Although Brayden McNabb will probably start the 2012-13 season in the minors, he's still holding out hope going into training camp.

"I know I can play in the NHL and I believe in myself," McNabb said. "[The AHL] is not what I want. ... I'm going out still trying to prove myself and I'm going to work as hard as I can and do what I can to try to make this team." The problem is that the Sabres already have eight defensemen signed to one-way contracts, so the odds are heavily stacked against McNabb. That being said, he might join the team at some point as an injury replacement.

Sabres' rookie Brayden McNabb has been selected to play in the AHL All-Star game despite being with the Sabres since late November.

McNabb has shown flashes of brilliance in his brief time in Buffalo. Tuesday night he registered two assists in the Sabres' 4-3 win over Edmonton and was selected as the game's third star. With Tyler Myers on the verge of a return, McNabb will likely be returned to Rochester. However, we expect him to be back before the end of the season. Keep an eye on him as he has the potential to contribute both points and penalty minutes to your fantasy totals.
