Adam Henrique will be centering the Devils' third line to start the season.

Henrique will be flanked by Jimmy Hayes and Jesper Bratt. Clearly, that's not anywhere near as promising as centering Taylor Hall and Kyle Palmieri. That gig will go to Pavel Zacha. New Jersey's second line will feature rookie, and first overall pick, Nico Hischier, Marcus Johannson and Drew Stafford. If that wasn't bad enough for Henrique, it is not clear if he will get any significant power-play time. For now, we can't recommend Henrique unless you are in the deepest of fantasy pools.

With the regular season around the corner, the New Jersey Devils conducted a team building exercise of moving a sizable rock up a mountain.

The Devils were separated into teams for the exercise with Adam Henrique being paired with Miles Wood, Ben Lovejoy, Nick Lappin, Brian Gibbons, Keith Kinkaid and assistant coach Alain Nasreddine. That team was the first to reach the top of the mountain. "We didn’t really know what to expect going into it," Henrique said. "They tell you to pick a rock and don’t pick a tiny one because you’ll be made fun of the rest of your life. Our rock was 190 pounds, which I guess was like carrying me up the mountain. But on the way up you saw a few different strategies. You use what you had to make it easier on the way up. It was great when everybody was at the top and every single team made it up there. You kind of take a deep breath and just kind of see your accomplishments." That capped a preseason that went well for the squad given their 5-1-1 record. The Devils aren't expected to do nearly as good in the regular season, but they'll have an opportunity to defy those odds.
Oct 3 - 4:49 AM

Adam Henrique could see time as the Devils third line center.

Henrique had 20 goals last season after a 30 goal campaign in 2015-16 and a couple of weeks ago it was thought that he could be the number one center with New Jersey as Travis Zajac was injured. But he has been passed in camp by Pavel Zacha and Nico Hischier at center while Taylor Hall and Marcus Johnsson should be the starting two left wingers. That leaves Henrique on the right side on a top-two line or the third line center. Henrique should get 20-25 goals and 40-45 points this season.
Sep 30 - 8:45 AM

Adam Henrique is the most likely candidate to center New Jersey's top line going into the 2017-18 season.

The Devils need someone to replace injured pivot Travis Zajac. Henrique was moved to left wing near the end of the 2016-17 campaign and he's open to playing wherever he is needed. New Jersey is expected to give Marcus Johansson and Pavel Zacha looks for the top-line center role as well.

Adam Henrique made three shots on goal Saturday night against the Flyers, but none of them found the back of the net as the Devils lost 3-0.

Henrique was one of seven Devils to make three shots on goal, but he managed to add a few more fantasy points with two penalty infraction minutes. In 21 shifts, he also made two blocks and had two hits.
Apr 1 - 11:15 PM

Adam Henrique scored a goal in Friday's 2-1 loss to the New York Islanders.

Henrique's power play goal in the third period cut the deficit to 2-1, but that's as close as the Devils would come to tying the game. He finished the game with a minus-1 rating, four shots on goal and two hits in 17:13 of ice time. Henrique now has 20 goals and 19 assists in 77 games this season. It's the third time in his career that he hits the 20-goal mark.
Mar 31 - 10:29 PM

Adam Henrique lifted his point streak to four games with a goal during Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Blue Jackets.

Mark it now three goals and five points during the streak. For the season he has 19 goals and 38 points in 71 games.
Mar 19 - 6:10 PM

Adam Henrique snapped his six-game goal drought during Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Rangers.

Through 61 games now the veteran pivot has 16 goals and 33 points, leaving him seven points shy of his fourth straight 40-point campaign.
Feb 25 - 8:52 PM

Adam Henrique had his five game points streak end on Sunday.

The Devils took on the Sharks and former New Jersey coach Peter DeBoer, who has the same job in San Jose was effusive in his praise of Henrique who potted 30 goals last season. "I’m not surprised," DeBoer said when asked about Henrique reaching 30 goals last season. "But that’s a really hard number to get to in the NHL. That’s an elite number. I don’t look at Adam Henrique as a guy who, year in, year out, is guaranteed to score you 30 goals. The years he gets you 30, it’s great. The years he gets you 20 or 25, it’s great because of all the other things he does on the ice. He wins faceoffs. He’s hard to play against. He kills penalties. He’s not one of those guys that I judge just on the goal total because he does so many other good things." Henrique has 15 goals and 31 points in 55 games thus far and should be on a roster in deep pools.
Feb 13 - 8:38 AM

Adam Henrique found the back of the net in a 2-1 win over Buffalo on Monday.

That brings Henrique's point streak up to five games. He has 15 goals and 31 points in 54 contests this season.
Feb 7 - 6:15 AM

Adam Henrique picked up a pair of assists Saturday.

The Devils center has a four game points streak in which he has six points. Henrique has 14 goals and 30 points in 53 games this season, making him a bubble player in most leagues at best.
Feb 5 - 8:37 AM

Adam Henrique picked up a goal and an assist in Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Calgary Flames.

Henrique and the Devils did all of their damage in the second period, as they scored three consecutive goals to jump ahead 3-2. Unfortunately for New Jersey, they were unable to hang on for the win. Henrique is currently riding a three-game point streak. He has 14 goals and 14 assists in 52 games in 2016-17.
Feb 3 - 11:22 PM

Adam Henrique scored his 12th goal of the year on the power play in a 5-2 loss to the Washington Capitals on Thursday.

Henrique's goal came on a redirect from a Mike Cammalleri shot. Henrique is a solid all-around player for the Devils who currently has 25 points in 50 games this season. Stefan Noesen also scored for the Devils in the loss to the Capitals.
Jan 26 - 10:16 PM

Adam Henrique found the back of the net in New Jersey's 4-3 win over Minnesota on Tuesday.

Henrique snapped his five-game point drought. It was his 11th goal and 21st point in 46 contests. At this rate he'll probably finish the season at the low 40s in terms of points, which isn't unusual for him, but would be down from his 50-point showing last season.
