily telling because coaches tend to be very secretive when it comes to their players' availability during the playoffs. Bouma had 16 goals and 34 points in 78 regular season games.
May 8 - 1:33 PM

Lance Bouma (upper body) felt "normal" after Thursday's practice.

"I feel like I'm ready, but we'll see," Bouma said. Officially he's still day-to-day, but it sounds like the chances of him playing on Friday are better than 50-50. If he is inserted into the lineup, he will likely play alongside Matt Stajan and David Jones.
