Adam Henrique had no shots on goal in New Jersey's 4-0 loss Saturday.
Henrique will finish the season with 11 goals and 16 points in 42 games. That's a huge step down from his 51-point rookie campaign, but if he's given top-six minutes, he could bounce back in 2013-14. Apr 27 - 6:00 PM

Adam Henrique will be a healthy scratch Tuesday night against the Canadiens.

Coach Pete DeBoer said he thinks Henrique needs to take a night off to rebuild his confidence. The second-year center has struggled mightily this season, registering just 11 goals and 16 points in 40 games one season after nearly winning the Calder Trophy as a rookie.
Apr 23 - 12:20 PM

Adam Henrique broke an 11-game goal drought by scoring in Thursday's 3-0 win over Philadelphia.

Henrique's tally came into an empty net, but he'll certainly take whatever he can get. Ryan Carter and Matt D'Agostini also found the back of the net in the victory.
Apr 18 - 10:34 PM

Adam Henrique has just one goal and no assists in his last 11 games.

Henrique has been streaky this season and his overall numbers have been disappointing. He has just 14 points in 33 games after recording 51 points as a rookie in 2011-12. "Obviously it was a bit different coming out of the lockout and off the injury," Henrique said. "But I guess time was on our side because of the lockout. There was good and bad in the situation there. I didn’t miss as much time as I would have. I missed a handful of games. But coming off the injury I felt great. I was working out for a month before. I was in good shape skating, I came back and played really well the first however many games, scored some goals, went downhill a little bit and then came back again the same thing. Now, it’s in that little lull again. Hopefully it will pick up here." The Devils certainly need him to bounce back. Ilya Kovalchuk is still out with a shoulder injury and New Jersey has lost six straight games, bringing them down to 10th place in the Eastern Conference.
Apr 7 - 2:33 PM

Adam Henrique potted two goals and added an assist as the Devils dominated the Flyers for a 5-2 win Wednesday night.

Henrique might have brought some unrealistic expectations upon himself with such a great, 51-point rookie season, but he's still been plenty good in his second year, with nine goals and 13 points in 22 games. Patrik Elias and Andrei Loktionov each had a goal and an assist, while Ilya Kovalchuk notched the other marker.

Mar 2 - 6:17 PM

Adam Henrique has three goals in five games since returning from Nov. 29 surgery on his left thumb.

He's been playing on a line with Patrik Elias and David Clarkson, and the trio has looked very good together. "I think the last two games here we’ve found some chemistry and the guys are playing well," Henrique said. "We’re not overcomplicating things. We’re playing to our strengths. It’s coming. We’re getting pucks to the net. We’re getting rebounds. Clarkie’s having success. He goes to the dirty areas and picks up rebounds, scores goals."
Feb 8 - 10:07 AM

Adam Henrique feels good after playing in three games following a serious thumb injury.

Henrique underwent surgery on Nov. 29 to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb. He made his return on Jan. 31 and has two points in three games. "I feel good. Conditioning-wise I feel good. The thumb feels good. There are no issues," Henrique said. "The thing is, anytime you have an extended period of time off you’re going to be a little bit rusty. I was happy with the weekend and the way my game progressed. Hopefully I just keep moving forward."
Feb 5 - 4:27 PM

Adam Henrique got his first assist of the season on Sunday.

Henrique missed the start of the season due to a thumb injury. There was some speculation that the departure of Zach Parise over the summer would seriously hurt Henrique's fantasy value, but that shouldn't be the case.
Feb 4 - 10:27 AM

Adam Henrique will continue to skate alongside Ilya Kovalchuk and Travis Zajac on the Devils' top forward line.

Coach Pete DeBour has been searching for a left winger on his top unit and has tried Dainius Zubrus, Mattias Tedenby, Stefan Matteau, Jacob Josefson and Henrique in the position over the team's first six games. Henrique is latest to audition for the job. "Some chemistry, some consistent production. It’s not even someone that’s going to score 50 goals, but you’re always looking for line chemistry. … So, we’ll move around until we feel we get that", said DeBoer when asked if he was holding a tryout for the top left wing position.
Feb 2 - 10:12 AM

Adam Henrique, who scored in his return Thursday night, ended up skating on the top line after starting out on the fourth.

Coach Pete DeBoer moved Henrique up to the top line to start the second period after Jplaying acob Josefson next to Travis Zajac and Ilya Kovalchuk to start the game. DeBoer's rotated several bodies through that spot to start the year, but we don't expect Henrique to stick there. Eventually, look for the talented sophomore to land on the second line between Patrik Elias and the red-hot David Clarkson. Henrique should be owned in all formats.
