Lance Bouma brilliantly redirected the eventual game-winning goal mid-way through the third period, after also collecting an assist in Monday's 3-2 win over the Avalanche.
Bouma was a force to be reckoned with all night long. Producing three shots, two hits, and a block over 16:48 of ice time as well. His assist was off a beautiful feed to David Jones to kick of the evening's scoring. Later he redirected a puck from chest level on a standing Semyon Varlamov, downward through his five-hole. Bouma now has 14 goals and 30 points this season. Mar 24 - 3:00 AM

Bouma’s goal came in the third period, his 13th of the season. He also picked up his 15th assist several minutes prior on David Jones’ 12th. Jones also had an assist on Bouma’s goal. Neither player is worth rostering in fantasy leagues. Mikael Backlund chipped in with two helpers. He has at least one point in eight consecutive games.

Lance Bouma picked up 20 penalty minutes Friday.

Bouma had a five minute major for kneeing Andrew MacWilliam of Toronto and also got a game misconduct for his misdeed. Zach Sill came in to protect MacWilliam and the two went at it, giving Bouma a five minute major for fighting, ending his evening. Bouma now has 50 penalty minutes in 66 games to go with 12 goals and 26 points.
Mar 14 - 5:25 AM

Lance Bouma scored his 12th of the season in Calgary's 6-3 loss to Anaheim.

Francois Beauchemin failed to connect with Patrick Maroon on a breakout pass as Dennis Wideman intercepted the attempt, and fed Lance Bouma for the tap-in tally. The goal made it 2-0 Flames midway through the game, but the Ducks would put home the next five pucks. Bouma had another solid game with the goal, three shots, and four hits in 16:11 of ice time. He now has 12 goals and 25 points in 57 games this season.
Feb 21 - 2:04 AM

Lance Bouma's third period goal was the winner in the Flames 3-2 win over Vancouver.

It was Bouma's 10th goal of the season and second game winner this week, as he was set up by David Jones. "Just an awesome pass by Jonesy, he did a good job of finding me there," Bouma said. "Just wanted to get off as soon as possible and I was able to beat (Ryan Miller) five hole. Just happy to put it in." Bouma has 10 goals and 23 points in 54 games with a plus-six rating. He is worth owning in very deep pools.
Feb 15 - 5:15 AM

Lance Bouma scored a goal and an assist in Monday's 4-1 win over the Sharks.

Bouma scored what turned out to be the eventual game-winner midway through the game for his ninth tally of the season. And all Bouma had to do was spin around and tap in the rebound. Easy-peasy. He also contributed three shots, two hits, and a block over his 16:23 of ice time, including 4:04 on the kill. With the two points he now has nine goals and 22 points through 52 games this season.
Feb 10 - 2:22 AM

Lance Bouma scored two times in the Flames’ 4-2 come-from-behind win over the Oilers on Saturday night.

Edmonton held a 2-0 lead into the third period, then the floodgates opened and the Flames erupted for four goals on 12 shots. Bouma scored the tying goal and the insurance marker at 16:27. He has eight goals and 19 points this season, so he’s not worth owning in fantasy leagues. Paul Byron and Sean Monahan got the other goals. Mikael Backlund and David Jones recorded two assists apiece.

Jan 16 - 8:55 AM

Lance Bouma notched his first career three point game on Friday night, unfortunately the Flames still lost 6-5.

Bouma, now with 13 points this season, had a whale of a game. He had three helpers, two of which on goals that gave the Flames the lead, four penalty minutes, and six hits in just 11:28 of ice time. If you're in a league that rewards hits, you know how valuable Bouma's been and his points are a sweet cherry on top.

Jan 1 - 8:44 AM

Lance Bouma and Raphael Diaz will be healthy scratches Friday night in Pittsburgh as Matt Stajan and Ladislav Smid return to the lineup.

With all due respect, it's difficult to recommend any of these four players in fantasy as Bouma leads the pack with nine points. For deeper leagues, Bouma also has 26 blocks as a forward along with 93 hits, seventh most in the NHL. Smid has 42 hits and 46 blocks himself as a defender.

Lance Bouma scored and added an assist on Saturday.

Bouma tied his career high in goals as he potted his fifth of the season but it was his assist to set up Markus Granlund that impressed everyone. Bouma is starting to get some fantasy value but as a third line player, that will be limited all season.

Lance Bouma found the back of the net in Calgary's 4-3 overtime win against Washington.

Bouma has now scored in back-to-back contests. He still has just three goals and four points in 13 games this season though and we don't expect him to have much fantasy value in standard leagues.
