Date:

Jean-Francois Berube has been summoned by the Chicago Blackhawks.

Corey Crawford was put on the injured reserve list due to an undisclosed injury in a corresponding move. Berube will serve as Anton Forsberg's understudy for now.
Dec 1 - 2:26 PM

Jean-Francois Berube has been moved to waivers.

The move isn't surprising because Anton Forsberg is going to be Chicago's backup goalie this season behind Corey Crawford. Berube has appeared in 21 NHL games over the last two years.
Oct 2 - 1:42 PM

The plan is for J-F Berube to start and play the whole game when the Blackhawks face the Blue Jackets tonight.

Berube was signed by the Chicago Blackhawks during the off-season and is currently battling with Anton Forsberg for backup goaltending duties. Berube played in 14 games for the Islanders last season, posting a 3-2-2 record with a 3.42 goals against average and a .889 save percentage.
Sep 23 - 12:49 PM

The Blackhawks have signed Jean-Francois Berube to a two-year, $1.5 million deal.

He will battle Anton Forsberg for the backup job behind starter Corey Crawford. Berube has some potential despite the fact he posted a 3.42 GAA and a .889 save percentage in 14 games with the Islanders in 2016-17.

The Vegas Golden Knights have acquired Jean-Francois Berube, Mikhail Grabovski, Jake Bischoff, a 2017 first-round pick, and a 2019 second-round pick from the New York Islanders.

Berube is the player that Vegas actually claimed in the expansion draft. The rest are pieces that the Islanders gave to the Golden Knights in exchange for them taking Berube over some better options and also absorbing the final season of Mikhail Grabovski's four-year, $20 million contract. Berube will likely start the season in the AHL. In other words, Vegas didn't get much from the Islanders in terms of immediate help, but those two high picks could play a key role in the Golden Knights building their future.
Jun 21 - 9:16 PM

TSN's Bob McKenzie is hearing that the Islanders will lose Jean-Francois Berube in the expansion draft.

New York and Vegas appear to have a deal in the works that would also send the 15th overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft and Mikhail Grabovski to the Golden Knights. Berube has served as the third-string goalie on the Isles for the last two seasons.
Jun 21 - 4:05 PM

Jean-Francois Berube will be a healthy scratch in Tuesday's game against Nashville.

The Islanders will go with Jaroslav Halak as their starter and Thomas Greiss as their backup. Berube has no value in any fantasy leagues.

Apr 4 - 8:02 PM

Unfortunately, Jean-Francois Berube's fantasy value to close the season will likely take a hit now that Jaroslav Halak has been recalled from AHL Bridgeport.

The young netminder has gone 7-3-2 with a 3.42 GAA and an .889 save percentage in 14 games this season. With the Islanders charging towards a playoff slot, it's likely that Berube will get squeezed out of playing time despite three sets of back-to-back games to close the season.
Mar 23 - 1:11 PM

Jean-Francois Berube allowed four goals on 13 shots before being pulled from the New York Islanders' goal in the second period of an 8-4 loss to the visiting Carolina Hurricanes Monday night.

Thomas Greiss replaced Berube and had a similar night, giving up four goals and making 16 saves. After 14 games, Berube's goals-against average is now up to 3.42 while his save percentage is down to .889.
Mar 13 - 11:59 PM

Jean-Francois Berube will play between the pipes on Monday.

Berube last started on Feb. 19, though he has appeared in three games since that date. He has a 3-2-3 record, 3.13 GAA, and .899 save percentage in 13 games this season.
Mar 13 - 10:25 AM

Jean-Francois Berube came in relief of Thomas Greiss and did his job during Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Flames.

Berube came in down 4-0, and would go on to stop 15 of 16 shots over the last two periods of play. Not too shabby for the young netminder who was not expecting to play.
Mar 5 - 7:17 PM

Jean-Francois Berube relieved Thomas Greiss to begin the second period during Sunday's match in Calgary.

Greiss allowed four goals on 21 shots during his only period of play as Berube entered the game down 4-0.
Mar 5 - 5:07 PM

Coach Doug Weight believes in his goaltending duo of Thomas Greiss and Jean-Francois Berube.

While Greiss has been great, Berube has given up four goals in two of the last three games. "Our goaltenders, we believe in them," Weight said. "We’ve had maybe two practices in the last 12 days, so you’ve got a young guy who’s taking shots from guys like me, not from Johnny T [Tavares]. It’s tough. But we have two good goaltenders and we got a big win from Roubs tonight." The Islanders have Jaroslav Halak in the minors where he won his 12th straight on Sunday and is 13-1-1 thus far.
Feb 20 - 8:42 AM

Jean-Francois Berube allowed four goals on 30 shots on Sunday but the Isles were able to top the Devils 6-4.

Berube has avoided a loss in his last six appearances. The 25-year-old is 3-2-2 with a 3.12 goals against average and .899 save percentage.
