Berube went into the third period with a 4-3 lead but completely fell apart, giving up three goals in a span of just under three minutes. Mar 7 - 2:23 PM

Jean-Francois Berube turned aside all but one of the 34 shots he faced in Tuesday's 2-1 overtime victory against the Avalanche.

Berube was very sharp against an above-average offense, as Colorado entered ranked 10th in the NHL in goal scoring. Goaltending has been an adventure in the Windy City this season since Corey Crawford went down, but with the exception of an ugly effort on March 1 in San Jose, Berube has done a decent job in his other four appearances when called upon. Still, he is best left to the waiver wire in most fantasy pools at this point.

Berube has only made two other appearances this season, but none went as awry as Thursday night's loss. The netminder allowed six goals through 40 minutes before coach Joel Quenneville kept him on the bench for the third period. The goaltender's record falls to 1-1-0 with a 3.74 GAA and an .894 save percentage.
Mar 2 - 1:00 AM

Jean-Francois Berube will be in the crease Thursday night against San Jose.

Berube stopped 42 shots in a 3-1 victory over the Sharks last Friday in his first start with Chicago this year. It's not surprising that he would given another match against San Jose, but this one could be tougher on the road.
Feb 28 - 3:07 PM

Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville liked what he saw from goalie Jean-Francois Berube in Friday's 3-1 win over San Jose.

"In this game, it’s tough to win without your goalie being good," Quenneville said. "We were very happy with him. He did a great job. He was comfortable. He was patient in his net, absorbing a lot of pucks with people in front him was good. Rebound control was effective. Nice response from a long absence." It's unclear if he'll get the start in Saturday's game.
Feb 24 - 10:33 AM

Jean-Francois Berube turned aside 42 of 43 shots in Friday's 3-1 win over the San Jose Sharks.

Berube blanked the Sharks for the first 52 minutes of the game until he allowed Timo Meier to cut Chicago's lead to 2-1 at the time. The victory was his first of the 2017-18 season. The 26-year-old will enter his next appearance with a 1.73 goals-against-average and a .947 save percentage.
