He is still waiting to play in his first NHL game. Berube has been excellent in the AHL this year with Manchester. He owns a 19-4-3 record to go with a .920 save percentage and a 2.05 GAA.

The Los Angeles Kings have recalled goaltender Jean-Francois Berube from Manchester of the AHL.

Berube played well for the Kings AHL affiliate after Martin Jones was recalled when Ben Scrivens was dealt to Edmonton. He was only 1-3 in the playoffs but his peripherals were outstanding as he had a 1.67 GAA and a .936 save percentage. He needed a shutout to win his only playoff game.

Goaltender Jean-Francois Berube has been playing well for the Manchester Monarchs of the AHL.

Berube was promoted to the top job in Manchester when Martin Jones was recalled by the Kings when Ben Scrivens was dealt away to Edmonton. "As soon as Jonesie was out of the picture, you could just see his confidence coming leaps and bounds," coach Mark Morris said. "I think he's really relished that opportunity. When you know that, you have to be feeling the pressure that you're basically holding the team on your back and that's a big pressure for a young guy his age." Berube was 28-17-2 this season in Manchester with a 2.37 GAA and a .913 save percentage.

The Los Angeles Kings recalled goaltender Jean-Francois Berube from the minors.

Berube switched spots with Martin Jones as the NHL goes quiet for the next two-plus weeks. Berube was 19-13-2 with a 2.43 GAA and a .914 save percentage. He will collect an NHL salary for now but expect him to be sent back to the minors once the action resumes on February 26.

Jean-Francois Berube underwent hip surgery five weeks ago.

"It’s kind of an old injury I had, and the Kings wanted to make sure we fixed it up for my future, so that it doesn’t get worse," Berube said. "It’s just minor stuff that was bothering me a little bit. It was a good thing to fix it up right now." Berube thinks he'll be fine by "August or the beginning of September." Berube will probably play in the QMJHL next season.

Jean-Francois Berube has reportedly agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Kings.

Berube was taken with the 95th overall pick in the 2009 NHL entry draft. He had a 2.60 GAA and .902 save percentage in 50 QMJHL games this season.
