Lance Bouma's scratch on Tuesday was a disciplinary action.

Bouma reported to the Saddledome at about 10:15 a.m. on Monday when he should have arrived at 9:30. Interestingly, he was excused from practice early because he wasn't feeling good, but then returned to the Saddledome about two hours later. With that in mind, it's possible that Bouma wasn't feeling 100% anyways.

Lance Bouma (leg) could return to action as early as Sunday.

Bouma has missed the last four games but was skating on the fourth line in practice Saturday, alongside Matt Stajan and Brandon Bollig. "He brings a lot of energy," Stajan said. "And he’s a smart player. I think he’s played on a lot of checking lines in his career against teams’ best players on a lot of nights. He finishes his hits, and he’s, for sure, our best shot-blocker on our team up front. Obviously, he had such a big year last year. This year’s been tough with injuries, but he always works hard and battles through. He’ll be a big part of our team down the stretch." Bouma has only a goal in 11 games this season after scoring 16 last season along with 18 assists.
