Jordan Nolan skated on a line with Jacob Josefson and Johan Larsson during Thursday's practice.

"Jordan's size, ability to get in the forecheck and to hold on to pucks down low was attractive to us," said GM Jason Botterill. "LA is notorious for holding on to pucks. It's something that we were lacking and hopefully he can bring that asset to us." Nolan, who could play on the fourth line this season, might suit up in Friday's preseason finale against the New York Islanders.

The Buffalo Sabres have claimed Jordan Nolan off waivers from Los Angeles.

Nolan had four goals, eight points, and 44 penalty minutes in 48 contests with the Kings last season. He doesn't have offensive upside, but he could find a regular role with Buffalo on the fourth line.

Nolan notched four goals, four assists and 44 penalty minutes in 46 games with Los Angeles last season. He has appeared in 292 games over six seasons with the Kings, but there has been plenty of competition for depth forward spots at camp and it appears as though the team is heading in a different direction.

Through 45 games this season Nolan has picked up eight points, 44 PIMs and 61 hits. Dowd has picked up five goals and 20 points with 141 hits in 67 games as well. While Andreoff has accumulated 66 hits and 70 PIMs in 34 games.

The bottom-six forward has been out of action for three-and-a-half weeks thus far after playing slightly more than a period on February 25 and had been out of the lineup before that since Feb. 1. He is expected to travel with the Kings to Alberta for a pair of games with Calgary and Edmonton starting Sunday and finishing Monday. Whether or not he appears in a game is still up in the air. He has four goals and eight points in 42 games this season.

There has been nothing but bad luck this month for Nolan who suffered a lower body injury February 2 and returned for the first time on Saturday, only to get hurt again. He took a leg-on-leg hit from the Ducks' Korbinian Holzer. Consider him day-to-day for now.
